- The St. Patrick's Day Event is back, and I'm here again with updated Guides and Strategies! Note that the very first town only requires 1M shamrocks to proceed - so you can either follow these recommendations, or quickly complete it and use this from Town 4!

thanks, really helpful, still no written guide on your website, planing of making one?
He has written, coming soon. Please see above
Mooingcat's guide from last year's event should still be valid (at least for the towns), it's on his Guides website. Also, give him a break!
Note that a lot of the information (e.g. about quests) is not available yet, and there were a bunch of changes to the Challenge events during Beta. This means that a lot of event-related stuff (grand prizes, milestone rewards etc.) is uncertain until we see the actual event on the live servers.
All these days in and I've noticed that at this pace, following your recommendations religiously of 1 city a day, I don't have enough pots of gold to continue this pace to the end of the event. Which will inevitably kick me out of the gold league unless I spend money on diamonds
I've got about 3 hours a day to play the game, this looks like a massive time commitment just to get one town. looks fun but very involved.
You don't have to do it as quick as he does, just go at your own pace, just make sure to follow his steps on what to level. You doing one town in 3 days following his steps will be more rewarding to your game play than just not participating in the event.
@@glennadams8707 have 3 towns done. Have a long weekend. Average 24 hrs per town and be sure to get the ship/festival as close to 300 before bed and wake up close to completion.
The guy I go to!
Was there a big push of tasks needed at the end in beta to move up leagues?
For 6 town strategy are we forgoing completing 4 or 5 tasks for each town if we only get level 1 managers for 4 of the factories ? Oh this is just for the 7th town - now I get it.
Love this minigame, not as much as the Halloween one, that's unbeatable, but the idea of a city to follow step by step made me fall in love with the minigame last year, completing around 20 towns.
Quick tip: Do you suggest to complete the first town "the fastest way" by finishing it after collecting 1 M (plus doing some easy quests, if they don't take too long), or is it better to try completing the 33 quests, since you don't have to wait that much to collect the 8.4 Q?
Just to be sure, the first town, "the quick one" counts as a town type 1, and than the 2nd (when you must collect 8.4 Q) counts as a type 2, even tho that's the "first real town"?
Last year (and I think it's the same this year), you could do the first cheap town by buying only a level 1 manager for Ship, Festival, Hats and Flowers (70 Pots total) and complete 11 tasks, then complete the town (1M Shamrocks) in about 2.5 hours. That is a VERY efficient use of Pots for progress. Buying a L1 Cake Manager is another 30 pots and enables completing 3 more tasks, not quite as efficient, and takes longer as well.
The main deciding factor is your own time availability. If you do a very short first town, it means that you also then need to be available for the SECOND town (about 1.5 hours if possible) to get that going, once the first town completes. Town 2 will then set your schedule re time of day when you are working on your minigame, for the next few days at least. So, if you are online early (and can spare 1-2 hours to get town 1 working) but then need to go out and do other stuff for the day, it's probably better to just treat the first town as a normal town, with normal manager levels.
Early on, you are also low on Pots of Gold. If you do a cheap first town (70 Pots), you will need to rush a few more event quests to get enough Pots for the town 2 managers, within a few hours. This should be easy to fit in though, if the timing of starting that second town is convenient for you. If you wanted to buy all the prizes (1400 Pots) after completing the first town, you might need to put a lot more effort into getting Pots, or spend diamonds - or rethink why you are doing the first town so quickly!
@@davidbarry6900 I do have time tomorrow, so I think I will only spend the pots for completing the quests that show up, and I will stop at 11 quests as you suggest, than start the second town. I want to play very efficiently this event, so if you have a better understanding of the game I'll trust you
@@IlPeNNa_RL If you look at the town tasks on the fandom Wiki, you'll see that you need to skip/ignore the town 1 tasks to a) "Upgrade your Festival manager to L3", b) hire a manager to automate your Cake factory, and c) you get stuck when the "upgrade your Flower Manager to L2" task appears. Just let your town run until you have the 1M shamrocks at that stage. Maybe click your Cake factory manually a few times to produce some shamrocks to ship (but don't automate it).
@@davidbarry6900 how is anyone low on gold. i have over 1K gold and I followed the strategy to the T even usingthe pasted strategy in FOE. how is this shortened it took me nearly a day because i couldn't stay in my room all day.
@@JohnSmith-li7xe You'll have more than enough Pots, at least early on in the event, if you do some quests. Be careful not to overspend on overly expensive managers though.
The very first town only needs 1 million Shamrocks. I was able to complete it in 1.5 hours using only level 1 managers up to the Flower Festival (not Cake factory). It's a little different to the usual towns in how you complete tasks; skip any tasks that require higher level managers and then eventually you just upgrade some buildings to get enough production capacity.
Quick warning.. At 3:27, he says to level Festival and Shipyard 'to a-hundred and fifty' each. This sounds so much like 250 that even the closed captions hear it this way. It's 150.
If i want to get as many rewards from great rewards should i complete most of the quests or go from town to town asap?
How does the shortened first town factor into town 1 strategy and playing? If you play it short, does your guide change ( I e, do different tasks, have different managers etc)? Should you ever treat it like a normal town? Does the short town count as one of the towns in your strategy guides?
That’s what I want to know too
that's also my question. How to handle the first town
So grateful not to feel like I’m alone with my petty questions.
Play the first town as a quick town ONLY IF you have enough time to start another full town soon after that (which takes another couple of hours), AND only if you can generate enough Pots of Gold to get managers in a second town.
If you look at the town tasks on the fandom Wiki, you'll see that you need to skip/ignore the town 1 tasks to a) "Upgrade your Festival manager to L3", b) hire a manager to automate your Cake factory, and c) you get stuck when the "upgrade your Flower Manager to L2" task appears. Just let your town run until you have the 1M shamrocks at that stage. Maybe click your Cake factory manually a few times to produce some shamrocks to ship (but don't automate it).
If you want to do your first town quickly, by buying ONLY the level 1 managers for festival, shipyard, Hats and Flower (NOT Cake or Drinks), you can complete 11 tasks within a few hours, for only 70 Pots. Very efficient. It will change your schedule of when your remaining towns start running though.
I;m curious why your recommended "highest" level of managers on your strategy guide dont match the levels you take your managers to on your play-through.
i said this last year, and I'll say it again. what's is the poing of saving 8Q shamrocks when they don't do anything when you go to town two. I'm only required to use $1M shamrock to move on to town two and there'sno option for uusing 8.16Q shamrocks.
I am new and have reached iron age, can someone tell me what to do?
Is it worth skipping first town for 1M?
Live event does not allow your strategy to be pasted via the edit button (FOE Helper) and also amount of shamrocks needed for town 1 is only 1M not 8.4G so not sure the final strategy is correct. Could it be better to forget those last long quests and just do another town to get the amount of tasks?
I have the same question haha
First town cost 1M shamrocks to complete, thereafter 8.4g so could have completed first town much earlier...
Anyone having issues with the helper not allowing edits to paste in strategy?
YES! Two of my three cities it worked fine. I'm having issues in A server.
Helllo! Thanks so much! Just a question, how to know the town you are in without FoE Helper? Going through mobile phone for example
Unfortunately in that case you probably need to look at which town tasks you are getting. There is a list of town tasks on the fandom wiki. Ideally print them out or make a screenshot etc. and save as a pdf.
Yup, the tasks are unique so that's the way to check.
@@davidbarry6900 oh cool I didn't know that!! cheers ^^
@@MooingCatFoE thank youuuu!!!!
You can also go to profile in town hall and mark down number of completions from previous year and just do the math. Plus 2 means town 2, plus 4 = town 1 the second time, etc.....
Shouldn't the shipyard be level 3?
Thanks for the video but I think ill miss this event again as its far too complicated and time consuming.
This was the first Event I encountered after I began playing last year. I was still trying to work out the actual game so, as an introduction to Events, this was a nightmare and I ended up pretty much ignoring it. A year later, I'm seriously considering doing the same.
EDIT...
So this time I tried to follow the linked guide and even though I wasn't able to play continuously I found it so much easier to follow.
I finished in silver league and completed 18 Towns (Shocked, as its normally about 4 or 5)
Thanks to Mooingcat for the guide, it really did help.
As much as I like your video's either I am making a mistake following them or there are slight differences that cause the tasks to open differently basically blocking progress at certain points. Maybe these need an update, (or I do).
Check 1) if you're in the correct town, and 2) if you have the correct manager levels.
When you lose track of which town you are in, how do you find out?
ua-cam.com/video/u6wkMyVFHjk/v-deo.html
AGGh what am i doing wrong??? I click on the Swift Sham and nothing happens???? Help!
It will simply lower the amount required, so when you get 6.3Q you can proceed. It won't be used until you end the town
For some reason, the strategy checklist in FoE helper does not work for me. When I click the pencil it does nothing. Anyone else experiencing the same issue?
Same here 😪
If your using Chrome, then I get the same. I've switched to Edge, don't like it as much as Chrome, but the FOE Helper extension works fine in Edge
@@TheSears4 I am using Chrome. When I progressed to Town 2, the edit button was working fine there even in Chrome. But thanks for the tip, if I get any more issues I will just switch to Firefox, which also seems to be supported. I am using Chrome only for FoE in order to use the FoE Helper :D
@@TheSears4the Firefox one works too
Two of my three cities it worked fine. I'm having issues in A server.
hey, why when you start the city you have already completed 7/25 tasks?? this guide doesn't work for me.
This was recorded in town 4.
If you have different tasks you're in a different town, you can find the other two guides linked in the description.
@CatFoE I'm not in another city, I started the event I'm in city 1 according to the guide it should match 1/4/7/10/13 The question is why, when you start the city, you have already completed 7/25 tasks when you haven't done anything yet? How did you do it??
@@rysmis3873 As I said I recorded this in town 4.
@@MooingCatFoE Are you saying that I will start the 4th city with 7 out of 25 tasks completed at the start?? I do everything just like you and in the same place, and for example you have 18 tasks done and I have 10-11. What is it about ??
ok, I understand now, it's a progress bar for the reward, so you can start the next city even on 15/25 :) I'm sorry and best regards.
How I can add your strategy check list in my foe helper?
Just copy the list from pastebin and copy it into the foe helper module by pressing the edit (pencil) button. You need to do it once per town, then it will remember.
@@MooingCatFoE Thank you.
@@MooingCatFoE Thank you very much.
@@MooingCatFoE Clicking on the pencil does nothing for me. No popup is shown to paste into
I have also trouble to add the check list, when I click on the little pencil nothing happens (MS Edge Browser)
Wasted one quick promotion. How bad is It for the progression?
Not a big deal at all, they're not crucial for success, just some nice extras.
@@MooingCatFoE thx for the tutorials im on my way to get the second tabern fully upgraded AND i got 5 Celtic glassworks kits
In the easy 6 Town Strat :
"get manager level 1 for Festival, Shipyard, Hats, and Flowers"
So you dont get any other manager at all? For example for the Ice Cream Building?
Not needed
We are forgoing completing 4 or 5 tasks - which leaves us short if we don't get managers for cakes, drinks, fireworks and only at level 1for the other factories? @@MooingCatFoE
It’s not very clear since it’s still saying to use almost 2k pots per town.
I think mooingcat needs to update spreadsheet as the tasks for 6 town are same as others as well.
So we just do 15 tasks for town one? That’s all I can do if following 6 town guide since it requires at least 1 manager at lvl 2.
No offense your way to fast to follow,!,,,,
Turn down the video speed and pause are your friend lol
I have trouble with the combination of accent and the up-and-down cadence of his speech.
@@kerensabirch5214 I have no problem at all either with his speed or accent, but then I'm english but you could put subtitles on, (press cc) and it offers various language options...ypu've already been advised how to adjust the speed.
you could also just consult with his written guide
@@jenniferreesdavies3353 Thank you for your advice, of which I have done both. I'm curious, however, as to why you feel that your being English should provide you with an advantage in this situation - unless you mean that being used to a wide variety of English accents within your own country, you find it easier to adjust to another accent.
Whilst I appreciate the work that goes into these videos, I do wish you'd speak normally. All the up and down speech is very hard to follow and I not only have to use closed captions, but also slow the playback speed so I can understand what you are saying.
I mute it as well and just read the closed captions.
Languages have different cadence patterns. This particular pattern is associated with the Baltic region and west Germanic languages, such as Dutch.
Normal!? Wtf is Normal!?
@@Rand_al_Thor_Put it this way: Does he speak this way all the time, even when he's having conversations with family, friends and work colleagues?
Just look what is he doing
