For all the people commenting about the Impala/Caprice, they have a '75 for sale at Maple Motors in Tennessee for $15,900! Go to their UA-cam channel, they just put a video up about it the other day and they go over it with a fine tooth comb so you have no surprises and baby did that engine roar! They obviously have a website for additional pics!!! It's also green...
I grew up in Elmhurst, graduated from York High School 1976. Seems I remember this car cruising York High and Spring & York roads. The only reason why it wasn't a showcase, was because of the Color.
Wow what a time capsule, right down to the when parked mid 80s period correct cocaine mirror in the console. There may be a stash still in the glove box n trunk that has done a stellar job at keeping the mice damage to a minimum they get one sniff of the devil's dandruff n immediately lost interest in chewing on anything else. Slightly more expensive alternative to mothballs or dryer sheets but 100% effective
When they were assembled on the line and the top was being finished, the workers knew if it was a vinyl top or regular top. Regular tops had lead to finish and smooth the seam where the "C" pillar meets the top. Vinyl top cars just got plastic filler. This was a vinyl top car and when they removed it, they probably put a new coat of plastic filler in the seam and it's cracked with age.
I had a 68 charger 383 4 spd with 3.23 gears. That is definitely worth restoring. I wish I had the money I'd offer to buy it. Those mirrors aren't factory the bodyside moulding isn't factory either.
Car likely had a black vinyl top and the rear roof support is a weld which would have been hidden beneath the vinyl. Guys at Graveyard Cars would LOVE to redo one of these.
Possibly, most Charger vinyl tops I've seen have been black. You could try decoding the car's fender tag or maybe ask Mark Worman at Graveyard Cars for guidance? Either way it will be incredible redone. Best of luck and looking forward to any future posts! @@MindofMatter
@@Redbuzzcut thanks for watching. I've got a Mustang Fox body video coming up. If you know anything about that stuff maybe you can help me out there too
I would buy both cars also if that’s what the seller wants. I really need that impala or caprice bad though so I’ll throw u a finders fee for helping getting the deal done.
Nice Charger R/T, but that said it's a minimum $100K restoration done properly. Front rims are original 14" Magnum 500's, however, those are the wrong trim rings.... and just as an example here.... the 'correct' 14" inner lipped trim rings can run $1,000 for 4 that will need work.
It's a shame there's so much rust, fenders, quarters, floors, and I would guess the frame rails, too? Very costly restoration if that's done. Good luck to the future owners.
To me, that '75/'76 Chevrolet Impala/Caprice Classic is almost as good of a find! They were fast as a cop car with a 350-4 barrel and ride like a Cadillac, another hard find!!
The owner of the Charger and this garage/home had a brother. His brother used this Impala as his daily driver. Not for sale, at least not yet, but maybe one day.
Not sure actually. I heard some people that know more than I do saying it's not the right color for the engine. The engine was a replacement at some point earlier in the car's life and I think that's when it was painted and not necessarily the correct color
Yeah and anybody with old car knowledge knows how to get them trunks and glove boxes open along with the hoods of all makes and models of older cars and trucks.
OMG! What a save of a powerful example of a "Muscle Car", congrats!
Hell yes and keep the same paint that green looks great.
There is not much to be done, some welding and paintjob. The car is beautiful!
1969 Charger is my dream car. Save the classics!
The CB antenna is a Radio Shack. A good period correct CB radio is a Lafayette HB-625.

It’s a roof seam that’s leaded, it’s a sign of rusted through, still nice find, worth restoring

No way. I graduated in '74. I wonder if you knew my former room mates cousin in '76.

Thanks! Interesting stuff
This is pretty clean for rust belt car. You should see some of the Chargers that Chris birdsongsong restores. He brings them back from the dead.
I'll check it out because both the broker and whoever may buy it will want to restore it
G. Birdsong,a red hair guy I worked with drove old cars.He had 8 kids.

had one back in the 70s everybody stopped and looked at it
Hell yes they are hard to find....been looking for one for 30 years now
Structurally solid. Excellent

Jagged edge up on Mopar keys.
If the body side molding is on the build sheets it’s rare option
The switch next to the radio is for rear speaker fader .that car prob had am 8 track because it has 3 spakers in dash .we have 3 69 chargers
You rock, thank you. That was bugging me, what it was
Have you ever seen a green 69 non RT with side pipes?
Air conditioning car with rear defrost and rear speakers nice
Yes there was a blinker in the hood and on the fender
So cool
Looks like the Illinois area is pretty tough on vehicles. cool car nonetheless.
Very bad for corrosion in this area, yep
Man that a new car nothing wrong with it
Wow...amazing shape..
Had one same color black vinyl top In 1973.
Heck yeah. Any pics?
It is definitely restorable and I'd ❤ to have it but I'm on a tight budget.

Could it have been a white top? I think the owner might have said that but I can't remember

I had three 68 and one 71 charger and they all seem to rust in the same places
I've seen much much worse get restored. It's actually in better shape than most of them if you can even find one.
I saw this in the FB groups. it went fast.
Must have been one helluva broker then
You Will get that as a very nice drivable car for 50k plus parts
Stupid question. Thess are worth more than most Corvettes. Lucky you.
Structurally solid!!!
На таком бы прокатиться 😅
My man, besides the floor, you found a good car, being from the south of Chicago, a former street racer, negotiate a good price bro, ya dig. 10:09
Wish I was the guy to buy it, but I am not. I
Hell yes, reztore for shore
Oh its also had the fuel lines replaced. You can tell by the way they are run along the bottom of the car.
I would buy both cars also if that’s what the seller wants. I really need that impala or caprice bad though so I’ll throw u a finders fee for helping getting the deal done.
Thanks, I'll remember that but owner is not ready to sell the Impala yet. Sentimental value...
I NEED it!
Awesome find and spray some WD-40 in the trunk key slot just need some lubricant
stripe delete got the emblems; stripe did not get emblems. cool car.
Yeah I wasn't theware how rare this was until the owner clued me in. When you're only I believe
with that cb on the back and if you watched dukes that man had intentions
I thought the same thing
Good unit for Parts
Look at driver sid finder under hood .underside could be real bad.

❤ Drive it every day
Next car you need to look take an older guy with you in their late 50s early 60s that knows something about the 60s and 70s cars...
Know any in the Chicago area?
How much do they want for it? I dont remember them having the RT emblem on rear quarters they were stripe style if i remember right.
Think it's supposed to be on the front fender where that hole is.
If ordered without the stripe you got the emblem instead.
It's a shame there's so much rust, fenders, quarters, floors, and I would guess the frame rails, too? Very costly restoration if that's done. Good luck to the future owners.
True but still worth fixing.
I'll take it like that, make it roadworthy and drive it.
I’m interested if it hasn’t been sold yet
Thanks for your interest. I believe it is sold
To me, that '75/'76 Chevrolet Impala/Caprice Classic is almost as good of a find! They were fast as a cop car with a 350-4 barrel and ride like a Cadillac, another hard find!!
some one said they started from the factory ,rusting

Definitely worth restoring but don’t have that kind of money not even to buy and flip.

So what's the story on the other car
The owner of the Charger and this garage/home had a brother. His brother used this Impala as his daily driver. Not for sale, at least not yet, but maybe one day.

Just wash it….done!
Worth restoring? Ah...you bet!😅
The battery is probably junk
I bet you are right
Had a new battery on a trickle charger.Worked good until a fat ass chain-smoking renter unplugged it.Both dead of course 🤬😆
Wrong color on the engine korekt is Orange not blue is 1968 and down.mvh Walle from Sweden
Car resorted I’d say someone would pay over $200,000 to the right person. Maybe more.
