Oh Quinton youre such a magician on guitar......and the Guild is a nice one too. Thanks always Paul 😄🎶
A lot of sound for the money 👍 Nicely played as usual 👍
Thanks again lads
Great tone! Guilds are superb guitars. Thanks!
Love Guild guitars :-)
I purchased one of these and I absolutely love it. It feels really good and sounds fabulous.
This is my favorite show.
You're way too kind!
Nice sounding Guild and reasonably priced for a try. Thanks Quinton and Paul.
I just tried one of these. I love the sound. I was having trouble with the doubled strings spreading away from each other. I have a 30" U2 electric baritone/bassVI. The necks are vastly different. I would put the time to get the touch more to my liking.
I enjoyed the quick snippet of Alabama Shakes "Hold On" that you played during the demo but wanted more. How about posting the whole song on the baritone 8-stringer? :-)
Guitar sounds lovely!, It seems just a bit too large in size for complete comfort though
When soloing, kind of sounds like two guitars start playing together all of a sudden when playing those double notes!!...interesting idea!!...
Paul said, “not an everyday guitar”. But might be mine. I always tune down a full step, D to D, which reduces string tension by a full 20%...TOO loose. The 27” scale on this, with medium strings, (baritone strings are 70-16), tuned to D should give perfect string pull... gonna try!
@Particle Man No, with 56-13 medium strings tuned D to D on a 27” scale, the string pull is actually less than E to E on a 25.5” scale. I have a string pull calculator, and checked and double checked.... should be fine... remember, the baritone strings are 70-16..
Please do a comparison between the Guild 8 string baritone and the Taylor 8 string baritone.
I just got my Guild 8 string last week and am really having fun with it.
Walk off the Earth does that song ;)
Opheilia!
Just ordered one of these. What guild case fits it? Just the standard jumbo acoustic case?
Put a .022W on the 2nd string!!...John Pearse offers it in their baritone string set!!...
Great review! Any chance you can review some 'GUILD' models from the Westerly Collection line up? They sound great for the price point. Cheers
This is from the Westerly line.
@@jed1166 - Thanks John, I should've have worded the aforementioned better , I meant that 'more' deluxe models from the 'Westerly Collection' get reviewed. Cheers
@@TheSoulsandRevive I tune D to D, and don’t like loose strings, so I am thinking of buying this and putting medium string tuned DGCFAD.... should give me perfect string pull!
how about demoing the pickup?...
March to the sea
Sorry for this question, probably obvious for more accomplished players. In the standard tuning for this guitar which is B to B, how does this stack with accompanying some one on a normal acoustic guitar playing in standard tuning? Anybody??
Capo is an easy solution
Capo on the 5th fret is an option but it defeats the point of the baritone. Learn what the new chords are on the Bari, for example the E shape is now a B on the Baritone. F shape is actually C, G shape is D, A is E, C is G, D is A. So if you have a standard guitar playing D, Baritone playing a G shape would sound awesome.
Why do most baritone demos all turn around the G chord?...
What gauges are used?
D'Addario EXP23 - Coated Phosphor Bronze (.016-.070) & Octave Strings (.012 & .014)
skip to 6:00 to hear the guitar.
Walk Off the Earth was the band name....
Walk Off The Earth
Righty right 😄
Yes!
Thanks daddio307!
Where are they built?...really affordable!!...
China.
@@SGBassplayer ...China...I love China!!...hi!..hi!...
They are made in China. It's top and sides are laminate. It will not age in time. What you hear is what you get.it will not age with time.A laminate top will project.and it is strong. Definitely not for everyone but a good entry level Baritone for anyone interested in this type of guitar and tuning.
@@michaelvaladez6570 top is solid Sitka spruce… not laminated… it will definitely “age” and open up with playing hours.
L-O-L-A LOLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
IT'S cool, I really like the tone
Lola was the first song that popped into my head when Q strummed a bit at the opening of the vid.
James Taylor's wet dream.
I kind of get DADGAD vibes out of the B Standard from this guitar. To my ear, it sounds similar to DADGAD
8səc play Btweən EIGHT mins CHhatteR ⁉️🤔😣😖☻️
made in China? Trump asked me...
