Okay I watched other lens videos and I just ultimately love your video all around. The backdrop is easy to look at it makes me focus on you what you’re saying and the products you’re holding. I like that you physically hold the lenses and you’re not just standing outside talking about these things. I don’t have to put your words to an imaginary image, which is exceptionally hard when I’m new to photography and have no reference to make. So with that Thankyou! Keep creating!
Actually the Tamron 17-70 is an equivalent 25-105 lens, you have the same field of view range you would have with the Canon in a full-frame body, but with a f2.8 aperture, which is awesome!
Debating on the Sony 55-200 OSS vs a vintage Minolta APO 100-300 for my a6000. Primarily for nature and animal photography. The main question is do chose OSS or better but older glass?
Great video .... !!! .. question .. where can I purchase the lens adaptor? I looked for the information, but it is not there .. thanks in advance ... keep the good work
Cameras and lenses which everybody "had to have" five years or more ago have lost half to two-thirds (or more) of their value. I just picked up a sony 85-210mm for just over $100. And a Sony NEX 3 (with 18-55mm lens) for the same amount. So about 1/4 of what the package would have cost new "back in the day."
Loved this video thank you. I want to purchase the 18-35mm, 1.8...looking at used gear on mpb, they have the lens but for an EF-S mount. I assume I cannot use the mount you recommended? New to photography, appreciate your help! I don't want to purchase the wrong item :)
if you wanna try out a really nice vintage 50mm i highly suggest you to get yourself a nikon 50mm f2 ai. its also fully manual, its really sharp, and it has such an amazing bokeh, its really special on that one. prob. my fav. 50mm lens period and you can get it for like 50 bucks used market aswell
I'd recommend the 18-105mm as A you're getting more focal range B you're getting better auto focus as it's designed for mirrorless focusing which is handled completely differently to dslr and also auto focus in video C the 18-105mm is 1st party lens so you get profile corrections in video which is useful on this lens. Also you're stabilisation will be better especially when used with ibis or active stabilisation D you get PZ which for video it's good if you need it E it's designed for APSC/Super 35 so you'll get better sharpness most likely watch Tony northrup's video 'Should you use Full Frame Lenses on Crop Bodies? Yes and no...' F also the price of the 18-105mm is significantly less
@@keaganvandemerwe878 yeah i was also kinda curious as I owned the 18-105 but its not mentioned in this video. Use wise is a nice do it all lens although lately I’ve been using the sigma 30mm 1.4 more as the image sharpness is way better. Now that sigma released the 18-50 2.8 makes me want to get it just for that sigma sharpness goodness.
@@kensutanza The 18-50 is a great lens for the e-mount apsc community giving them an affordable standard zoom kit lens replacement. I still prefer the Tamron 17-70mm f2.8 because of the extra range on either end and the image stabilisation but I understand not everyone is going to be happy with its size and weight like I am not to mention the added cost
@@keaganvandemerwe878 does the 17-70 vc helps a lot with stabilization or was it just a little bit? Yeah with the added cost its just wasnt worth getting if you already have the 18-105, basically just 1mm increase on the wider end and +1 stop of light (with the 2.8). I wish the 18-105 would be a 2.8 and it would be perfect.
@@kensutanza absolutely I find It makes a huge difference on the a6400 especially I can shoot at 70mm with a shutter speed of 1/40 easily and still get some sharp shots at 1/25

@@keaganvandemerwe878 oh yea i forgot. Got too used to thinking of the original simga/tamron 17-50 and 17-70 dslr lenses. I completely agree tho the 17-70 is a much much better choice than the canon. native and more reliable. also more modern in most aspects
@@zaymax_7 no worries tamron sigma also made a 17-70 2.8-4 for ef that probably confused you. The Tamron has incredibly good auto focus is insanely sharp and gives you a 25.5-105 f4.2 equivalent when used of apsc/s35
Nah man, none of these works for me. A tamron 17-70mm f2.8 is the most versatile lens i've ever seen! It's 700$, so a bot pricy but still better than 24-105 / 18-50 anyday. I don't know why, most of the don't know about this lens!
