Grew up riding around NY in my brothers ‘69 Charger SE that was almost identical. H code, T5, tan top, buckets and buddy seat, A/C, luggage rack, Magnum 500 wheels. Made me love these cars.
Total metal replacement for the trunk the quarters and the roof skin. And the replacement frame rails and the rear valance. From the firewall back if it's any kind of weak metal pieces or panels? Replace it.
My favorite year is 69 because I still have my parents 69 Charger from new and it’s all original except for the magnum 500’s but it also has the 383 H-code engine Survivor car and those taillights are what makes those 69 Charger’s my favorite and the different grill.
My favorite is the 70 but 68-70 are the best looking in my opinion. Funny thing is in MOST history of CHARGERS in movies were usually the bad guy cars and usually destroyed by the end of the movie but in the "Dukes Of Hazard" they was the "GoodGuy" car and though obviously destroyed they kept going forever.
Dodge charger's mostly rot out around back window area because lower window trim >shaped like a boomerang < hold's water behind it and leaf's and expecially pine needle's. Also because of design of area, air can't just blow across to dry so it stay's wet. After a rust hole start's all water goes in trunk and eventually rot's out trunk. A 1969 Charger >SE< package has leather front bucket seat's/ wood grain dash/ woodgrain steering wheel/Chrome rocker molding/ vinyl top.1960-1973 Mopar's used .020 gauge metal twice what today's vehicle's use.
I bought my 69 dodge charger in 1988 from the original owner. I found my broadcast sheet in 2022 barely! I had no idea they were placed there. It so happened that I was replacing my seatbelts with other ones that were in a lot better condition than mine. We located the broadcast sheet in the back seat. Greatest feeling ever, it only had a small tiny tear in the middle. My charger has been garage since I bought it, that's probably why the broadcast sheet survived.
Unfortunately i dont love in the states so ill probly never run into a charger barn find like this, i hope you take damn good care of her if you plan to keep it for yourself
1968 was the game changer for Charger. My Dad, when I was 12 brought home a Triple green Charger. It was only a 318 but it looked like no other car made. Thanks for your video!
This year charger is cool. But for some reason, I always loved the 1974 Dodge Charger special edition with the slats on the rear side window. You are very informative and it's a pleasure to listen to all your car knowledge 😊
Old Mopars are beautiful cars but very expensive to restore. They are usually very rusty. They were not put together very well at the factories and not rust proofed. A lot of bare metal left on the undersides.
I read a motor trend article once saying these cars would be cheap to make if they dusted off the old blueprints and mass produced them again today. Around $8K cost to the manufacturer at scale. They were simple cheaply made cars. The way they manufacture cars today is about packing as much crap into the cars as they can. More stuff to profit off of. They sell people on the idea under the guise of safety, conveinence and comfort. So instead of new cars costing $12-$14K they cost $40-$50K. I wonder what would happen if they made new '69 Chargers and sold them for $14K new. Would you buy the modern style Charger for $40K or the classic style Charger for $14K ?
They made the new electric chargers look like these cars.. way ahead of any other electric car company.. they will all be the same only difference will be the style..
@@backyardbarnfinds yeah I saw those. They're ok. They'll be expensive inefficient electrics packed with all kinds of unnecessary crap I don't want or need. They look tall fat and plasticy similar to the newer challengers. Lol idk I just don't like the modern age cars. Prefer old ones from before all the bs federal regulations ruined the designs
68 is my favorite with 69 a hair close 2nd. Most informative. Man, they sure do seem to tend towards a lot of rust. Top 5 in my best of all Muscle/Pony car list. Haha.
Dodge Chargers were not body on frame construction. They were uni bodies. So those are not true framerails. They are part of the support structure of the car. I would definitely restore this 69 Charger, mostly because I love my Mopars.
I have a 68 that I bought that I’ve already got $10k just in sheet metal. You can either go through the pockets for a solid car or buy a basket case that needs it all. Either way you go, Chargers aren’t a friend to your wallet…
@@backyardbarnfinds So that pretty much says the Norwood cars are easy to be faked. Except for the few things that you have shown to prove certain options.
I can say I've seen worse cars restored but man that one is really eaten up. It was a beauty new...my fav colors were turbine bronze with a white top. Nicely optioned...would never be a moneymaker but someone could make it a labor of love

I saw what was left of the build sheet in the back rest springs -- should have tried getting it out.
Mark Worman is looking for his 1970 Dodge Charger. Nice find! 1968 and 69 Chargers are my favorite.

69 chargers have always been my favorite car
I would give it to mark to show gratitude of all he has done for the Mopar family and let him build it just like the one he had
Groovy find now Day's
68 is my favorite Parker, cool tail lights
They are pretty rad!
I agree- ‘68 is the King 👑
Great video
Super nice find !!

13 minutes worth my time! Way to go man.
Grew up with Chargers. A friend drove one into the ground. If I only had a time machine to go back and tell him to take better care.
I believe Mark Wormans childhood car was a 70....not a 69. But almost the same option combo! 🙂
I owned a 69 R/T from Arizona totally rust free, for 23 years . I think the Charger I s the best looking car ever built period!

68 for me.

‘68 is the most beautiful muscle car ever produced- 🔥
My favorite charger, 68 I had one in high school that same color
Definitely replace the rear frame rails.
Replacing the frame rails would be easier than repairing , as most body panels and components are readily available .
You got any chargers for sale
Worman’s Charger was a 70’

I have a 69 here in England..That one will cost a colossal amount to restore unfortunately
Mark Wormans Copper Charger was a 70
So you've got a graveyard, and a Charger. Sounds like a spin off to me 😊
The need a pair of 68 doors

Do you know where the build sheet is located on a 69 Camaro early Norwood car?
Most likely not there.. a hand few of norwood car build sheets have been found but these were cars sold to CA..
@@backyardbarnfinds So where was the location of the handful of Norwood build sheets that you have found located?
@@frankc1430 I have never found one..

69 is the right year buddy. Well worth saving with a donor car for parts
It's a Mopar please fix it
Keep Chip Foose away from it,.......he'll turn it into a circus act.

All. Chargers have hood turn signals
Never really cared for the Chargers. They were just to big and bulky for my taste. I liked the smaller muscle cars.
always been 1969
