Thanks so much! I accidentally skipped the "Enable OEM Unlock" Step which was causing a fastboot loop. This video was very informative!!!
Thanks man! Was easy peasy doing this! Already had the SDK set up from my Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 and Galaxy Nexus so this took less than 10 minutes to do.
Great thanks! My boyfriend just walked me through how to unlock the bootloader with your video! :)
this is why i love nexus its so easy to unlock and root
Another great job Tim, oh yea!!!
Hi
after I write that "fastboot oem unlock" nothing happen on tablet, and the pc says: waiting for any device
what should I do?
can anybody help me?
Worked, thanks!
Thanks for the visual tutorial. :)
I'm curious to see how secure this makes the boot loader.
OMFG 😂😂😂😂👍 you just got your nexus 9 XD
Why try to root it yet? X posed won't work yet and neither will a few root apps as they aren't optimized for android 5.0 :D so please explain :)
Thank you,
Jason
Is there any way to unlock the bootloader without going through the main menus of the OS? I have a Nexus 9 that is stuck on the 'Select Wi-Fi' during setup. There is no skip button, so it's currently unuseable until I get past that point. I've tried connecting to different routers, hot spots, etc, with no luck. Yes, I've rebooted the modem. I've even tried re-flashing the OS but it wont except older versions.
I need someone who's technical without answering with the usual 'try-rebooting-your-router' answers. There's gotta be some technical work-around that I'm not figuring out, yes?
Is it possible to flash stock rom updates (e.g. from LRX22C to LRX22L) without unlocking the Nexus 9?
When I run adb reboot bootloader, it works but I don't see FASTBOOT USB, it just says FASTBOOT and the fastboot oem unlock command then doesn't do anything because it doesn't see the device anymore. Help!
Nested videos... XD I enjoy your content, so I'm not complaining...
adb wont recognize my device i have update my drivers and still no luck. im not sure what to do
Any Word or Thoughts on Xposed for 5.0 Lollipop?

Did you check enable OEM unlock in developer settings?
Worked like a charm, thanks a lot!
if i cant get back into to os to check enable OEM unlock in developer settings? the furthest mine goes is into sign in with google acct and i think someone else was signed in with their acct. now i cant get in to os?
+Tim Schofield (Qbking77) What if the device is stuck in an endless boot loop? I can get into the fastboot screen, but the device is Locked and I can't get into the OS to unlock it.
+Dan Ruthrauff same here...any help would be great

Hi Tim. my Nexus 9 got bricked and locked. and I get a red warning sign that my device is corrupt. all this happened after a software security update. can you please help me
+Rakony Slicks I have the same issue after a security update. Did you find a way around it?
I just tried this link and it worked. Although I couldn't unlock the bootloader to reload the image, it did allow me to sideload an update which did fix it. forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-9/help/failed-marshmallow-update-stock-android-t3226704
+Frank Johnson how did it allow you to sideload if you couldn't unlock? It says FAILED for me?
my device literally does nothing when I type the unlock command. My device is still functional and oem unlocking is enabled but its like my device never receives the command in fastboot mode.
+SweetNothings had to get a new cord and do the old school Samsung USB driver method and installed and agaim
+SweetNothings adb* sorry autocorrect on the tab and was fast typing
Anybody know when lollipop OTA supposed to hit the nexus 7
Did everything accordingly but I get this message:
PS C:\Windows\system32> fastboot oem unlock
...
(bootloader) ability is 0
(bootloader) Permission denied for this command!
OKAY [ 0.008s]
finished. total time: 0.008s
help?
Ok I found it:
"But remember, to get to developer Settings you need to go into Settings > About Phone > and tap on Build number about 9 times to open up developer settings. Then go into Developer Settings and turn on the Developer Settings, then you’ll need to check the “Enable OEM Unlock”. Now on this review unit that I have here, it was checked automatically. So that might or might not be the case for everyone."

***** What if you can't get the device to boot? :) Still waiting for HTC to RMA mine.
Do the nexus 6
Why? Why HTC just put this ugly bootloader instead of a standard Nexus one? It looks like it was made in MS Paint...
Who the f*** cares how the bootloader looks like?! I mean seriously? :D
"go ahead"
*drink*
