I just sold my 70 super bee for 27000.after i painted it and put new stripes on it .i know it isnt a charger but my price was fair to the buyer and im ok woth it people say im crazy for letting it go but you cant keep them all and thatone was the easiest for me to sell.sure i could have marketed it and got a bit more but i made a ladies dream come true and everyone is happy.it was one of my dream cars i had it for 25 years now its her turn
The vin on the yellow car states it originally came with a high performance 383 four barrel. L is the code for a two barrel. That makes it worth a little more over a two barrel car. Also the idea that the cars are so long that the back ends stick out from covered storage etc which causes them to rust is rediculous hyperbole. I’ve driven these cars in the winter. The back end behind the rear wheels gets so packed with snow, the salt just eats away at it. The rear window channels rust out from water retention causing a leak. This water runs under the rubber trunk mat and stays wet thereby rusting out the floor. Overall a good video,I think your valuations are accurate.
@@blackenigma6777 also or at least for mine i noticed that the rubber seal's are done-poorly/design defect aka cut&shut+class-B-panels ect still love my 69 charger styling and don't plan on changing it or at least what Richard/bill would have done/approved of
mine was mostly in the gas tank areas for rusting so far that i know about as the 3d owner 2014-now and it's mostly from rain and or dailying it in the mid-west and rocky's . wonder how much difference between years and a big block as mine is a g-code ? also mine now is a theft recovery/flood car as some-JA's though it was free-part's/joyride
Cool video. I did a complete restoration with my Camaro. After watching this video I see all the steps I went through to make it whole again. Cha-Ching! Those cars will be awesome when completed 👍. 🍻
I'd take the blue one any day. Cars like the yellow one will drive you crazy and broke trying to find all the stuff thats been stripped off. I don't care if it's a big block, those kind of builds are a large pain in the butt and take huge amounts of man hours and wheel barrows of money to complete. RUST REPAIR SUCKS!
@@carlinshowalter1806 the factory big block cars were also typically the most abused!! Lol! You can think it's worth whatever you like, the question is, will someone give you what you want for it? If yes, you have established a value. If not, you haven't.
you've established what it is worth to that one someone, thats doesn't reflect necessarily what it's worth in the national market as a whole or what it's actually worth.
I think you laid it all out correctly. The more intact a car is, the more it should cost. I agree with the price on the yellow car. However, the blue car should be worth considerably more. Im going to say around $45,000.
Unfortunately with the price of the Chargers nowadays and the short supply I know I couldn't afford one in good enough shape to make a project out of. The good news is if you are a big Mopar fan I have seen some of the bigger cars like the Monocos or maybe the Newports and the like go quite reasonable in nice shape. For $10,000 you can get a project car that doesn't need everything some are fine just the way they are.
This is the reason that young car guys hop up Honduhs and Subarus; I'm an educated, middle-aged guy making decent money and I can't afford any of this stuff because greed rules the car hobby.
the high prices are killing the hobby. These cars are not worth the prices he estimates whether he gets it or not. I would take a nice Lexus SC430 over any of them.
Once again... I'm absolutely SHOCKED ! IMO, these Cars all require what basically amounts to complete restorations, which, I've been told can run anywhere $70K to $100K depending ? I mean I know Charger's have appreciated substantially, because I own one and get pestered the few times I've driven it over the last decade..... but I haven't really kept up with actual valuations, and the starting points of those trying to acquire/restore. After seeing this I wouldn't sell my unrestored/unrebuilt survivor in great condition under $125K
"N" code is 383 4bbl, not 2bbl as I think I heard you say. 383 2bbl code is "L" for 1970. I would be very interested to know the basis for your appraisal. Carl Spagnuolo N.Plm.Bch, FL.
you restore classic cars, i restore classic bicycles. Please please let me restore that Eddy Merckx classic road bike you have collecting dust in your garage. I am from Pa originally as well and would love to do that DM me for details
@@SesameStreetRacingChannel I bought my 68 charger for 2K 12 years ago! I had to replace the quarter panels trunk floor tail light panel and rear valence, but other than that it was very solid. I will never take for granted how fortunate I am!
no mention of 1967 to 71 ( vin/titled at the state level so yes there's gen-2 body's that got early 1967-2q-to-4q delivery and yes i tried to buy one in B-5 but had to saddle for 1st quarter 69 and a automatic as 4-speed weren't that available as a choice O-well Tr6060 time 😉) differences as to $$ as 1970 from my buying experience in 2004-14 told me 70 looks 90% the same ( not that ugly just i like 68 more in general but that decision depends upon my weekly mood like anyone one else, at least its not the k-ill-model in the 80's yuck ) ( and was tempting but didn't want the headache of changing it to 68/69 or harassment or self lying to me and others ect, i know probably stupid reason ) but about 2/3 to 1/2 as much USD-$ as my 69 charger with the same options and condition. not sure 💯if its the same now in 2022 or not on premium year
@@SesameStreetRacingChannel You know it.I live in Texas and see them at swap meets all the time. As a body man I can tell you'd be better paying a lot more for a car that doesn't have terminal cancer like that yellow car.
What the hell kind of appraisal was this no mention of big block versus small block values or 4spd consol or any other rare options pretty lame really.
so you're one of the guy's at the pump ⛽ that tried offering me 3 to 6K USD and i lol 😂and said NO! at 30K to 100k it may have mind-bugged me and with enough sweetness i may have slipped a yes and then regretting saying yes but 3k for a ok 👍running 67-70 charger no i can't even get a 90's-2000's Toyota eco-box for that
It's hard to believe what there cars are going for in todays market.....Well done thanks for sharing...
Amazing what they're going for... looking for a muscle car but I'm not sure I'm willing to pay the premium price those mopars are fetching.

I agree. That is not why they rust out. They rust out because they are prone to rusting out in those areas.

Everyone is correct. If the back was under cover wouldn't get wet or have moisture from the ground after the rains.

Only way you're talking 45 on that car is if it was a R/T
Have times changed,in 97,the yellow car I could have got for 300 maybe lower, the blue one,1.200 to 900 hundred dollars.
TRUTH sir!
