Here in Los Angeles we are only use to sunshine and great weather. When it's not perfect we panic.
@@edithdlp8045 Yeah - I live in Bulgaria now, we have over 300 days of sunshine a year. When it rains its like your atmospheric river stuff, everywhere floods in 30 minutes - but we are used to it an prepared for it and then an hour later its dry and sunny.
LA County was built upon a giant flood plain. They literally had to pave the rivers in concrete to keep them from overflowing

It’s a valley, I.e. all the water flows to its lowest point. That lowest point is the “valley”.
6-10 inches of rain. I don't wanna hear about any droughts in California.

this is very tame compared to driving through wyoming, colorado, new mexico along the i40, i80, i70 high winds and icy and snow is normal around this time. this rain here in so cal is not close to the dangerousness of driving in the midwest as far as weather affecting driving.

@@fremontpathfinder8463 the main interstate on the i 80 is a major route for interstate traveling connecting west and east coast the traffic on that road is as much or more than all the i5 of the west coast. and yes more accidents happen on that freeway by far than any spot in california. it's not even close.

Weeks ago, I walked past many storm drains and saw they were filled with debris and trash. I thought, the city really needs to clean out these gutters before we get some heavy rain...it's El Nino this winter season.

I grew up in Burbank and lived in So Cal for 40 years.
Its makes me laugh every time I see these types of stories. Most of these people would die in the weather that happens every winter here😂😂😂
We are so use to perfect weather here in Burbank that when it slightly changes we tend to panic.
Its not bad out here. Its worse in other areas. Last night i went to target in flip flops and bought some Light twisted teas.
People there will still make an emergency run to get their Starbucks coffee.

lol you can make the argument there shouldnt be a city in a valley like that because of the flood risk but its been there a long time and the city has invested billions to prepare for floods and the planning is about as good as it gets, anywhere. in most parts of the old world this city would have been wiped off the map a few times over hundreds of years and people probably wouldnt live in the millions there

They are sorry for that now and now it is too late! I have lived here in Woodland Hills since 1060. I've had my construction business here since 1976! I am well aware of what has gone on!
