Škoda has always been a good car and spacious, in the last few years they have been getting better and better. Škoda is the only car that gives a lot for a small price.
Yea. I was never a fan of Skoda until I drove a second gen Superb. For its price, that car is awesome. Lots of space, lots of power and very comfortable. Changed my opinion pretty quick. For a normal working man, Superb estate or Octavia estate is all you really need.
I am a fan of the design. Skodas have certainly come a long way however I’m not the biggest fans of the rims on this particular model but overall good job Skoda
I’ve got a 2006 VRS. Great car, never broken down and has barely needed anything than basic servicing since new. But 14 years of development and all that’s changed is a slightly bigger turbo on the same engine and a tablet on the dashboard. In the same time I’ve gone from owning a Nokia LCD phone to a Smartphone with 4K video and Elon Musk has gone from sticking laptop batteries in a 2nd-hand Lotus to making supercar-beating family cars, a global charging infrastructure and made space travel routine. Not only that, but the price of a new VRS has almost doubled since 2006. If manufacturers want my money, they need to sell me something I don’t own already and at 2x what I paid for it.
Well of course it's going to be much more expensive compared to 2006 due to inflation and a genaral increase in car prices. Everything is quite pricey these days
My vw polo 1.9 sdi from 2003 was the cool looking, more agressive "black eddition". Black bumpers, black grill, black side door trim, black rearview mirrors and black steel wheels🔥
Don't know if it would work for the Octavia, but I changed away from Pirelli tyres on a Superb 2.0tsi and fitted it with Hancook K115s. Found them to be quieter, fantastic in the wet, but probably got 30miles less on a tankful. Steering felt a tad sharper but nothing you'd get excited about.
It is. Essentially anyway, it's a hatchback which is pretty much same in my mind but with less marketing bs. You can also get an estate / wagon, whatever you want to call those. This is most practical of all although only about 50 more ltrs than the hatch. The estate allows for pan roof too, if that's your thing. To me, an AWD diesel VRS wagon, remapped for a bit more go, with adaptive suspension and cruise, lane keep etc is pretty much the perfect budget-ish does everything car.
It’s actually a lot easier to turn off the traction control, pressing the set button next to the driving mode button, brings it up straight with other things

Hi Matt. Octavia vRS iV is not lowered, due to the baterry protection. The other RS are lowered. The plastic bit in the boot should slide right behind the rear seats from the top.
I've got a Skoda Kodiaq, and I both can cycle driving mode by pressing button, and turn off stabilty by pressing/long pressing dedicated button. Really weird why it is not so in this car...
