As a brazilian that was at the house show, it makes me super happy that this house show became so famous. It feels like even being from a peripheral country I witnessed PW history lol
I was at the WWE house show in Brazil in 2012. It was a really cool event! Jericho had to apologize immediately, as a citizen called for arrest. tense but historic moment lol

I was at both house shows at MSG for Backlund dropping the title to Diesel, and for the curtain call. For the latter, I was sitting near the entrance ramp and was a little surprised at the end when Razor and Triple H headed to the ring after the match, we were a little confused. After seeing them embrace in the ring, I remember the gasp/cheering from the fans. Yes, it was the end of kayfabe as we there knew it but still incredible.
I was at at house show in Chattanooga, TN in 2007 I think and Mr. Kennedy came out with his mic schtick and challenged anyone. The Undertaker unadvertised came out and squashed him. Booker T was still in character and told a kid not to touch his Royal robe. 😆
I remember going to a live show in 2006 at 9 years old and got put on my uncles shoulders, we got up and walked closer to ringside and we both gave JBL the middle finger and he actually gave it back. But yeah, doing the salute and the walk in Germany is never a good idea. You're better off giving the middle finger to a 9 year old XD My uncle and I still laugh about it to this day and that he actually reacted to it.
I know there was one I think on April 24 2007 when Mickie James accidentally beat Melina and won the womens championship, but then the next week on Raw, Melina was champion again and it was never spoken about again.
personally i think i got one of the best house shows. i got one of the only eddie vs taker single matches to ever happen. they only mixed it up in singles i think 2 or 3 times all on a 2005 house show loop. i got to see it in TN. about 3 months before eddie passed away.
One of my favorite things to do as a kid was reading the house show results in Pro Wrestling Illustrated in the late early 90's. You never knew what you were going to find in those results. The fine print sometimes had some pretty neat surprises.
I’ve only been to a few house shows over the years. One I remember HHH and Mankind had a street fight. It was fun to watch until there was an actual fight in the crowd, so the wrestlers stopped what they were doing to watch. Well everyone in the building was watching the real fight too, so they didn’t want to compete
Wait, are you telling me that there was a sixty minute Hart vs. Flair for the championship - a match that could easily main event one of the big four - and they just did it at a house show and didn't even bother to record it?
Did anyone actually like JBL as a performer back then? I've literally never heard anything positive about him. I also love how "The Game" came from Triple H being upset about how he was treated from the curtain call. Cool how things pay it forward.
I think JBL is one of the best heels of all time As a kid I despised him more than anything - now that I’m older I can see it’s because he really embodied that character
I was so friggin honored to be at that NXT house show where Joe beat Balor. Literally told my step dad right before the match that the title wouldn't change hands, as they hadn't done that since Nash vs Backlund.
8:17 JBL was also banned from EVER reentering Germany following the incident, and WWE was actually held responsible for it. JBL would also be fired from CNBC, where he was a financial analyst, once the details became visibly apparent to their peers.
My first ever house show the Undertaker Rest In Peace tour, back in like 2008 I think it was. Opening match was Cryme Tyme Vs Hart Dynasty.. I remember getting excited seeing Mike Chioda wander down to the ring. 😂
I remember in 2012 I was at a house show and a few wrestlers were singing happy birthday to vickie guerrero and then cena splatted a birthday cake in her face, good times
Me as someone from Arkansas: Oh cool. Nobody ever really mentions us and I'm in since it's a WWE show. Also me from Arkansas: Little Rock? Oh shit no please don't. Stupid riot...
Didn't AJ Styles accidentally either win or lose the US title at a house show because they botched the finish or something? I seem to remember that happening a while back.
Aj beating owens was the plan at the house show However i dont think he was meant to lose it back to owens at battleground 2 weeks later (i think this maybe what your referring to)
I feel bad for Jericho, yes it’s one thing to do that, but he was just being a heel and didn’t know and maybe WWE should have been aware, but at least they will Learn
Went to a house show in September 2016 to see Brock Lesnar vs Randy Orton rematch after that Summerslam incident. Why it was only at a house show in Chicago I will never know
Let’s get this straight…… There wasn’t a spot in the top 3 for Bruno Sammartino, some argue THE Greatest Champ WWWF/WWF/WWE has Ever Seen, losing to Superstar Billy Graham at a House Show in Baltimore Maryland?!? WTF?!?
Jericho kicks a cheap piece of cloth that looks like the Brazillian flag and has to apologise to the entire country. While JBL acts performs a Nazi salute in Germany, and becomes WWE Champion soon after. That's WWE.
So, not to give Y2J a pass, but that feels like something that would make a little sense that he wouldn't know, since in the US and Canada it's disrespectful but not illegal. JBL's, though, I'm pretty sure that's been common knowledge even outside Germany that that's illegal, and for far longer than he's been alive. Doing what he did is basically asking to be arrested.
Everyone who says about the Jericho flag incident in Brazil that “it’s not a big deal it just a flag” I always I say this, “it’s just a flag” until a foreigner does it to the American flag and they want the guy arrested and probably will get death threats. Respect other countries flags if you want them to respect yours !
My dude, we have actual Americans who do worse to the American flag than what Jericho did to the Brazilian flag and they don't get punished for it because it's not illegal.
i may not like it, but i will defend to the death a person's right to do whatever they want to my flag. an unhinged fraction of a percent may not agree with me, but nearly everyone does. don't misrepresent us. and uh, now that i've read all the comments, not a SINGLE person said what you said they said.
As a Brazilian, I think its silly as hell. Who cares, its wrestling... he was just beeing a heel. I wish I was there though... I would have booed my ass off and laughed right after
What about the house show in Rio where Pat Patterson won the tournament to be the first ever Intercontinental Champion? Seriously though, I was at a house show in Baltimore, 1983 or 84 maybe, when Tito Santana beat Greg Valemtine for the IC title. I might have been the only one in the arena not cheering for Chico.
There was a smackdown live event in 2004 here in san diego i was 13 and remember the dudley boys calling fans w*tb*cks and then bubba ray dudley stomped on the mexican flag
Diesel vs. Backlund. Nash defeats the champ in 8 seconds…with only one move (a power bomb, of course)…which he botched. Not exactly a brilliant coming-of-age.
How can you not include the legendary night in 1971 when Ivan Koloff took the belt from Bruno Sammartino, ending his 8-year reign as champion? The MSG audience was stunned into silence. Bill Apter called it the most shocking event in WWE history.
I went to the live show where biden said he defeated hulk Hogan for the championship. In a cage match. It was wild. Corn pop came out and we knew it was gonna be extreme then.
Well, doing that to anyone's flag is an immense faux pas. Honestly surprised he did not end up in a Brazilian jail, if even only for a night. Honestly surprised he got out of there with all of his teeth.

i was fortunate to be at the last NXT house show for bayley, finn, and american alpha. probably the best show i've seen in person.

She lost it, won it back an hour later on the same house show.
I was at the house show in Indianapolis the night before Summerslam '94 where Shawn Michaels & Diesel won the Tag Team titles from the Headshrinkers.
The nostalgia rush I got from seeing that JBL screenshot and recalling all the times Ross roasted him for it

I was curious about Little Rock. Sure enough, Dec 15th, 1997 was in fact a Monday. Apparently Raw was taped the week before (for whatever reason).
I was at the match when diesel beat backlund, I was 10 years old and fired up lol I was so pumped about it at the time
