      the screen is great looking ! i own a 352 with a heavy corroded bottom part windscreen. I don't know if there is a spare part for sale just the part that screws get screwed. (same as yours).
      Regarding the head door, is there any possibility to have stored the door at different area that the boat ? or somewhere with high moisture ? this way the wood get "bigger".

    Hi Gabrielle, on our 85 312 we replaced the lower windscreen attachment rail about 10 years ago from hr parts, it still looks gr8 but the windscreen itself is now looking tired so seeing that a replacement is now available is gr8 and will contact Ertec about a new screen. Also we have same toilet but with a small holding tank in the hanging locker (25ltrs) we have to have the anti siphon pipes behind the saloon door but with coats hanging there you don’t notice them. The holding tank discharges through the outlet pipe not the deck but is useful for a few days in harbour and I’m glad as it was there when we bought boat.

      Hey Sharon thx a lot for feedback, for me no holding tank, if I need holding tank I will use a porta potti, original I thought to replace the rail but after a better check I prefer to replace all windows

    Windscreen looks great, Gabriele. All the hardware is beautifully manufactured. Here in the US most boats have soft dodgers with isinglass windows. The isinglass scratches quite easily, like when genoa sheet hits it while tacking. I like that HR does the real glass windscreen. 👌

    Great video Gabrielle and a beautiful installation. Pity that the door no longer fits correctly. Very annoying. Is it possible that the boat has changed shape slightly due to being on the hard standing for a long time? Maybe she will relax back into shape when she is back in the water.

    Glad to see a new sea4see episode! I think the glass and frame when the bracing is installed will be substantial, as it must be when you take on the big waves....when you do the caulk at the joints, will it be clear or aluminum color? It is always interesting to me the difference in tools people use....the pipe wrench in the head is not something I have ever seen before, for example. I can almost hear the splash that is coming....

      Francis is better to avoid to use sealant under the windscreen... if you need to remove you got lot of problem.. it will come with a neoprene foam gaskets!,

    Hi guys,
    Love The quality of your work. As a naval Architect I am concerned that you haven't used vented loops on the discharge line. I know Jabsco claim their toilets are antisyphoning but that is a first line is defense but should not be relied on. For a tried and true installation have a look at Nigel Calders book Mechanical and Electrical Manual. It is worth noting that 23% of yacht sinking are caused by head issues. Regards Phil Cram

      Ciao Phil so such honour to get reply from you! I used the original hr setup ... I’m a fan of Nigel Calder book but nothing stop me to change in this year the setup or better setup for the moment I bring back the original design I need to figure out how to deal with without compromising the look and the nice installation! But at least my valve is always close when not in use....

    Bravi. Bel lavoro con il windscreen. Io possiedo un Beneteau Oceanis Clipper 473 e sto cercando il modo per sistemare al posto dell'attuale, in stoffa e plasticaccia, uno simile in vetro e alluminio. Ho cercato dappertutto, ma sembra impossibile trovarlo. Avevo da ultimo pensato ad una ditta che fa finestre, ma non credo siano in grado di eseguire il lavoro correttamente. Inoltre, mentre l'HR ha la base pronta, io ho una base tondeggiante con una rotaia curva per inserire lo sprayhood. Dalle misure fatte, comunque sembra possibile 'rettificare' la base per l'inserimento di 5 finestre in vetro rettilinee, magari con qualche piccola modifica. Mi preoccupa, oltre al lavoro non banale, anche il costo. Se non sono indiscreto, qual è l'ordine di grandezza del materiale (lavoro escluso?). A proposito, in che zona d'Italia lavorate? Io sono di Trieste e qui non trovo nessuno che faccia simili cose (non sanno nemmeno cosa vuol dire...). Saluti

      Ciao Bruno!!!Grazie per avermi scritto per quanto riguarda il lavoro noi non siamo artigiani io sono un appassionato di Barchr a cui piace restaurare e soprattutto navigare! quello che vedi è un lavoro di persone appassionate lo facciamo per il piacere di farlo non per denaro! per quanto riguarda il Windscreen risulta alquanto difficile trovare qualche produttore qua in Italia e i costi sarebbero molto elevati chi fa questo lavoro è una ditta danese che produce anche per Hallberg-Rassy e altri cantieri. Ho capito com’è fattoil tuo windscreen era come il mio della vecchia barca il Folkboat per fare questo devi farti una sagoma di compensato, e poi dividi in quante finestre vuoi ( secondo il mio parere la base o la rotaia deve appoggiare in un piano)dopodiché puoi spedirle m in Danimarca e loro te lo fanno. Per il preventivo comunque devi mandare su tutte le misure e i pezzi che ti servono sappi comunque che Un lavoro del genere non ti costa meno di 3000 / 4000 eurini ....

    It is very likely that your door will fit again when you get mast and rig on the boat, as well as when the boat gets into the water. Remember that the entire boat “sits” once it is fully rigged. Also remember that a septic tank is an essential requirement in many waters as soon as you have a toilet installed!.

    • @sea4see
      @sea4see  4 роки тому +1

      Kenneth thx for your advise!! I know the septic tank rule but I didn’t want install it!! If I need I will use a portapotti ones ... is incredible considering pollution the organic bio stuff (shit...) fish eat very happy and lot of chemical are still discarded on to the sea...

    Maybe because boat is on hard, flexing due jacks is the reason door won't fit. In water strain would be evenly distributed but that's not the case when boat is on hard.

      Twisting on the hard makes sense but on my Najad I found that higher humidity levels in the boat during winter made one door jam - as soon as I ran the dehumidifier for a couple of days in the winter or experienced warmer weather the problem went away.

    Your toilet is wrong installed, you will have the water to flod in to toilet backwards, means you outlet host should have gone up above waterline and then out to sea, and why didt you installed a holding tank at the same time, it is the most commen now a days, pec when ankring.

    • @sea4see
      @sea4see  4 роки тому

      This was the original setup made from Hallberg-Rassy....I didn’t want install an holding tank or at least not now.... appreciate your comment I will check it out

    • @Scramasax
      @Scramasax 4 роки тому

      If you make a bend upwards in the hose, you will need an anti siphon valve at the top of the bend, otherwise it won't make any difference. Then when the boat is heeling over you might get water coming into the toilet anyways. By installing a holding tank you completely get rid of that problem. Plus a holding tank is mandatory in many areas, like for example in the Baltic.
      In Ellös it helps that the over board valve easily accessible, so you can close it when sailing. Now the check valve keeps the water out from the toilet, but we all know they will fail pretty fast...

    • @sea4see
      @sea4see  4 роки тому

      Scramasax hello friend! I used the original setup Hallberg rassy did.. the discard hose is always closed when sailing so no problem and the intake is over the water level when run to the head.. so I think to don’t have problem. But I will check when in water...Holding tank? No . If I need to sail in protect water I will use a portapotti. I don’t want make to much holes on the deck ... t

    • @Scramasax
      @Scramasax 4 роки тому

      @@sea4see I totally understand! The holding tank makes the installation surprisingly complicated and ugly and after a few years also smelly! It will require regular renewal to keep the unpleasant odour away. What is good in a holding thank is that you can discharge the content when and where ever it's the most convenient. For example to a reception facility ashore, to sea when far enough from ashore, on your neighbours deck if you don't like him...

    • @sea4see
      @sea4see  4 роки тому +1

      Scramasax 🤣🤣🤣🤣👍🏻👍🏻 especially when a ugly sailing week anchor near you I prefer to discharge in the water when the noisy people swimming around 🤣
