Thanks for making this video and sharing your thoughts. My Q3 status led (screen side) flashes green when charging via usb-C, but flashes red when charging wirelessly, wondering if you and others are the same? Or wireless charging for my Q3 is not working properly?
Thanks for the response@@threeamigoshk it seems like multiple people are saying the same thing, I get flashing green lights on the LCD side when charging via usb-c but a pulsing red light when charging on the wireless pad. I don't have the Leica branded Native Union charging pad to compare but I would love to know what your results are (what status LED colors you're getting on both the Leica pad and your third party Qi charger). Thanks so much!
Do you guys use a power adapter thst is 100W or USB PD standard? My suggestion is to you a different poeer adapter for your third-party qi wireless charger and see if you get the same result. It should stay with a green light on, according the manual if it is flashing it means charging error.
Sorry forgot to add! Glad you enjoyed the video. Not sure if you are based off US, but walmart is selling it for 20 USD! www.walmart.com/ip/CHOETECH-Dual-Wireless-Charger-QC3-0-Adapter-included-5-Coils-Qi-Certified-Fast-Wireless-Charging-Pad-Compatible-with-iPhone-11-11Pro-11Pro-Max-XS/930667062
bought the Coetech pad, but when the Pad is Charging the Q3 with my Anker 30 Watt power brick the Pad is charging, but the charging light on the q3 is red instead of green. Do you have green or red charging light?
bought one of these choetech charger but only outputting a max of 450mA to my phone, i.e. it takes forever to charge.. now I'm not sure if I have received a faulty charger? Can you guys do a video comparison on charging speed between the Leica and Choetech chargers?
I just testes with my iPhone seems to charge as per my other wireless chargers which is relatively fast. One thing to check are you using the power brick that it comes with or you using your own power brick ? In my case I am using my own anker one which has QC on the port, not sure if that helps?
@@threeamigoshk have tried a few different bricks as mine doesn't come with one. I have the Belkin 108w and now ugreen 100w and both showing to output around 400-460mA on Ampere (android app) when charging my pixel. Have not been able to find any other wireless chargers similar to the choetech with multiple coils.. so a bit unsure if I got a dud.
Just to update I've contacted the ebay seller and they confirm that pixel phones fall under the "other" category in the charger's compatibility list so it'll only output 5w. @threeamigoshk can you confirm how long it takes for the q3 to charge on this device? I have yet to receive mine unfortunately.
i see! maybe thats why with iPhone i didn't notice a slow charge. Hm I haven't tested the exact duration but so far my routine is i get home around 6pm and leave on the charging pad and around 8pm is fully charged
Thanks for making this vid! I picked up the same 5 coil Qi charger and while using it my Leica Q3 charing led (in the rear) blinks red. Is that expected? Normally the charging led is green via usb.
i dont have my q3 to test anymore but if i recall it would pulsate res with third party qi charger and then constant green when fully charged but unsure what the meaning of pulsating red is
Yeap, we tested it recently outdoors just pictures and it did get hot quick... In Hong Kong has been pretty hot so that doesn't help, but for a full metal body I guess is the only way it can dissipate the heat.
Unfortunately the Choetech does not provide sufficient output wattage to charge the Leica Q3 quickly. Ignore the LED on the charging pad and look at what the light is doing on the back of camera. If its flashing Red, it's charging slowly, if it's flashing Green its charging quickly. The Choetech should be discounted as being a suitable charging pad for the Q3. Incidentally, even if an exceedingly capable PSU is used, the Choetech will still not give sufficient output.
@@threeamigoshk The maximum charging mode of the Choetech (allegedly) as quoted on Choetech's packaging of their T535-S 5 Coil Dual Fast device is 10w. By the fact that the Choetech does not fast charge the Leica Q3, I suspect that Choetech's marketing department's stated specifications are inaccurate.
Honestly, is the same with a charging your phone wirelessly. I am quite used to wireless charging and for me, being able to just drop my camera on my desk instead of plugging a cable or removing the battery is quite convenient. Specially, if that wireless charger can also be used for my phone
Use the battery charger. DONT plug your camera into a power source that plugs into your house power. Thats a great way to brick your camera. Charge the battery and put it into your expensive camera.

Thanks for the support! Are you using this with original Leica wireless pad or third party? We will have a check on ours and let you know!

I use the Zens Liberty charger with 16 coils, works perfectly with the Q3
Thanks for the video can you put a link for the pad please?

@@threeamigoshk I’m in Uk will try Amazon once I have the model number thanks
Got it, honestly if you get any 5 coil wireless charger pad it will suffice. Doesn't need to be that one specifically.

Where did you find the charging pad? Didn’t see it on Amazon or the Choetech portal
I just checked mine was from eBay, but honestly any wireless charging pad that has at least 5 coils should do the trick!

that isn't expected, make sure you using power adapter that has quick charge equivalent or try another power adapter to teet it out

Got my Q3 yesterday. Surprised by how warm it gets in use. Any experience of that yourselves?

thats strange as the Leica wireless charger is supposed to be a 10w, while choetech if i recall is rated @ 15W.

Great content keep it up, but video grading and audio gotta be improved;)
thanks for the feedback! edit : We just switched to Resolve and thanks to you notice that the export to youtube has a shift..thanks again!
It's the Native Union Drop XL. Costs you 50 bucks. You're welcome
I would never use this nonsense with my Q3. What's the point? The charger needs to be plugged in so you might as well plug in the camera.
