Not bad! A lot of people have held onto their NEX cameras. Any Sony E mount lens can be used on them, so anything the a6000 can use should work on that camera. Small but powerful.

Thnx for the explanations. Appreciate the info. If you see this I had a question with respect to sd card readers... any guidance would be helpful... I just got the a6600 camera and got an insignia 3.0 card reader... I have a Mac Pro... but for some reason though I’ve played back the vid i shot in my camera and it’s fine... when I place it in the card reader I have issues - one time computer told me it can’t read the card... so I place sd card back in my camera to transfer it to computer via camera - but then the camera told me the card needs to be reformatted and I lost the images. Another time the card reader did mount on my computer - most images and vids were ok and I transferred - but one video registered at 0kb and didn’t work (though it played back on camera firm beforehand). Again - I took card and put it back in the a6600 to read after it via camera and it said the card needs to be reformatted. Basically it seems simply placing card (formatted in a6600) into the usb card reader makes it so that when it goes back in camera it says it is unreadable and needs to be reformatted- even if it didn’t even mount on my Mac. This seems a terrible problem to have if I actually use it for a shoot. Is there anything I’m doing wrong or is there an SD card reader you recommend that won’t do this... or does it sound like a case of a damaged cars reader (though it’s brand new)? Thanks for response if you read this and good video.
Interesting situation and one you may be able to rule out by testing different things. I’d use a different SD card and see if you can replicate the same issue. That would tell you if it’s the card or not. I’ve never had my a6000 or a6100 tell me to reformat a card. I have had where it needs to recreate a local database a message that really means nothing to the user, and it loads for a few seconds and then everything is usable. I can’t recall a message like the one you’re seeing. Also, the insignia card reader may be the issue, so it’s worth a try to try another card reader as well. Wish I had better info but this seems like one of the pieces in this loop is causing an issue.
Thanks bud and yes actually I did just that - went to Best Buy where I bought the card reader and geek squad’s card reader didn’t do that. It was a defective reader. So I switched it out for a different insignia card reader (went with the thumb drive adapter one but either would have probly been fine) and worked perfectly. So I’m stoked and ready to film some stuff. Yes that error message was quite disconcerting and cost me a bunch of footage I shot. Luckily it was the card reader causing it. Have a good day and thanks for the help / reply.

Sorry if this question have maybe obvious answers for you, but I'm just beginning in this thing (sorry if my English is not perfect, I'm French), thank you in advance for your answer
Is honestly have to look that camera up. Is it a camcorder? Sandisk is a top SD card brand. If that camera supports EHS II. I’d snag one of those. Links in the description of a bunch of cards I recommend.
I want to ask for a Sony A 6000 can I install a tough memory card, on the card it says v30 v60 v90 among these can all v be used for a sony a 6000 camera, please help me
Yes, you can use it. At a certain point the higher end cards like the Tough cards won't benefit your IN camera performance, but when transferring files you will see great speeds. I use the TOUGH 128 GB 277MB/s read and 150 mb/s write. Affiliate Link - geni.us/SonyTough128GBMSeries
@@kyletaggart Can the 128GB 277MB / s read and 150MB / s write memory cards be used on a Sony A 6000 camera, because the brass on the back of the memory card are two rows up and down, please help
@@kyletaggart Thank you for answering my question, I used to watch your UA-cam, because I discussed more about Sony A6000, I just bought a Sony A6000 camera so I just wanted to learn photos and videos using that camera
I have a 512 g 200mb is this card good for the sony a6600… At first it gave me an error code of Locked card i reformatted it and running smooth… However, in amazon they sell fake san disk cards…
Check the seller on Amazon in your order details. If it’s actually from the manufacturers store on Amazon, I’d feel better about it personally. If you want to do 4k video your card will allow that. The camera maxes out speed wise, at a certain point the SD card stats are more important for transfer to your computer. If you feel the transfer speeds aren’t great for that purpose, I’d suggest a faster write speed card. If it’s good for you, then keep it. Also always make backups, cards fail, although it is rare.
Hi Kyle I was interested in the Extreme (not pro) 64gb with read speeds up to 150mb and write up to 100mb you linked but after much googling of reviews the write speed is only 40mb that’s a big difference. Maybe the extreme pro is better?
The write speed is limited in camera to 34mb. Out of camera it’s up to 100mb but depends on the slot/port. The extreme pro is the higher tier SanDisk card.
hikyletaggart ok thank you for the clarification I just bought the 6400 so maybe I’ll just get the extreme. I noticed target has the same SD card but it says plus other than that it looks the same but it’s $24.99 for the 64gb. I was thinking they might PM amazon but probably not since it says extreme plus. I can’t find a difference anywhere online. Very weird 🤷♀️ have you had a chance to review the 70-350 lens? I noticed it’s $100 cheaper. I just can’t decide if I want to buy it or not or wait for a good deal on the 200-600 but it’s quite a bit heavier. This would be mainly for birds. Thanks for all your help
The 200-600 is much older, not always an indicator of quality, but I’d be confident the 70-350 is better quality overall. However if overall range is your desire, then try and get a used 200-600. I did have the 70-350 for a week or two for testing, but I just didn’t have enough time to review as I had other products at the time. Also, the extreme plus, is below the pro. I would just recommend the pro.
@@leighann5308 I thought I responded to this yesterday but I'm not seeing my response. Anyways, I would recommend the Extreme Pro honestly. As for the 70-350mm, I had it for a litttle bit for testing, but unfortunately didn't have time for a review. Great great lens. The 200-600 is obviously an insane range but it is an older lens. I have never used that lens so can't comment on it's performance. I did really like the 70-350 though, however it is pricy, but then again most zooms are. You won't be disappointed with the lens quality of the 70-350, but I can't comment on it's performance vs the 200-600.

I just picked up the Sandisk Extreme Pro 64 GB 170 mb/s for my a6000, do I need to get an SD Card reader or can I just use a micro usb and get the same quality?
Can i use 128 GB card in my sony A6000 ? (And is there any problem) Because i couldn't fine any information about that . Everywhere i was seeing about 64GB card.
Hello my friend. I’m from Argentina, I’m visiting US in October. I just bought a bran new Sony A6000 and still under warranty. I’d like to know a good place for trading my A6000 and be able to upgrade to another Sony. Any place to recommend? I’ll be in NYC and Miami. I also would like to know if I have to bring box for trading in or just camera and charger? Thank you so much.
hikyletaggart The review was written in August, 2020. She said, “Using it on Sony alpha 6000, shooting max 50fps. Not supporting xavcs type movie format.” Would there be a problem with the card then? Thanks for your reply 😁.
Can you explain what read speed means or is in charge of? Also, can you explain if certain kinds of SD cards can alter the dimensions of your video footage?
From what I understand the read speed is how fast the card can be read. Both read and write are important for file transfer to your pc, phone, tablet, whichever. The write speed IN the a6000k cameras, is capped at a certain point (34mb/s) but having a card way over that is still great for file transfer. Your second question, you need a 64 GB (SDXC) card, or 128 GB, 256 GB, anything higher than 64 GB will unlock the XAVCS which is the highest quality video mode on the a6k cameras.
@@kyletaggart sorry just saw this didn’t thought you woudl answer haha! Anyway my question was kinda wrong! The question is my camera doesn’t record at the highest bit rate like the 100 i know now whats the reason behind! I need a faster memory card they said so would you suggest me one that all bit rates can work normally?
I’m having the exact same problem with my a6500, can’t record 4K video at 24p 100M, only 4K 24p 60M. Don’t know about photography, maybe I’m doing something wrong, or maybe I need a different sd card.
Thanks for putting the video together but I think some information may be wrong. The a6400 shoots in 4K 100M but to do this you need a UHS-II U3 or UHS-III U3 so none of the cards you talk about is the best SD for it. The Sony Tough listed in the description appears to be fast enough.
@@jasmineroblesandrade2451 that's because there is a physical switch on the SD card. It probably slid to the lock position by accident. It's an old feature on SD cards, nd it's annoying!
It’s a switch on the SD card itself - like a little notch. If you’re getting the locked message than switch it to the other position, then put it in the camera.
That’s an impossible question to answer. However firmware upgrades aren’t an abnormal thing to do. It “shouldn’t” have an issue. However if you got a used camera or don’t follow the instructions, I can’t speak on that. 👍🏻
Thanx! On the point! This is the best SD card explanation on the intertube!

Hello ! Do you know which SD Cards I can buy for a Sony DSC-HX400V? Is a Sandisk memory card is good for this model of Sony ?
I don’t know actually. I think it may be only UHS-I.
@@kyletaggart Thank you for answering my question, I used to watch your UA-cam, because I discussed more about Sony A6000, I just bought a Sony A6000 camera so I just wanted to learn photos and videos using that camera
Does the UHS-II matter in the A6600 model at all?
@@kyletaggart Ok Great…
The Read Speed is in MegaBits not Bytes
You won't be disappointed with the lens quality of the 70-350, but I can't comment on it's performance vs the 200-600.
please do best for a6400?
oh says all lineup XD
but yeee bloody discontinue the older lineup already its gonna confuse new comers too much
whats your opinion on Samsung cards? i love them so much but is their endurance one good tho?
i just use their evo ones
I was gonna mention Samsung, but I wanted to recommend full size SD cards first. Didn't see if they have any. I have no issues with Samsung cards.
I have the same SD card but 95 MB and 128 GB, with the same specifications for my Sony 6400. However, it doesn't let me record in 4K. What should I do?
Are you getting an error message when trying to switch to 4k?
I just picked up the Sandisk Extreme Pro 64 GB 170 mb/s for my a6000, do I need to get an SD Card reader or can I just use a micro usb and get the same quality?
Same quality but transfer speed may differ between the two.
hikyletaggart Perfect, thanks!
Can i use 128 GB card in my sony A6000 ? (And is there any problem) Because i couldn't fine any information about that . Everywhere i was seeing about 64GB card.
Yes! 128gb is fine!
Perfect, tkxs.
NYC has one of the biggest camera stores in the country called B&H. I’d highly recommend you go there. Bring everything g the camera came with. 👍🏻
hikyletaggart thank you
4:21 will this sandisk support XAVCS on the sony alpha 6000? I saw a review stating that it didn’t support xavcs.
You may have been watching a very old review. It may have been an update later on but it’s had XAVCS for a few years at this point👍🏻
hikyletaggart The review was written in August, 2020. She said, “Using it on Sony alpha 6000, shooting max 50fps. Not supporting xavcs type movie format.” Would there be a problem with the card then? Thanks for your reply 😁.
It is 100% there, I use it. Maybe they’re using the European video formats and don’t have it? Or they have the original firmware of the camera.
@@kyletaggart Thank you so much for this! very helpful
thanks sharing 🇵🇭
You missed something! In my a6400 i dont know the reason why I cannot record at 4k 60fps and 1080 120 fps
What’s the message on the camera when you try?
@@kyletaggart sorry just saw this didn’t thought you woudl answer haha! Anyway my question was kinda wrong! The question is my camera doesn’t record at the highest bit rate like the 100 i know now whats the reason behind! I need a faster memory card they said so would you suggest me one that all bit rates can work normally?
I’m having the exact same problem with my a6500, can’t record 4K video at 24p 100M, only 4K 24p 60M. Don’t know about photography, maybe I’m doing something wrong, or maybe I need a different sd card.
@@davidcisneros7621 yes after searching you need a faster sd card to be able to read the maximum resolution of the camera
I think writing speed needs to be over
100MB/s,
Best video every
Thanks for putting the video together but I think some information may be wrong. The a6400 shoots in 4K 100M but to do this you need a UHS-II U3 or UHS-III U3 so none of the cards you talk about is the best SD for it. The Sony Tough listed in the description appears to be fast enough.
OMG..! this i need
Glad it helped!!!
Hey I have a Sony A5100 can I use a SanDisk Extreme Plus 128 GB 150MB memory card ?
You can yes, you won’t see any crazy fast IN camera performance, but when transferring files that card will perform nicely.
Do you know how I can program it to the camera it’s brand new and I put it in and it says card locked?
@@jasmineroblesandrade2451 that's because there is a physical switch on the SD card. It probably slid to the lock position by accident. It's an old feature on SD cards, nd it's annoying!
It’s a switch on the SD card itself - like a little notch. If you’re getting the locked message than switch it to the other position, then put it in the camera.
11:55 they said that the speed of micro sd cards are bit slower compare to whole sd cards
I found a pny elite-x 128gb for 25$ USD which seams like a good deal. Not the fastest but to me a good deal.
Definitely a nice deal!
Good. 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thanks bro. Always appreciate your support!
I really appreciate that you always has something new to show us.
3:18 up to 30 ish?
what does it mean?
up to 30mb per second. It's not known definitely, but it's not more than 35mb per second.

Can I update my a6000 from v2.0 to v3.21 ?? Please reply.
Of course, look at the list of what the updates entail. Do so if you need the features.
@@kyletaggart thanks , i picked up a four year old a6000 , can my camera breakdown if something goes wrong while updating the firmware?
That’s an impossible question to answer. However firmware upgrades aren’t an abnormal thing to do. It “shouldn’t” have an issue. However if you got a used camera or don’t follow the instructions, I can’t speak on that. 👍🏻
@@kyletaggart okay, thanks for the great help man.
Can it hold a 16gb card?
That’s rather small now a days, but yes, an a6000 series camera can use a 16GB SD card.
I buy Lexar cards all the time ?
So this is way my a6000 was not looking as good as my a5100 thanks.

Is there a size limit or am I tripping
size limit? you trying to get a terabyte SD card? lol
Again late to the party. Another thing to consider is if you are shooting RAW or RAW & JPG your file size is going to be much larger than just JPG.
