To anyone trying this for 3D printing, the snap fit can be a lot more snug. Don't cut off too much of the socket with the offset plane; also, remember your minimum thickness for your printer... Check the walls of the socket are not to thin, if you need to, offset the external face to add thickness, and also make sure the cylinder is not too thin to snap off to stress. I used this tutorial and made these adjustments, and have a perfect, sturdy ball joint fit in a tool I have developed.
Excellent. Not only did you show me how to do it, you made the tutorial easy to follow. The only thing I'm not sure about is how to know when I've returned the ball precisely where it was before moving it up and out of the socket for making the petals. But, of course, that doesn't keep me from printing them.
Excellent tutorial. None of the useless banter I find in most tutorials, just the procedures. Thanks.
Excellent demonstration. Thank you. Cant believe how much information clearly explained in such a short demonstration

Thanks for the suggestion. The tolerance is a bit tight so a small offset will help the fit.
Very nice - glad I stumbled across this quick tutorial. You did a good job with the pace and instructions.
