Thank you, I hate, hate, HATE. Counting. My brain cannot remember if I said 24 or 34 and then I spend 20 minutes counting so I’ll 100% be using this tip from now on especially in my blankets
I think a big mistake many make is where you make your first stitch after your chain. Some pattern say chain counts as 1st stitch and others say it doesn't count. Placement where to insert hook at beginning of row can be confusing. A visual would be helpful.
I started crochet a few days ago. I've started to get the hang of it with chains. I'm still having a bit of hard time with counting my stitches because I'm not the person who will count it do math.
Son of a gun. I'm was working on and 250 stitch piece and i noticed my mess up. Restarting on the 200 piece now. I'm on row 3 and learning this is a relief 😳
I needed this so much!!! I’ve been working on an Afghan for my grandson for over a month and I keep pulling out my work because my edges aren’t lining up. This is going to fix my problem!!
Thank you. This has been so helpful for a beginner like me. I was messing up the count of stitches and got confused where to hook for the last stitch of the row that i was undoing the whole thing and starting again 😭.
I know this is from a while ago But could you show how you would do this for different kinds of stitches? Like single, half double, triple, herringbone half crochet? 😅
Is there any way to fix this issue after it’s already happened? I’ve been working on a piece and have realized way too late and that I slowly put too many stitches in and went from 76 on the bottom to 82 on the top. I realized I first messed up about halfway through and it would take a LONG time to have to redo all of that. Is there a way to cut stitches out and still make it work?
I'm trying to make a simple hat using half double crochet and my sides are very uneven, if I use stitch markers, where, exactly, would I place them. Thank you
I think this is a huge help for beginners, and I've made it a habit.
This makes a big difference in my crocheted work. Thank you.

Me too! I'm like am I actually stupid? Lol.

Thank you! I didn't know why my blanket was weird shaped 😂
BRILLIANT!!! I’ve dabbled in crocheting for 30+ years but it’s always wonky. I’m so grateful for you & this information!!! Thank you!!!
My first blanket was a hot mess! Gave it to my daughter to use for my grandson only in the car 🚗 🤷🏼♀️ I’ll be doing this from now on. Thank you!
I’m just getting “reacquainted “ with crochet after many years. I love your videos. You’ve already helped me gain confidence.

This was such a big help!!! Thank you so much for taking the time to share this with the world of crocheters!!!! Xoxo
Stitch markers are such a help for beginners like me. I use a small safety pin.
This was so helpful!! Thank you very much

So helpful. Thank you! ❤
Thanks! I wasn’t sure exactly what stitch to mark, before or after the chain three 😅 now I know! I always struggle with losing my end stitch.

Same here. I have ADHD and my brain won’t let me count and remember numbers id forget instantly!
This is a life saver!! Thanks!!
Helpful but you could also use Bobby bins
I'm not her but I have crocheted before and from experience I would say yes if the yarn fits
Yes absolutely!
Sooooo important! Thanks!
This is super helpful! thanks for sharing 🎉💕
Great explanation! I’m about to tackle a bedspread and I’m super nervous, because I want the edges to be perfect!
Thank you very much. This helped a lot.
I love your website. So easy to navigate. I'm a new subscriber. 🙂
Thank you so much ❤
My crochet looks like it's increasing but has the same amount of stitches as the first row
probably inconsistent tension
As a beginner I never understood what a turning chain was because no one explained it so that would probably help some people out lol
thank you for this! but how about circle ones??
My cheap self uses paper clips as a stitch markers 😅

I quit learning I can’t even do the first part
Crochet that pattern larger and sew in a silky thin inner lining and you have a summer dress for a living baby girl or woman or lady instead of a doll

Where was this video tip last week!?!? Lol. 😂😂😂😂

Where do u put the marker for a single crochet
What type of yarn are you using? I used 100% acrylic but it kind of like gets messy so it’s hard to see the crochet
Are stitch markers needed? I don’t have any.
Please someone tell me. Is this method also applicable for hapf double crochet?
Thank you I made this mistake not long ago
which video are you referencing?
Slows it down a bit but works
What if I don't have markers?
Do you skip the first stitch when you turn the project.
Hi Sigoni
I think the mistake most beginners do is not the placement of the last stitch but the rather the first stitch after the chain
Can't lie I thought stitch markers were to hold the space so I could use my hook for another project 🤣
I am a beginner but don’t know how to turn
This has made me more confused 😅
What the heck? We need a slow version of this😂

Thank you! I'm a little crocheted-out atm but I subscribed and will watch that vid with my daughter when she visits me again in a few weeks. 💕
When you have 176 chains and 80 chains that is just ridiculous count all of those chains there’s got to be an easier way
