Or feel ashamed of what your people did in the past. All people have done bad/good things. Your people have done greatly outweigh the bad. Some of the smartest people in the world come from Germany. And you ask yourself. How come all of them would turn against a people like that? It's not like it was blind hatred or because they were stupid. Maybe there was something to it. It's not like you do that for no reason. Just look at their track record. I mean, if I were kicked out of that many countries. You wouldn't trust me.😂🙋🏼‍♂️

Over the ensuing 80 years since World War II, the Ju-87's Jericho Trumpet may have been repurposed to represent the sound of literally anything falling in popular culture, but during WWII, it was a sound with a degree of horror akin to the Aztec Death Whistle, as well as the sound of the A-10 Thunderbolt II's GAU-8 Autocannon in the present day.

The reason the wheel spats were sometimes removed, as you see in some of this footage, was because in places like North Africa, on unimproved runways, they would often get clogged with sand. Mud was another culprit, of course, as often happened at dirt airstrips in Russia during heavy rains. Removing the spats allowed the main gear wheels to operate unimpeded.

Just watched the latest episode of Air Warriors on the Smithsonian channel (highly recommended) and they covered the Stuka bomber. One of the most fascinating things was that during a really steep dive, the plane would hit 350 MPH and 6 G’s or greater. So the pilots would often black out and sometimes even crash before they could pull up. So they added some air brakes and re-designed the bomb release mechanism so that a magnetic pulse would be sent to the tail rudder to automatically lift the plane out of the dive giving the possibly unconscious pilot time to recover and fly away. What’s also fascinating is that most of these improvements were invented by a German aerospace engineer with Jewish ancestry who, herself, was persecuted by the Nazis.

Funny thing is I feel like planes such as the Ju 87s, IL2s, A1 Skyraiders, and A10 ground attackers are some of the best moral ways to wage war. Their untouchable level of precision meant that despite their psychological trauma they were capable of landing severe blows to military targets hiding within civilians with minimal damage or death dealt to civilians. In fact the only reason these planes had such a scary effect on civilians was because most survived their attacks and so were able to recall the sounds and blood curdling cries (Also when they were intentionally directed at civilians, they obviously did as they were designed to.) These aircraft if anything became so unpopular because they minimized the risk of enemy civilians by maximizing thr risk of their own operators. Anyone notice how there are no operating Ju87s today despite 12,000 planes produced? Planes like the P51 replaced that of the Ju87, and planes like F35 and F15 replaced the A10. And the worst incarnation of that in my opinion has got to be the new attack drones. They minimize the risk of the service member life using it to 0, but every time they attack a military target hiding amongst civilians, they have at least 2 dozen associated civilian casualties...

@@GratDuForloradeArgumentet TBH I don't consider the nukes to be that bad or deadly, not considering that before these nukes, several conventional Tokyo firebombings each with the death toll of both nukes combined occurred with the Japanese government and people still somewhat determined to weather the damages. Had the nukes not happened, at least another 100+ conventional napalm firebombings would have been required. But yeah, the 1944-45 Tokyo firebombings, Dresden & Berlin bombings, and others like them were some crazy Allied shit as well. WW2 really was the end to all laws of war, since any and all sides broke them time and time again. But yeah, WW1 and onwards, overall war is bad.

Known as foley artists the sound department in many movies used stock sound samples to dramatise and enhance the movie experience, often giving a warped perception of reality to people. Because the sound is limited and mostly coming from a small speaker on a TV or cinema people get a false idea of the actual war experience of being bombed or nearly hit by artillery fire. Much more severe and deafening in real life I have been told. Some people have been dazed in shock for days after suffering an attack
