"Yellow Brick Road" Lyrics:
I remember the days when we talked for hours
And we were young; we thought we had superpowers
We kissed the sky, expanded our minds, thought we could fly
We were dreamers, and we'd never die
We were young punks but we showed potential
Us against the world, we weren't sentimental
We weren't our problems, our age or our paychecks
And we weren't taking any body's sh!t
If I knew now what I knew then, I'd
Back up do it all again, I'd
Take a bow, take it real slow
Take a ride down the yellow brick road
Knew now what I knew then, I'd
Back up do it all again, I'd
Take a bow, take it real slow
Take a ride down the yellow brick road
Come on, come on wise up
Come on, come on wise up
Come on, come on wise
The winters were cold but we had your parents basement
This underground was for sinners and we embraced it
Magic pills, fairy tales, Syd Barrett's ghost
Oh, we'd all get on that spaceship
We measured our lives in coffee spoons
And those Friday nights quickly turned into Sunday afternoons
We weren't our money, our muscles or our regrets
We were having a mere life experience
If I knew now what I knew then, I'd
Back up do it all again, I'd
Take a bow, take it real slow
Take a ride down the yellow brick road
Knew now what I knew then, I'd
Back up do it all again, I'd
Take a bow, take it real slow
Take a ride down the yellow brick road
I remember the days when we talked for hours
And we were young; we thought we had superpowers
We want our problems, our age or our paychecks
And we weren't taking any body's sh!t
If I knew now what I knew then, I'd
Back up do it all again, I'd
Take a bow, take it real slow
Take a ride down the yellow brick road
Knew now what I knew then, I'd
Back up do it all again, I'd
Take a bow, take it real slow
Take a ride down the yellow brick road
Take a bow, take it real slow
Take a ride down the yellow brick road
Come on, come on wise up
Come on, come on wise up
Come on, come on wise Subscribe to Nettwerk's UA-cam channel:

This is such a great, feel good song. I love it even more knowing that it supported such an amazing cause. It's wonderful to see such a privileged person show an enormous amount of humility. Hats off to you indeed, Raine Maida.
Just like so many of your great songs Mr. Maida, listen to it a few times and then can never stop singing them!!!
I have a beautiful friend , she loved this song , she loved life , she loved everything .. I love you Brittney
This is why Raine Maida is my musical idol. not just because he is an amazing musician, but he does so much for charity, and is incredibly humble.
i feel like crying. He's too awesome I can't handle it.
Raine Maida & Our Lady Peace = absolutely outstanding. PLEASE come to Philadelphia PA!
indeed. ive went without food for a few days, to help those who had NOTHIGN. , took my clothing budget for a few months, and bought for those without.. ive basically cancelled christmas gifts and instead my present is going tobe helping at local shelters here. . those people there i admire more than anything
I HEARD THIS SO LONG AGO AND FORGOT ABOUT IT!
Completely agree, luckily I live in Montreal so it was no big deal to get there. I can't believe it was less that 30 bucks a ticket, such an amazing price too. The only concert I've been to that compares to that one was when Healthy In Paranoid Times came out. I got to go to a free acoustic concert w/ my girlfriend for about 500 people in the old Montreal Forum. It was so intimate and amazing. Raine is the coolest guy ever.
Raine Maida is definitely a God amongst mankind
i´ve listened this song once 3 or 4 years ago and i still enjoying it like the first time. So big Mr.Maida
Can't believe I forgot about this song.. 😏

I don't care if he may be slightly arrogant these days... Raine Maida has still been the pioneer of some of my favorite music of all time, and I love the solo work that he is doing. Honestly, this guy is one of my heroes, and I don't think he can do any wrong.
amazing song and great cause
Oh raine, you're so amazing! No matter what or where you sing, I'll follow.. This song is touching, reminds me of younger days when we didn't give a shit and thought we were the shit. What I'd give for those days again!

Oh c'mon people, you think Raine Maida wanted these kind of comments?! Respect the artist and comment appropriately. Avoid the haters, and keep it real! Great song, makes me appreciate life more.
Thank-you Raine.
My brother in law brought me back to the music i've been loving forever, always say OLP is one of my favourite bands, sometimes forget I bough Raine's solo album. Sadly it was fairly political at the time, wonder what Raine is doing now

Raine is the best song writer ever!!! everytime i listen to any of his songs or olp it gives me chills! WOOOOOOO
this is my Pick-Me-Up song :) everytime i get caught up too far in life, i always try to find this song and it puts me back where I should be.
idk, that's just the significance it has to me I suppose...
Same
I raise huskies.....every generation, a pup is named RAINE for Raine Maida. My second pup was named after Raine Maida (olp 2003) but no one understood it....(4th. gen and counting)
My resident huskies are now London, Kai and Tenka....
Cheers and never stop listening to Our Lady Peace.
good song brings up the good old days
Ah Canada in a simpler time. Nothing beat it.
Great song
wow I really think around the 2 minute mark its Daniel Victor playing the small drum kit with Raine on the corner. Thats awesome! Daniel and Rayne are 2 of canada's greatest
Great song, thank you spotify.
i think that this is the only song that i like from him as a solo because in olp i just love it!!!
OMG, I saw him when he was doing this video on Younge Street when I was shopping, I thought it was amazing what he was doing and I gave him the rest of the money I had in my pocket, which was about $55. I am honourned to have met him.
I love this song, so inspirational as well as the video! I wish life was as simple as when we were all kids! So why not give some other kids a chance to experience what we had!
damn you Elton john for stopping me from finding this song
LMAO SAME
i love this song!!!! i don't know why, but it's sooo awesome.
Never listened to his solo music. Very interesting.
Raine is amazing! I really love this song
awesome! I just noticed Daniel Victor from Never ending white lights was his drummer
I love this idea. I think him and his wife Chantal could have easily funded the cause themselves but I think the beautiful part of this is that that's simply not the point. Thank you Raine for showing the world that completely unselfish generousity and good hearts are still very much alive and most of all for reminding everyone that we can make a huge difference for the people that need it most.
He is amazing and inspiring, using all his talent and media to make people aware. Keep it up Raine!
1 person can bring out such good energy.
Have LOVED since FOREVER and will always ❤🎵😀🇨🇦🙏❤🎵🖖😀
the cd does. go buy it and support raine!
The yellow brick road is the road of life
this is awesome, especially because its in T.O!
luv this song...words are so true!
I don't know if it's worth it to try. But I'll keep going till the day I die. The same thing that's wrong is also what's right. As long as there is darkness, there will always be light.
Sorry for anyone who may have thought of that first, but when the lyrics hit me, I had to post them.
Im ready for a new solo album Raine Maida!
Inspirational.
i am in love with this song
truely an amazing artist
this song RULEZ...i def missed his artistic talent
Raine is amazing, olp is incredibale! wow
Finally an artist that does something MEANINGFUL with their money and isn't so self-absorbed that they realize there are others in the world who need way more help than they do
awesome song, he and the rst of olp are so underrated
whoa, dont lump everyone from the states in that basket.Ive never been to Canada but I appreciate the compassion for one another that Canadians seem to express. This video is one of the greatest things I've ever seen. I know some of you ppl think its a publicity stunt, well you just dont know anything about raine maida then. He's pretty much taken himself outta the limelight just to focus more on helping ppl. This gets u publicity, if he wouldve beat the hell outta some kids he wouldn have gotten p
light and love
GOD I LOVE YOU RAINE!..GOD BLESS YOUR HEART!
Ah this clip reminds me of my youth and that feeling of wanting to go to NY and the way people connected, even if mobilephones and internet was there, it was still ballanced and NOT EVERYWHERE, it just gave u alot of opportunities but didnt consume u as a whole thing like today. You were paying more attention to the guy or girl sitting next to you, watching across the street, noticing things, you were more aware of your surrounding. Meaning you could also get in touch quicker, you could share skill, talents, thoughts easier with total strangers (iknow, you can today with tiktok and errthang, but im talking out of my perspective, obviously..., and it's still very different). Today ppl tell me things like; "it was so awkward, he just came to me and told me all those things". Im like: "whats awkward about confronting each other, say yes or no, instead of just liviing in ur goddamn bubble. ah idk, im not good in bringing it to the point, sounds too cliche^^ probably if Maida wouldve been asked back than what his instagram was, and he wouldnt have one, ppl would lose their initial interest again or be like: "ok, who can this guy be then... he must be a lazy Hobo"
Oh god, thinking off alot of things now... mariocastle, benjikazui, jamesbond goldeneye64, koRn, Nirvana, MTV... the list would go on forever and deeper... gotta stop now or ill start sobbing over my keyboard;D
How must Raine have felt back than, because his youth mustve been like the end of the 80ies or such, so he got totally different memories and influences again, like every different generation does. But it's what brought him to exactly this moment in this video.
Y'know what buddy.. It doesn't matter if he raised $30,000 in one day. He actually is a really great singer/songwriter, and I'm glad there are people like that in the world. He may be doing this for the publicity (which I highly doubt) But at least he's helping and doing something about a serious world issue. Sincere or not.
I love you raine!
i love this song.. :)
he's soo good live...
love this song
Wow, the beard. I almost didn't recognize Raine! What a great song, and I like the spirit behind the video. I think it was cool way to raise money for this school.
