    One of the most romantic movies between two characters was "This Property is Condemned". The electricity between Robert Redford & Natalie Wood was unbelievable.

      Respect for Redford. Poignant memories. She chose him for that role, because fundamentally she relied on shared core values and industry insight. Trust. Even jumping in the water when she feared water, speaks volumes. Natalie saw in Redford what we would all later see.... what makes RR still the "go to guy" after all these years. Gorgeous Friendship.

    Redford is one of those actors that seemed to enhance other actor's peformances. For all his stardom, he appears to be a generous type of guy. He not only had no problem sharing screen time with other stars, but had great off screen friendships with them: Natalie Wood, Paul Newman, Barbra Streisand, Dustin Hoffman....All of them shine specially bright with him.

      Yes, indeed, I'm certain that's how and why Robert started the Sundance Film Festival in Utah, to give other actors a chance without the big film moguls being involved . . .

    • @TaichiStraightlife
      @TaichiStraightlife 4 роки тому +8

      The truth of the matter is, we don't know any of these people, and what they're really like; they could well be cold and awful. That being written, YES; you can also infer, by their friendships (quoted by Fer) and their activities (at Sundance, which Carol reminded us of) that there beats a beating heart in at least some of these people, and that in all likelihood Redford's a good guy. Personally, I'm a VERY private person, someone of a recluse, so I'm very sympathetic when a person admits they don't want to be inundated by mobs of strangers. Yet in spite of that supposed attitude, Redford's done a lot of good for the industry and the nation too, I shouldn't wonder.

    What a beautiful tribute. I don't know much about Robert Redford except for recognising his name and I think he was very handsome :) I really appreciate how much he seemed to genuinely care about Natalie and invest time in her, especially considering how tough and rebellious he seemed, and weirdly didn't seem to think much of the industry, despite being such a big name. What I like about Natalie is despite being very beautiful, very warm, having a lovely film presence and being a great actress.... is how brave she was and always wanting to stretch herself and improve :)

    I had seen Natalie doing an interview with Tom Snyder on The NBC late night show hosted by him, shortly before her death. She lit up the screen with not only her stunning beauty, but also with an incredible dose of charm. I remember at that time, becoming totally smitten with her. She seemed to be a tremendous woman and person as well. When I read of her death a few months later I was shocked and saddened. I thought that a large chunk of humanity had just left us. I still miss her. RIP Natalie.

    This loving tribute makes me feel sad. Natalie was lovable for many reasons, one being her vulnerability, something that came through in whichever role she played. I loved her particularly in the role of Daisy Clover, a role that she completely understood as a child of the Hollywood movie world. I wish she'd lived beyond 43 to a ripe old age.

He is famous for the callous way he has always treated his fans...and pretty much anyone whom he isn't required to deal with professionally. Our little town took a lot of pride in that moment and the few town folks that are left sure have a lot of memories and a few home movies of that time, it's a shame that with such a all star cast that it wasn't all that successful. Natalie had a unique figure in that she was very petite yet curvaceous, and her ENTIRE face was utterly gorgeous, whereas only Hepburn's eyes were beautiful. Liz Taylor's was short, and had short, stocky legs, a short waist that got quite thick once she got past her late thirties and her body was HAIRY. Liz had to constantly shave her legs, armpits and I'm told even her arms, otherwise he was covered in thick, black hair. Once she got to forty, I have also heard that she started having a problem with facial hair too. Grace Kelly was probably one of the most feminine women ever to grace the screen, but-in all honesty-I have seen countless actresses who were vastly better-looking than her.

      Yes, I was wishing they had been married to each other as I was watching this. If it had been, we would still have her today. And yes, their children would have been beautiful, although her daughter, Natasha looks a lot like Natalie and she is almost as beautiful as her Mom. :)

    I wish Redford would help Natalie's sister in her efforts to find out the truth about how Natalie died. It's so strange that she was on her boat with 3 men (including the captain) and the next day she was gone, and how could Wagner and Walken be believed about what happened when they were surely drunk, too, like Natalie. Then when he didn't find her on the boat, her supposedly loving husband didn't report it until hours later. So strange.

      This is a good article and BTW so many of Natalie's films were a reflection of the blatant victimization that was going on, I guess back in those days where mass media couldn't share with each other they had to think they could just buy the law with no light on...thelifeandtimesofhollywood.com/exclusive-an-explosive-new-biography-reveals-the-secret-that-almost-destroyed-natalie-wood/

    • @heather6668
      @heather6668 Місяць тому +1

      Exactly. He's no innocent bystander in all of this. Walken probably knows what happened but is saying nothing. They had a row and she had bruising on her body that was not consistent with what supposedly occurred. Why on earth would she go out on deck to tie up a dinghy more securely when she was so afraid of the water. I guess if you're drunk you're maybe not thinking clearly but something's been really off since it happened and still is.
