    For your Canadian viewers. This is a Canadian company but for us you will need to pay in USD, have it shipped from China and pay Canadian sales tax at checkout. For me in NS that's $976.18 after conversion to Canadian $. $499 + Shipping sounds great but the reality is much less attractive.

    I find it reassuring the amp and USB sound are the same ones I use for my bass shakers. The springs are hard to source in the UK as they are the type used to spring load sections of wall in earthquake prone areas. If they have a UK distributor, excellent.The pricing is actually very good - the isolators are really hard to source in the UK.

    What really attracts me to this setup is the isolating springs . I live in a flat and simrace late into the night so the need to be quiet is essential . I have stayed away from Buttkickers because of this and settled for an Next Level Racing HF8 ( which are pretty good for the price once properly setup with simhub ) . This kit looks good to replace that and will also cancel out the noise vibration from my DD wheelbase by isolating that too . I am off to order one .

      Agreed - I've just installed a large single transducer under my seat and a couple of small ones on the pedals, but the vibrations are a bit too much late at night - so I've ordered the spring kit. I will probably start buying some more shakers and eventually have one on each corner too - but for now this will isolate things nicely and leave an upgrade path for when funds allow.

    It doesn't seem bad as an all in one entry product and also pretty well priced. 4 corner setups are kind of an old mentality and placing shakers closer to the body has become the preferred setup for many. Also, running a varied range of shakers can produce better results as you'll have a larger range of hz to play with and effects will feel more individual. Impressed that they've taken some kind of isolation into consideration, I'd expect that a lot of companies wouldn't. Appreciate the content as always

    • @noname-gp6hk

      There aren't really any good shock mounts for the SM7B due to its integrated mounting yoke. It's got a little bit of internal isolation but if more isolation is necessary then the best bet is probably going to be decoupling the mic arm from the rig itself. It's gonna need to attach to a wall, hang from the ceiling, or hang on a separate mic stand. Or go with a headset mic instead of a big studio mic.

    For about 20 years I've been running a transducer under my seat and it is simply being fed signal from my rear channel and powered by its own 150w amp. I could just as easily have one on each corner. But I'm driving everything (rumble and audio) with a single sound card.
    What added benefit is there for adding a second sound card? How does a dual-main output setup work while gaming since you can have only one main output in Windows and need to be able to both hear and feel the game at the same time?
    Also, 50w per channel seems low for a transducer, but then again my transducer is over 20 years old now so maybe they've come further along? What is the ultimate effect; is it a shake or a buzz? I can feel a huge range of signal through my single transducer setup; asphalt textures, rumble strips, airflow changes, bump drafts, propeller rpm changes, weather effects...it all comes through great. But it can be subtle or it can be massive. How would you describe the range using this setup and how detailed is the feel?

It is my only concern, but on your vision of them while you were driving shows very subtle movements, so I’m going to assume it doesn’t at all, but confirmation would be great. 🙂 I already have 3 Dayton Bst-1’s (with my own not so conventional mounts - 2 on the seat, 1 on the pedals) so these would compliment the rig tremendously, and they do look well designed/engineered.

    Interesting idea. Now take that spring setup, and design a udp telemetry device that "jabs" against those springs, but ONLY uses the spring travel and location settings coming through the UDP and you've solved motion simulation. AND compatibility is expanded (since it's udp and only uses the spring info) to include consoles. So the bottom half of this setup, the top half would be a minimal actuator system, and the control box would be udp, with USB options of course. You can even have a sound based backup for 'dinosaur' sims that don't utilize udp (that's right ACC, i called you a dinosaur, at least in the console port).

    • @noname-gp6hk
      @noname-gp6hk Рік тому +1

      There isn't enough travel in these springs for motion. Depending on how fat you are, you're looking at about 1/2" to 1/4" from completely bottoming out. Not only that, they aren't designed to handle lateral movement without binding up. They're not really designed for constant motion, just to take the edge off of vibration transmission and decouple something from the floor. Reason these are so "cheap" is because they're commodity off the shelf industrial isolators. The minute you start going into custom fabrication then you start getting into the price territory of existing cheap motion rigs.

  • @dathyr1
    @dathyr1 2 місяці тому

    Interesting info on this motion system for Racing Rigs. I went to their website and for products they also have listed a motion system that is a little more powerful for 650 dollars. I don't have any Rig right now, but just looking at videos on what people use for their racing. I know I don't want something that is going to put me in debt for the rest of my life. Some of their pricings are ridiculous.
    This company is reasonable and supply all the parts to get it up and going and you weigh about what I do - 200 pounds.
    Thanks for the video and Take care.

    Hi Dave, greetings from beautiful Barbados and I trust you and your family are doing well. I have one very important question, from your testing, can you tell which shaker is vibrating? For example, if the front left hits a curb, is it only felt in the front left side of the rig, or can you feel the vibration through out the entire rig? I have tried a similar setup before and the entire rig was vibrating making it almost impossible to feel each 'wheel' independently. I hope I explained myself and you understand what I am try to say. Thank you.......... Dexter

    Damn BST-1 went up in price. I bought mine maybe 6 months ago and they were $55.
    Also, nobsound amps are only good for one BST-1, even though it says it's a 100 watt amp. I ended up buying the Aiyima A07 Amp and it made a huge difference.
    All of that being said, I tried the four corners setup and barely got feedback even with everything turned up, makes me wonder how this would be any different since the vibrations get muted through the frame. I even tried Vesa mounts and hanging the bass shakers off the frame and it wasn't strong enough, and you have yours turned down in simhub which is surprising to me.
    I went back to one under the seat and one under the pedals and the vibration force is a huge difference compared to the four corner setup on my TR120 rig.
    All of that said, I can't go back to not using bass shakers. Even if you don't use it for tire slip, having it relay the road vibrations, bumps, and rumble strips, it gives the car real weight and makes it feel so much more real. I've found that front and rear tire slip is hit and miss between Sims, and some Sims don't even have ABS or TC available in simhub. Even without those items, still worth it. Feels amazing, feels so much closer to being in a car than relying on the wheel for everything. Makes me wonder what a full motion rig would feel like in comparison.

      Best way to filter frequencies out in audio is to not record them in the first place. You can do a high pass filter to cut the rumblies out but you go too high and you start effecting the timbre of your voice. Best way is to decouple the microphone from the vibration source by getting it off the rig. Attach the mic arm to a wall, drop it from the ceiling, or put it on a separate mic stand. *then* start working on EQ to get rid of whatever still gets through.

I use Simhub as well, purchased the pro version or whatever it is called in simhub and honestly I feel a few tenths of delay which is not too disturbing but quite noticible therefor I didn't add them to the pedals because with this much delay it does not make sense to feel abs and slip if it is alread too late. The included springs are more than enough, I have a PX1 rig, as well as a NLR seat mover, and I weigh roughly 225 lbs. I went with the gray rear and brown front springs, and they do not bottom out at all, I probably could have used the blue in front, but I also have simlab inverted pedal mounts which are also very heavy. I'd imagine the inverted pedals weigh more that your monitor, so you'd be fine.

The creator of Simhub said that the volume on the top right of Simhub needs to be at 100% (each effect can be set at lower levels). This is a neat mounting system for this type of bass shaker, the way I've mounted mine are a bit more... creative.
    While iRacing doesn't seem to support multi-channel bass shakers, I wish it did as I greatly prefer the way the iRacing LFE feels. It actually makes every car feel unique as you can feel the true engine vibration of each car and it feels remarkable and definitely adds to the fun factor. I found simhub made everything feel rather strange and samey. But I suppose that would be expected, iRacing has direct access to itself whereas simhub is based purely on telemetry data. However the way iRacing LFE feels has severely spoiled me for any other racing sim which don't have built in LFE, then I have to use simhub and it's rather sad face.
    Though for playing truck simulators, just feeding the audio directly straight into the bass shakers feels pretty awesome. Those trucks make a lot of bass XD
    If my only experience with them was using them from just simhub I'd probably not bother with them as I don't really like how they feel with that, I generally don't even bother and just don't use them for anything other than iRacing and truck sims.

    I got this kit and was not impressed. The amplifier is not strong enough to drive the four bass shakers. Even at 70% volume on each channel at the amp and 40% volume in simhub, prolonged shaking would trigger overcurrent protection inside the amplifier and it would shut off and have to be power cycled at the switch to come back online again. I gave up and bought a 2nd copy of the amp off amazon, and instead of running all four corners off one amp I have two on each amplifier. No more overcurrent protection shutdowns. They either need to use a higher powered amp or include two in this kit. One just isn't enough to drive these transducers.
    I also was not a fan of the springs either. I'm 6'3 290lbs and I have a heavy rig, and even the heavy springs were completely sacked in the rear. But even if the springs weren't flat under me, I still wouldn't have been a fan of them due to their placement. Getting out of the rig was annoying because the rear corner stuck out from the rig right where my foot lands when I get out so I was constantly kicking the damn thing. It also made the rig difficult to move around since the spring cage is two separate pieces which come apart, so I ended up throwing the springs in the trash and fabricated my own mount points. I hard mounted two inside my seat bracket and one under each corner of my pedal box up front. My rig is back to sitting flat on the ground again.
    My house is built on a concrete slab so it does not transmit vibrations through the house. It probably does help reduce vibrations if you're on a wooden subfloor or inside an apartment.
    Once I got rid of the springs and fabbed up all my own custom brackets and added a second amp, it's working pretty good. But I kind of threw out all the key parts of this kit and the amp is kind of garbage. So I would have been far better off just piecemealing my own instead of buying this.

      I am considering buying the isolator springs which will be about $400 AUD or another buttkicker for $600. Sounds like you didn’t get much more from the isolators? I’m in a new house with cement foundation but wooden floor. I also already have some metal/rubber legs lifting my rig up so it is kinda isolated anyway. Sounds like I would be better off spending 1/3 more for another shaker?
