Terrific guide as always. One thing I would add here is emphasizing the importance of the walls encircling the Central Ice node: They mark the range at which most ranged abilities will be able to hit it. So, if you are able to hit the node with ranged abilities, you will almost certainly be able to reach enemies that surround it as well, with some adjustment. Combine this with the fact that from the outside of the circle, where you are freely able to see inward, you have a luxurious position to choose when to engage, as those in the circle have a harder time seeing out past the walls. In short, the Central Ice node is where a large portion of your big plays may occur. It is much riskier to take the central ice unless you have a substantial power advantage. Sometimes it is better to simply leave the center node alone and use it as a bait to lure advantageous team fights.
Thanks for the info on the updated shatter. I used to love this map wholeheartedly but since the most recent changes minimalizing the small crystal groups i have to say i hate playing it now.
another wonderful video. before watching your videos, I was an average pvp player, now I'm getting max BH and dealing the damage! I'm calling you Sensei!
I actually silently gasped and hit my head with both hands at 1:42. I think I might binge your content because that early and there are already good points that I don't consider while already being an average/decent PAL PvP player. Also, the UK "shatter" that ressembles "shaddap". Giggles
One thing I see over and over again is that attempting to greed another team's big ice by moving in via the tunnels almost always results in being pushed out at best, or being pinched at worst. Or, in other words, "I can't believe the death tunnel resulted in death!"
Shatter is my favorite. I played it about five times after work today. I play BLM and love the way its layout works well for ranged support (yes, I said support).
Battlehigh helps burn ice, but ice doesn't give battlehigh, so keep your priorities in order. That's the most important rule of shatter. Never pass up a good flanking opportunity. Once you're sitting on a nice level of battlehigh then you can play defense and focus ice more. I find that you can get away with a lot of stuff as a ninja on shatter. I regularly lead kills as I pick off distracted ice lickers or boldy go for a 1 man pinch in the tunnels with the doton + goka for big damage, then teleport away to avoid the steamroll.
The worst are the people spamming the wrong thing in chat, cause a lot of people who don’t know what they’re doing will just follow that. Far too many people are scared to play pvp in a pvp mode. Slowly but surely your videos will help educate the uniformed.
I know how you feel I can them sheep when they start blindly following every callout XD many care too much for there stats and will run at all costs to preserve them rather then dive into battle to learn what they can get away with
@@salamanderYT That, and you’ll have those people stop mid cast and sprint towards the objective (biggest gripe), where if they stayed in the fight, your team likely would’ve pushed the opponents back. Now you’re vastly outnumbered and half of you die, while those retreating get pushed by those who wiped your group, and people wonder why they’re getting railed at the objective.
Another great vid, thanks for this! Premades love Shatter! 😆What would you say is the best counter to drk divebombs on this map? In Onsal mid platform, I had great fun on my whm with my imp and LB combo, but have a harder time cc'ing them in Shatter b/c of the larger area and me needing to get very close while trying not to die. Perhaps a rpr or maybe even sam if I feel suicidal? 😅
Oh there is quite a few options, like Xylus says Samurai is the best anti meta pick since they all dive right in with burst damage you pop chiten on there approach, guard up then LB all those free kills :D. Monks are a solid pick you stun them and knock them into your team, if they guard or try to escape use your lb Meteodive you might die but the goal is to prevent Dark knights from hitting 100 battle high where they are almost unstoppable. Reaper Lb like you say could stall since you will always have lb before them, Silence is extremely strong from Red mages and Bards, you can even mark them for your team if everyone can keep there eyes on there location they become much easier to avoid.

Your welcome my only issue with this map is there is never objective down time there's never the time for forced combat

Too kinds glad the video could help :D

I never participate in that crap, unless its like quick in and out and the other team is busy with their big ice having an out
I always just say "that's the wrong hole" lol
Ah the usual one team rushing in hungry to steal ice while the smart third team waits for a quick pinch and guard the choke for there retreat
A wise move
Don't shout that loud in PVP, you will rile up the Rpr's they will rush in faster at the prospect off any hole XD
Thank you for your guide ^^ I'm new to frontline and I didn't understand what was happening around but now I think I can enjoy the mode better :)
Welcome to Frontline let me know how your Shatter matches go :D

Black mage high kills and damage matches on Shatter happen so often :D
@@salamanderYT I generally land between 3 and 6 kills and 20 to 30 assists playing BLM on Shatter.

Could not put it better myself :D

Sam is always fun. I might die, but at least 1 of you is going down with me 😂.
