Paul I have to give a big thank you for putting this video out there. I struggled with Amplitube for a while trying to get a tone I was happy with both clean and high gain. Thankfully this video has given me the exact tone I have been looking for. From these amp modules and there settings I can just change cabs and speakers to get a variety I need without trying different amps. Many thanks again all the way from Australia!
Thanks for sharing this Paul. After watching your live stream on Saturday and Sunday I got inspired to set my stuff up. This little tutorial really put me in the right direction. Cheers.
Hi Paul, really enjoyed your presentation and playing! I'm an old school player (54 years on guitar...loads of amps & pedals) and just discovered you and Amplitube 4...I was able to get some acceptable tones in the first 20 minutes but not nearly as nice as yours! I would also like to know your signal chain (path) from your guitar to your preamp, audio interface to your DAW. Best regards, Orvil
The cool thing about the software is it allows you to sounds pretty close to any famous guitar player you want (at very reasonable cost). As for me, I'd have an amp setting for Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, John Petrucci, and David Gilmour. The only draw back is that the software doesn't do low end very well (complaints from other UA-cam videos).
Sounds like you need to silence the monitoring through your audio interface. It'll be on the audio interface control panel, depending which one you use.
Hey Paul. Thanks for this fantastic tutorial. I seem to be having tremendous noise issues from my Stomp unit. I have set up the British Tube Lead 2 with Gain of just 3 and already I get hiss. Then if I try to add the Ambassador or Overscream the noise is massive and I have to clip with the noise gate at around 70%. On your video I can hear no noise and your noise gate is set to minimum. May I ask if you're doing anything else to reduce the noise or do you think I have a faulty Stomp Unit? Thanks in advance for your reply. By the way your Contact Form on your website seems to not be working, thought you might want to know. Chris
Hi Chris, the stomp unit will not be causing the noise. I have experienced hiss with the Tube lead 2, and I have always found Marshall amps to be gritty and harsh in the top end generally. A couple of things I do here are pull the treble and the middle back, as I think it sounds better like this anyway. But this has helped. Also, compressors can increase, so check where the settings are (if you're using a compressor). Hope this helps.
Paul Rose thanks I’ll work on it some more. I loved your backing tracks you were soloing along time in your Xmas day video. Can they be purchased from somewhere? I need a good range of blues songs in various styles, keys and speed. Thanks
any help would be nice. I just got my focusrite and connected it and i can hear my guitar when i turn on direct monitor. read a forum and someone said they only hear clean sound when they use direct monitor but when he turns it off he can't hear anything through amplitube. having same issue; to add to that, i'm using amplitube 4 and my program is not picking up my guitar. i've downloaded the asio4all driver and i've tried every combination that amplitube allows me to try via the settings tab. under the "technology" drop-down i have the option of choosing, "windows audio (exclusive mode)", "DirectSound", and "ASIO". I've chosen all three and i've also chosen for the drop-downs for input/output and left/right channels, all the options i possibly can choose from. to add to that, next to the buffer size where it says "panel", i have the option of turning on or off specific WDM devices such as, "Nahimic mirroring device", "Realtek(R) Audio", and "Focusrite Usb Audio". Under "Realtek Audio" i can specifically choose types of input such as, "Mic input", "Stereo input", and "Line input" as well as other outputs. I've selected every input/output combination as well as just selecting one input and one output at a time to check and see if amplitube will pick up my guitar, and nothing. Under "Focusrite Usb Audio" i have two options which are "fniusbwc4400" and "fniusbwr4400" and neither of those do anything. last thing, on the windows sound setting where it says "input" i have the "focusrite usb audio" selected and under "test your microphone", when i strum my guitar, the bar is moving, which tells me that windows is picking up the guitar but amplitube isn't. even restarted my computer after the driver download and a few other times after that just for the hell of it. completely at a loss here!
Hi there, without being able to see it, I know that you must select all focusrite options for in and out. Nothing else is needed in audio device selection. Are you using it as stand alone on PC..? If so you might need to download QuickTime which enables standalone mode. Otherwise I'd get on to ik support, I'm sure they can sort it otherwise. Let me know how you get on.

Hey Paul, I just installed my Amplitube 4 plug in. The problem is, I'm only getting a DI signal and nothing from the actually amp models. I'm using a scarlett solo as my interface. Any idea how I can fix this??
It's a routing issue Marco. What DAW are you using...? Or if you're using standalone you will have to select the input from the Audio MIDI settings at the top left corner.
@@PaulRoseGuitar I'm using reaper but I haven't yet used the plug in through it yet. I'm trying it standalone and so far only getting the DI signal. I'll try the MIDI settings though. Thanks man anything helps!
@@PaulRoseGuitar Thanks for the reply, I fixed the issue by simply checking the input. Thanks. The only other problem is that the sound sounds over saturated. As if there's too much distortion or too much of a signal and my interface begins to clip when I barley go past a quarter on my scarlett knob. Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.
@@marcorodriguez7694 Standard issue, it's why I paid more and got the 2i4 with the pad switches to drop the signal down (am assuming yours does not have them). You will need a DI box to drop the guitar signal so it does not clip.
Absolutely fabulous demo....tips also make perfect sense. I will be following you from here on. Well done indeed.....thankyou!!!

Great! Question: can you make these 2 present in 1 amplitube window (plug in) and send the 2 mono signals to 2 mix busses or 1 Aux track?
Probably I'd duplicate the track and send them out that way.
