As much as I love the fact you got Alexa to respond to alternate commands, you must get all the arcades off of Alexa'a power management. Having them in the on position, and taking raw power from a remotely controlled power switch will eventually damage all of the cabinets' power inputs. They need to be powered on, and off at the switches for proper startups, and shutdowns, otherwise, it's like having a PC take a raw power on/off cycle during a power outage, and return. Other than that, I think you've done an amazing job on your collection. Now, all you need is an old payphone, and jukebox to really complete the illusion of an 80s arcade/bar. Thanks for the tour. :)
Thanks! And that’s good feedback. Makes sense. I noticed all the new machines don’t have a static on and off switch now, rather a spring slide to power on. The lights will still be cool though 😅
@@HippoBytes Indeed. I forgot to mention how much more important it is to leave the newer cabs off remote power. They actually started making them go through "graceful" power-up/down cycles. They're even more like regular computers, than the older models. Definitely can leave the effects lighting on the remote power system, for sure. :)
That looks great! I love your set up and the whole 80’s atmosphere. My basement kinda looks similar to yours. It’s great having our own arcade as adults. 👍🏻
Nice setup! This would be my dream area for gaming and relaxing. I watched the entire tour. Now excited for those three 2600 games you will be reviewing next. 😅
We are kindred spirits. Not only do we have the same rugs, but my arcade also has a playable console museum! I am jealous of your 2600 collection. I only have about half that many. And we are both amateur astronomers!
@@HippoBytes I have been an amateur astronomer for over 50 years now (I was 9 when I got my first telescope, so I'm not THAT old!). I did the astrophotography thing with both film and CCDs. Now I mostly do what I guess they call they call "video astronomy". I love getting to 19th magnitude stars and 16th magnitude galaxies with 4 20 second exposures stacked together. The images might not be super pretty, but I have always been a chaser of faint fuzzies, and it's mind blowing to me that I can now punch so deeply with a C11 from my driveway.
@@theoldar that’s super impressive - so hard to get those faint fuzzies if you can even find them at that magnitude! I’ve not done much deep space, most Milky Way shots in the desert- but my bud Stephen Hummel at the McDonald Observatory in west Texas posts some amazing images he gets to take. I bow to you.
WOW! I love the retro console setup, I would never leave that barn lol! That's a nice collection of classic Atari games too. Its my dream to eventually build an at home arcade. I have the space for it, just can't afford it.
OMG! This is so cool! What a wonderful space, this is absoltuely amazing, you should throw retro arcade events, £$30 a ticket, bring your own booze and you provide the snacks!
Yeah just popcorn & coke machine and $25 cent change dispenser! Amazing I would like to book a reservation… you captured the arcade feeling and it’s amazing! Book me a ticket I’m coming to visit
I absolutely love your arcade it gives off a nice vibe. If you don't mind me asking, I'm looking to build something like this, what's the dimensions of the little arcade/retro system section, I really like the long thin 'room' you've got there and I think it's got a better charm than most square rooms I see people do home arcades with.
I had a square room (you can see an older video) and I love the open feel of this much more for sure! Respond to this so I have a reminder to measure tomorrow 😅 the two rugs in there are 12x6.
@@HippoBytes *responds* I had watched your square room one a while back, I think that's why this was recommended to me. My guess then is it's probably If that's the case it's probably 30 or 32 by 10 or 12 would be my guess. Thanks!
I’ll stick to the 1ups. I always get them on sale/clearance and the original are too expensive and take up a lot more space. However, if 1up doesn’t come out with a Spy Hunter soon I may have to reconsider.
I had a professional installer do it in my old game room, he had a neon carpet book. These I just ordered two rugs on Amazon. Joy Carpets Space Explorer Area... www.amazon.com/dp/B004GG3UZ6?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Absolutely beautiful !!!! That is a dream come true for us 50 year old gamers 😊 . I love it !!!! Thanks for sharing this with us .
😅 thanks! It certainly is a dream and if I knew at 10 years old I'd have this, I'd certainly freakt TF out
Absolutely amazing. Awesome work. 👍👍😍😍

Yes it is 😅😅
Your place is overwhelmingly amazing! Congratulations!
Thanks so much! 🙏
Well done. Thanks for sharing your awesome space. :)
Thanks so much! I certainly appreciate the kind words!
POOR HORSE!... had to put it down & turn it into glue to put together all your arcades,...
We also made dog food, so it was all for a good cause!

What a great setup. You must be an ol’fart like me because you like the old Atari and Coleco stuff. Great vid.
Thanks and I certainly am! 😅

Next week on MTV "Cribs"...HippoBytes.
😂😂🙏🙏
I would happily live inside of your old horse barn sir. 😆

No Tempest!?
looks great!
Thanks!
Wow I don’t think I’d ever want to leave
hello very beautiful room can you tell me the link where you bought the planet rugs?
Ha the computer start was hilarious. Like the set up. Are you thinking getting any original arcades?
I’ll stick to the 1ups. I always get them on sale/clearance and the original are too expensive and take up a lot more space. However, if 1up doesn’t come out with a Spy Hunter soon I may have to reconsider.
awesome set up!
Awesome. Perfect Holodeck startup 😊
You scored the Star Wars and Tron cabs for 250 or less!?
Kool setup.... Question what is the dimensions of barn/gameroom? H/L/W...
Thanks!!
The two rugs in there are 12x6. I'm not home but, I think its about 32 x 12 in that whole area.
Damn, this is nerd heaven. I'd absolutely love to do something like this, if only I had money lol Nice setup (:
Idk of you modded the Mortal Kombat cabinet to include the Root Beer Tapper game.
😅 That cabinet has 12 games on it - good eye!
No Coleco Head to Head Hockey?
Where di you get the large arcade rugs?

Amazing!
That's really cool!!
Dimensions of the arcade/retro console areas?
Omg so cool please do system link. 2 TVs and 2 Xbox 360s and midnight club la and tones of others!
looks pretty cool. i prefer original arcade machines with crt's, but i can see why some people collect these 1up arcade machines😅
There’s an Atari sitting on the pool table.
😅 LOL!
So nice!!!! Love it. I wanna try Unholy 💀💀💀
Unholy is based on a Brazilian legend developed by one of my fav 2600 developers. Little adventure style mixed with some action.
There's a lot to be said about the originals, I'll never sell mine.
Dude this is so f*ckin cool. You are my idol. Great work man👏👍🤙🕹🎮
😅 Thanks so much!
i played this video game
Which one?
Some Game Pass game where you build an arcade out of a laundromat lol
😂@@kidkique
lol when the alexa couldnt understand you lol
man what shame you have a really cool building, should get some real cabs
Did you really say "heck" to me? Please don't swear on the internet.
I’ll do better 😳
A bunch of Arcade1Ups.
Yessir! I think I paid on averge $200-$250 for most. I like them because they are affordable and you can fit more than a full size.
I'm a simple man, I see an Arcade 1up arcade and I click dislike.
its not an arcade...that are fake-machines
Wii sucked
where did you find these for so cheap?
Awesome setup! What is the name of the company where you buy your ! ups? Thank you!
