I was in attendance of Taboo Tuesday 2004. I was eleven years old and it was my first pay per view I was ever in attendance for. I was so excited to be there that I hadn’t noticed the poor attendance and only just found it was the worst attended WWE PPV. I was 10 when my parents bought the PPV for me. I never realized how low the attendance was. I was happy Shelton won, but was pissed when Kane got his ass kicked.
@zanethindYeah, I actually like the In Your House names being run in NXT. They're keeping it to just one IYH, and I like that throwback, especially with the many other names like No Mercy.
Shawn vs. Undertaker ending in a No Contest at Ground Zero actually WAS a good thing as the result in storyline is what led to the need for the Hell in a Cell stipulation. It's also one of the best brawls of the time too, while Bret vs. Patriot was a decent outing too.
Ive only been to one WWE PPV. It happened to be 1998 King of the Ring in Pittsburgh. Still have the ticket stub and memories of Mock Foley going off the top of Hell in a Cell.
Actually he only planned a match with Batista, because that's who WWE expected to win the poll. When Benjamin won, the entire match was done unplanned. Jericho didn’t even know what Benjamin's finisher was so his reaction to winning the IC title was legit.
To be fair, IYH Ground Zero and Rage in the Cage were both at the Louisville Gardens which at full capacity could only hold 6,000 people. With the stage setup and everything it was less than that. At 5,500 Rage in the Cage was probably a sell out and Ground Zero wasn't too far off. It was pretty common during that time frame for WWE to run smaller buildings like that, so some of the other IYH events probably were at or near capacity for the building.
@@Deadguy2322forreal Yeah when I clicked this video I was expecting large arenas that were 1/4 full. Instead we got small gymnasiums that were near full capacity. I was at in your house 3 when I was 10 years old. There was a lot of confused fans when they announced Owen Hart didn’t make it to Saginaw, but ran in towards the end
To be fair with In Your House Ground Zero, it was held at the Louisville Gardens, a small arena that I"m not even sure is open anymore, it has only 6k seats to begin with and when you factor in entrance ways taking up seats, getting almost 5k people to the show is still good percentage wise. Could they have held it at a bigger venue in Louisville? Sure, Freedom Hall was open, as was Broadbent Arena but that one is just over 6.6k cap as well. it would also be the last show WWE would hold there until July of 1999 (although I think that maybe a mistake given the attendance was listed at 14k, the arena like I said fits only 6k). It was mainly used by WWE's old developmental show, OVW as the PPV venue. Why WWE would hold a ppv there to this day is still rather odd and questionable.
Ground Zero was a pretty good show. Low attendance or not. And the no contest in the main event was unique at the time with HOW the match fell apart, featuring the roster trying to pull apart HBK and Taker

You'd think they'd give up on holding PPV's (already, "premium live events") on a Tuesday. The company found out as early as 1991 that scheduling a PPV on Tuesday's didn't work when this Tuesday in Texas a) drew only 8000 people (would almost have made this list), and b) had a buy rate of 140,000 (compared to 'mania's 400,000).
