Nothing says "cementing your place as an icon" like performing a the Super Bowl Halftime show. Our queen, Lady Gaga slayed history last year and this weekend we'll see if Justin Timberlake can do the same (by hopefully giving Queen Janet Jackson the redemption she deserves). I agree that what he did should've been handled better on his part, but it was NOT his fault that Janet's boob was exposed like that.
I’m gonna play devils advocate. He was about 21 at the time. She was a seasoned entertainer. She knew what was gonna happen and she chose that. She just didn’t think it would cause what it caused. Justin did say oh I did leave her hanging as I was only starting my career and I was told to keep my head down. In fairness it’s so long ago and Janet was gone from the music scene for quite a while. So I think she just faded out. Now she is an icon but she was not innocent by any means.
Ale Barriocanal It was not solely his fault and I understand but it was part his fault. What I was most disappointed in was how he handled it after. In the press interviews he did after the incident, JT literally rid himself of any blame and never once defending Janet. Whereas his career was practically untouched, Janet’s was dragged through the mud. JT was backpedaling and pussy poppin’ for his dear life and being a white, straight young man, America forgave him. I couldn’t stand his ass after I watched his interviews and have never liked home since then...he definitely should apologies to Janet and if Super Bowl can bring back JT, they should have brought back Janet too because it was both their faults.

My reply was written in the format of a question, implying that I don’t know the true outcome of the hypothetical situation I proposed and would be welcome to a confirmation as to whether my proposed outcome would be correct or not. My proposed outcome is an educated guess based off years of being a Tyler Oakley fan and observing him as someone who passionately displays admiration for the people he’s a fan of, which in most cases, would lead to a passionate defense on their behalf if they are disrespected or disregarded. I was simply making a point that he should put himself into the shoes of this Paul McCartney and Rolling Stones fan who, justifiably, in my opinion, interpreted Tyler’s eye-rolling and hand waving as “disgust.” Is this the response you wanted? Tyler's reaction to U2's performance was beyond disrespectful. That performance was right after 9/11 and the names projected on the screen were the names of all the victims. It was a beautiful performance that showed unity amongst the American people in a time of unimaginable fear and grief. If you don't like their music, fine, but you could at least show a little respect.
