This is the most hauntingly beautiful arrangement of this song I have heard Marianne Faithful sing! Your can hear her life in her voice, all its joys, pains, sorrows. She has lived life, fallen down, fought, got up and come out on top. Brava Ms Faithfull, we are better because of you...

And so beautiful. Beautiful girl, but now... Know it's many years ago, but still. Love her speaking voice as well. So intelligent and so much insight. Watch this at least twice a month.

As a 70 year old bass player I repeatedly watch the different clips of the Lucy Jordan ballad, and I am spellbound. I absolutely love Marrianne and despite her sad episodes I have the greatest respect for her. It is such a lovely thing to hear in more recent times she has at last come out on top.

Have seen her a few times, once acoustic in a very small club, and you'd never know she had stage fright. This is a really good, straight forward interview. She is very honest.

Two all time greats together here in this interview. Marianne looks so elegant and beautiful, and that arrangement of Lucy Jordan was very special, just her and the guitarist. There is nowhere to hide when there are only two people performing, but they absolutely nailed it. Her diction was exceptional, every word clearly delivered. I recently purchased her last album “Negative Capability” released in 2018 and it is wonderful, and for a lady now in her seventies, a remarkable achievement. God bless you Marianne, and long may you keep providing us with your talent.

I just watched 'Thelma and Louise' again. The movie was out of context when it was made because two women were portrayed in a story usually told of men. The movie actually did most of the car shots on the road. No CGI or digital then. The song "The Ballad of Lucy Jordan" is used in the movie along with another great song "I Can't Untie Me From You" by Grayson Hugh. If you haven't seen "Thelma and Louise", I highly recommend you do. In this interview Marianne was so open and honest about her addiction and the personal price she paid. Great performance.

I do still think that homelessness is an enriching experience - cut off from all those things that spiritual teachers say you should turn your back on.
But all those who try and “help” people like Marianne make them think there is something wrong with being like that, and they must return to the world of work, property, respectability and money-making: Shame really. Drop outs should have had the courage of their convictions and stuck with it. Though the addiction side is not to be recommended. Not by me anyway. Maybe it’s ok if it keeps you out of circulation I don’t know.

Addictive personalities tend to make some bad choices about many things... it seems to give them an early thrill and then leads to the end for many. But Cigarettes have destroyed her voice... I watched my mom smoke for 65 years and it was just terrible when when got old and died. I PRAY for this lady and that she turns to GOD and has an easier end of life. I think she was extremely tough to get over the drugs... no one knows how hard that is until it happens to them... I JUST HEARD she has the corona Virus... May Our Lord keep her safe.
