We're not opposed to character creation for future titles, but we unfortunately we were not able to include one in Eternal Strands. That said, we're quite proud of the cast of characters we've created for this first release, and we're excited for players to experience the story. We hope you'll give it a try!

You'll also have a bow & arrow and a heavy two-hander weapon at your disposal. Each weapon type can be imbued with a type of magic (flame/ice/kinetic) that will give it a unique ability - there's a total of 9 different magical weapons that you can craft this way!

Recently though it seems like every new title is less focused on the actual character and seems forced. In the last few weeks, I've played through (and enjoyed), Flintlock, Dungeons of Hinterberg and Creatures of Ava. I cannot tell you any of the character names though, all forgotten already. At least with a character creator you have the opportunity to make it more personally relevant.

The strong girlboss protagonist, the graphics, the focus on relationships, the deliberate exclusion of the type of person who buys the majority of videogames, the focus on the voice actors in the press release rather than on gameplay. All of it points to woke disaster. If a game is good then it doesn't need to focus on these things, and when they're the foot it puts forward then it never ends up being a good product. Even Baldurs Gate 3, the rare exception that proves the rule regarding woke games, was not woke at all for most of it's development. That came later. When a game is woke from the off and is built around it, then it goes badly, and people hyping up inevitably bad games that focus more on identity, relationships and Fortnite style graphics (no budget is not an excuse, it's a lazy art style and the lighting is terrible) does not end well and pushes the industry in a bad direction. This sort of slop is not good for the genre. No doubt it will be nominated for a half dozen awards at TGA because it ticks the right boxes though we all know what the end result is likely to be.
