I have 2023 jetta with 85000 kms, should i do the transmission fluid change ? If yes then why the vw itself says its a lifetime fluid and you don’t need to get it changed 🙄
Hi there, check out our blog article on these "lifetime" transmission fluid claims and what they really mean: www.blauparts.com/blog/what-does-lifetime-transmission-fluid-really-mean.html
Change it, there’s no such thing as lifetime fluid. The manufacturer only wants the transmission to last longer than the warranty, after that it’s on you after that.
Hi there! If the transmission fluid temperature is above 35 degrees Celsius when starting the fluid change, or the ambient temperature is above 90 degrees Fahrenheit you will likely run out of time later when performing the remaining transmission fluid filling and level procedure steps by exceeding the 45-degree Celsius maximum fluid level temperature limit causing an incorrect fluid level. Check out step 1 of the instructions here for more info: www.blauparts.com/blog/how-to-change-vw-jetta-taos-golf-transmission-fluid-8-speed-09s.html#step-by-step-vw-transmission-fluid-change-instructions-09s-8-speed
@@blauparts I was asking about doing this with a cold transmission and you only mentioned about making sure its not above 35. I am going to guess its okay then.
Hey thanks for the question. As mentioned in the video we have a link in the video description to our blog that highlights the VW 09S transmission fluid change interval, fluid capacities, and the recommended fluid specifications for the transmission. Any other questions feel free to ask.
Okay, you're using ATF ULV! But you don't say what transmission model it is because I believe and understand that the 1.4 engine has one transmission and the 2.0 engine has another.
Yes, the transmission featured in this video is the 8-speed 09S automatic transmission. The 2.0T engines found in the Jetta GLI models use a different 7-speed DSG transmission that this video would NOT apply to. Be sure to check the video description for more info, handy links to the T-ULV ATF we used, and our ATF change kits for these transmissions.

Great video. Thank you so much.
I can't see the link for the adapter
Would you recommend warming the car up or can this be done cold... ie under 31 c?

How often are you supposed change this fluid

Does anyone else know where I can buy the exact adapter tool? Their website says its out of stock.
It should be in stock now, check it out here: www.blauparts.com/vw-transmission-fluid-fill-adapter-pump-tool-09s-8-speed.html

Non-serviceable filter (1:12)?! Planned obsolescence at its finest.
may be true, but this transmission has proven reliability since 2019. asin warner transmissions are amongst the best.
Dude get some power tools.
