I can't believe this video does not have 1M views and 980K likes. This is AWESOME teaching. I have been scanning the web relentlessly searching for a comprehensive system to study and create my own arrangements for a few weeks to no avail. And then, all of a sudden, magic youtube algorithm + tech house goddesses send me this video. An epiphanyyyyyyyyy!!!!! Thanks Michael Pitluk, you have a devoted fan here

One trick I figured out for creating cool top melodies is creating a melody that has long notes. Then using the arp plugin in live, and putting a reverb on it. It might sound shitty at first, but if you mess with a ott compressor and gate you get cool rhythmic effects. Then once you have a rough idea of what you like you can freeze and flatten the midi into a wav format. Then either warp it into different rhythms or mess with the clip settings. I never saw a youtuber show this trick so im sharing it. Doesn't always work but if you try it on certain tracks it makes cool rhythms and effects. Just a little tip.

The arp creates a pattern in the midi, and then the gate can cut out certain reverb frequencies making some weird rhythms.

Sensational this video, I found your channel worked some topics in reedit, and certainly helped me a lot to analyze a song to use reference. THANK YOU VERY MUCH, your channel and fuck

Michael Pitluk well I'm certainly making it look a lot harder than you did 🤣 I am managing to break down the main elements, but I'm definitely not picking up layers used for certain sounds. I guess that comes with practice.

Top tune, & gold info regarding the structure and frequencies in the track. I feel dark tech house is going to be big in 2018, That 303 has a hypnotic vibe to it and drives the track the added sharp peaks to the 303 are class too. Top info by you too and top system.
I use & is new to logic pro X. But still found this very interesting. Cheers man. Newly subbed & liked.

Ohh that is super smart, making a blueprint for yourself kind of.
Although im kinda struggling with my beat, its kinda okay, but it has this kind of emptyness in the middle without any groove.
And i told myself i want to do it from the samples, but definitely no loops :D
