Props to Reynor for heading out to korea again, it takes guts to do that. I really hope he does not give up. It's apparent he needs a coach/prep help because he is a great player and is really not used to the korean style prep tourneys and just laddering does not help him get to that next level that is needed for prep in GSL. I hope this doesn't get into his head, we all know he is a great player.
"Just" qualifying for Code S round of 16 is enough to say he's one of the best players in the world (as if it wasn't already clear). GSL hits different tho.
At the begining watching foreigners been humiliated was painful dude, but now it's just apathy, it's what you expect, no matter what Raynor said before. No even a single win.
If reynor is going out 0-4 in GSL to hero and gumiho (not even peak Korean sc2 IMO) I think it proves that serral needs to win a GSL to prove he's goat. In other words, there truly is no conclusive goat in sc2
The thing is Serral had won multiple GSL vs the world in Korea already, that’s why Serral don’t want to come to Korea to compete in GSL anymore. I mean to be honest with you it’s not even worth it. You have to live in Korea for 2 months, and you win only 3000usd for being GSL champion? Im sorry but GSL is not as big as before anymore. It’s still very competitive and with Zerg nerfted and everything you probably right, serral will have a hard time but for 3k usd only? Nah
Who does Serral need to prove it to though? The Korean pros all think he's the best, the non-Korean pros think he's the best. The only people who don't are Artosis, Mizenhauer (the guy who made the GOAT list, with "Maru fan" listed in his TL bio lmao), and a minor group of Redditors who think GSL is the equivalent of the Holy Bible or something
I like how Reynor during Round A while casting tells how "this is not the right decision to make here" during several of the matches, and then he shows off his absolutely pro broodlord skill in the last game here... just flies back the broodlords effectively doing nothing with 100 army supply.
Honestly Broodlords weren't the correct endgame unit to make, in any case. Lurkers, or even just more infestors would've been a better investment. I get it though- in the heat of the moment, he needed something to 'clinch' the deal, cyclones are just a wonky case of 'not sure what is good to make against'.
It worked in quite a few matches in GSL and usually one of the things that kill mech. And remember that Dark's game when he killed numerous BCs with ravagers due to well placed infestors. It works, but it also can spectacularly fail. As it did this time.
It's ironic that a person that speaks about strategy and skills earlier a week ago can't even win a single game. "When what you heard and what you see do not match, trust your eyes."
It is easier to make calls for plays when you watch the game, than when you actually play it. But yeah, when you say something and then can't deliver...
Reynor's cocky attitude has never been something I enjoyed, so watching him get absolutely bodied after how he talked in the casting booth last week was deeply satisfying. Catharsis.
Seems things dont go so well for the europeans when the koreans arent playing at 2 am in the morning for them huh... If serral was any good he would try and win the GSL.. he doesnt even try and the reason is this... he would be HUMILIATED.

Now you're overstepping the mark. Reynor yes, but Serral, no. Serral has won 2 GSL vs the World's and has consistently demonstrated his ability to defeat the top Koreans in major tournaments. I'm very convinced Serral would have a few GSL's under his belt now if he had participated over the last few years. Serral is undoubtedly the GOAT of Starcraft 2 now.
I would always support the foreigners just because they are always against the odds but it is always the same. It would be huge if a foreigner gets the GSL. Anyways i have this arguing with my buddy about whos the best player and so on. So im saying it is maru because of the numbers of gsl's hes got and he is saying that sereal is the best. I would love to see serral go in gsl but since he doesnt even try it looks like he is scared to do it so i cant give him the title. Not yet.
I'd love to see Serral in GSL as well. Don't think "scared" is the case though. Or at least shouldn't be. More like doesn't want to waste time spending the required month (or is it two?) in Korea. I mean guy wins a lot playing at home (European based tournaments), he doesn't need to go anywhere.
I feel so BAD for REYNOR. Forzaaa Reynor sei un grandeeee!! In the second game he really deserved to win but he made a fatal mistake: Brood Lords. If he had gone hydras / lurkers and nydus he would have won easy. He also was too nervous. So many zergs forget to use some amazing tools like nydus. But I also feel that with the new stupid Blizzard changes, Zergs are struggling in both early and late game. Look at game 2, Gumiho was down almost 30 workers, lost so much but : "hey I am F....g terran what do I care!! I just launch 50 Mules in 3 seconds and guess what?? I eat more minerals than your 80 drones! meanwhile I'll have Non stop scans" For being a 15 years old game, SC2 Balance is a J O K E !!
What a hard match to watch, torn between rooting for the rare foreigner in GSL and the most fun, creative pro
So bittersweet, heartbreaking for Reynor but impressive on Gumiho's part
Reynor fighting it out in game 2
It was amazing to watch.
Need more of these style games. For me, a highlight of the current GSL season.

We support you, Reynor!
gg Reynor! I can't wait to see you in the next GSL season!
Gumi and Hero are both Championship worthy players. But Reynor still gotta do better.
This match was just Gumiho running a clinic on doing TvZ mech builds.

Raynor, You okey?.
Props to Reynor for trying. More than I could say for Serral.
Are you okay?
The big battle in the first game was awesome
