GOUACHE TUTORIAL: How to paint a Fantasy Illustration using Gouache, Acrylics and Masking Film

- Hey everyone!
In this video I share the painting process of my latest illustration which is a Sword and Sorcery inspired artwork. Here I use Masking Film (or Frisket Film) to crerate a mask and preserve areas of my illustration, using Airbrush to paint the background with Acrylics and the characters with Guache. The lightning coming form the Wizard´s hand were painted with both Acrylics and Gouache, and then emphasized with a glow effect using Airbrush and Gouache.

I think what struck me about this the most was the wizard's pose! Gives the scene much more intensity. 😁 love this!
@@ShiloWaters yeah, I think his pose was really nice! I’ve been using “the bean” technique to build up gestures on my sketches and it helps a lot to create nice poses!

Yeah, I wanted to bring some old fantasy inspiration to the hero and He-Man was one of my references!

Hello, I also bought some gouache paints:) I want to try it out. But I am absolutely bad at painting with brush. Graphite pencil is more my medium to draw with. But without training I cannot get better. Amazing artwork :)

Painting is something you need studying and training every day. It’s worth it to watch some tutorials and try that out. Adding color to your drawings is something really nice ‘cause it makes the drawing coming to life.
When I saw the thumbnail, I instantly thought of He-Man... and indeed, you mentioned him in your video!
