10:21 You actually mixed up the head sculpts. The left one is the real one. The big tell is that real one has black painted in the eye sockets surrounding the eyes. Mine has this and all video reviews of this figure is also consistent with this. Makes sense because the left one actually looks better overall. Look at 10:57 and the paint detail of the pupil. The right one looks horrible compared to this. Either way it’s good to see the comparison.

Great video ! There's been a flod of NECA bootlegs and people seling them as original ones lately. In clamshelled figures, NECA sometimes uses black coated wire too; but it looks thicker and sturdier than the one used in bootlegs.
My Ultimate Jungle Hunter arrived today. I just had to watch this video again to make sure since I bought him from Amazon. Thankfully, he looks real enough. Thank you again for this!
Yeah Amazon all the way too be helpful if he said where he got the fakes in the first place or at least some clue where the real ones come from !!
Thanks so much for this comparison! I guess if you just need something to look decent on a shelf, from a distance, these bootlegs would be fine. It isn't until you get up close that you start seeing any flaws. I'll always go for the originals though.
I'm 3 years late to this comment. I agree with you completely, I want the real deal. I have to say though that the prices neca push nowadays are just ridiculous to me, especially when you can get better figures at the same price point or at times even less; with better paint apps, accessories and creativity. I have been a obsessed neca avp collector for years now but I cannot collect them anymore. So nowadays bootlegs and knock offs are my bestfriends, as they don't hold the /rare/ or almost *limited* type of price tag. Recently I got a bootleg Ultimate Ahab Predator from aliexpress which I compared to my real deal Ultimate Ahab, they are so similar its insane. In fact even if you go in close you genuinely cannot see that its a knock off. What gave me a bit of a kick in the ass too, is the fact that the knock off even seemed to have stronger joints than the real deal, which sent shivers down my spine. LOL
You have two different productions. A 2017 and a 2018 as seen above the barcode. Mine is a 2020 version. Looks different. A completely different sculpt of the upper torso.
they are both genuine, just different versions, the friend probably doesn't know that

Thanks for the very important comparision video! There are already 4 versions of the Ultimate Jungle Hunter toy at the moment: 1 orginal and 3 reissues. The original toy does not have an additional articulation on the removable hands, when the joint allows you to move the hand in and out, also the plasma caster looks down on the blister. So you compare the bootleg version of the original toy with the first original reissued version. Also, I noticed in your vid, that the original toy has a number on the inner side of the biomask and it consists of two separate parts, while the bootleg version seems to be molded in one piece and it doesn’t have a number. I have the second and the 4th original reissued versions of this toy, and both have the same style of eyes printing as on your bootleg version. Mine 2d reissued version has shading on its gums, and the 4th reiss. ver does not.

Who is going through this much trouble to fake these figures? I gotta say, the fake is pretty damn good. I probably would have no idea unless a seasoned collector like you pointed this out. I didn't realize someone would go to these lengths to *fake a NECA toy*. Wow.

The fake one is much cooler than the original one except for the feet. The color is much better with the battle damage silver in the armor.

yep, and apart from some detail, the paint job in the armor parts of the bootleg one is closer to the colors of the OG suit from the movie
Man, I remember in the 90s where a knock off toy was easy to spot (they would look like bath toys) now you have to really have them side by side and know what to specifically look for.
Edit: the detail in the knock off masks actually looks better to me.
Now we live in an era of knock off toys are better than original. Just ask a fellow Transformers collector lol...
@@Anonymous72686 there is a Darth Vader Samurai action figure for over $400. I found a replication for just over 30 and it looked identical aside from the animated lightsaber airbrush work. The joints were not as solid but I would buy these for display purposes only.

It's actually just different versions of the figure,none of these are fake,the "fake" is the first version,the "real one" is just the v2
Yes and no, the fake one is a fake and the real one is real. I did this video like 4 or 5 years ago and didn't know the differences between the re-releases. I found out over time that they only make fake versions of the 1 issue action figure. I have updated in newer videos about it. Thanks for the comment

Fake versus real I love fake versus real videos
I have just purchased one off ebay in the UK but not received it yet. The hanging hook is black and formed from the cardboard that makes up the back of the box. Also , the box has round , clear seals top and bottom and not normal sellotape off a roll. This makes me think that it is a genuine Neca.

Great video! Really informative. Just want to say that my Jungle Hunter is a genuine Neca, everything is the same as in your video in regards to the real one, but the hands are different! It's not as dark as the one you showed, so there are definitely some variations even in the same Neca figures. Anyway, I'm really happy with my figure. Thanks for the info!
They're pretty close for sure , I've just bought one the same as yours ,paint job looks identical to the fake and real in different parts of the figure and the ties inside were those 2 ended wire things that look like put there by a machine , plus there was no sellotape on the box but instead was those circle type stickers holding the flaps shut , but the neca age square thing is the little dots around the square ,I've watched this vid over and over and I really can't tell ,the mask is a slightly more shade of bronze(ish) but dosn't have that dirty look of the fake it's quite clean ,I just don't know ,look legit but I've just got this thing in my mind that it isn't
I own quite a few Neca predators figure, is good overall,only downside is the joints are easily loosen.
What’s a good website to order these from? Is the big bad toy store or amazon any good?
I've just bought one and now I can't tell if it's authentic or a bootleg! It was tied down with black wires but the figure itself looks more similar to the real one here. The major one being the vertical shade along the abdomen area. Does the bootleg have the NECA stamp on the soles as well?
I have backed off of the neca fakes because they have been so close to the real. I want to do a update on some of these figures and fake vs real period just to go over the things to look for when buying.

The black vs silver twist ties aren't a sign of anything. I've gotten figures straight from NECA and from Target in-store that use black ones and some silver.
Yup that's what I talked about in one of the others cause I think I opened the It pennywise next and it hand black wires. But they weren't as cheap as these that were on the predator but they were black. Thanks for watching

I ve seen originals with black wire too, in the case they ralease again the figure and most common with figures that have more than 2 releases the wire varies

Mine has got to be a version 2 ultimate jungle hunter. Because I can't tell the difference. I only have one jungle hunter figure. So I couldn't compare them.

I haven't seen them make many I think I see one on Ebay of the ultimate. The cardboard back clamshell one has a lot of fakes tho. I will try and order the ultimate and do a Fake Vs Real
There must be something weird going on with these predator jungle hunter figures because I ordered one off Amazon and when I got it I thought it was a bootleg because of a defect in the lower back joint and the way it was packaged. Not even a week later I found one in Best Buy and I became convinced it was a bootleg because the one in Best Buy had a completely different paint scheme especially on the unmasked head. But now I don’t know what’s going on because the two that I have looked closer and paint scheme and mold than either of the two that you have.

No I didnt get a chance to because that was before I started doing the fake vs real. I have been trying to find a real one at a good price so I can do it. Just been hard to find one for that nice price lol.
They also use a clear plastic string now to differentiate fake from real

Why the heck did I get a combination of both even though I only bought one the plasma caster was real and the hands were fake the helmet was real but the skull was fake

I got mine a week ago and from a real Authentic shop and the mask is more Coppery than both of those . But just recently found out that they did the Re-Issue in 2019 , so same figure but different releases and slight diff paint work . So dont automatically assume yours is fake ( to everyone not the UA-camr ) because they release at different times and factories quite often
Theres a.lot of bootleg toys here in Manila. You can tell at once a bootleg from.a real one. The weight the molds. The paint jobs. Etc. There are several versions of re issues of this particular toy. I have one.myself and its a mix of his reviews. I think the only fake in here is this guy.
What about articulation? I'd like to see how they compare in that aspect.

My jungle hunter unmasked came with a orange and purple tinted stripe down the forehead. It’s confusing trying to figure out the reissues but the feet say Neca 2018 made in China.

I remember how they used to sell the fake early Kratoses using real promo pics but sending the knock offs. These companies should do like BanDai and sue the Chinese knock off so we don’t get scammed and buy knock offs only if we want to.

Oddly enough I bought both at Target🤷🏻♂️ Maybe someone did an exchange 🤔. Makes collecting like a minefield, as these are mostly 5-8 years old for many figures, so secondary market is pretty much all there is, but I’m learning to not buy from China 😡 and look at feedback % and how long they have been around ...still dicey af

My masks are pretty much clean except for two "impact" dark bronze paint apps.

They have become real hard to make now because they have gotten so good at them.
which one was fake? cause the one i got had elements of both. and the spare head had light green on the forehead.

The one I just got last week doesn’t look exactly like either one of those. The lettering on the package is the darker red, but the the extra head doesn’t look like the “fake”. Mine has characteristics of both in the video. I got mine from Best Buy. The battle damage on the helmet doesn’t look like either one of those. I have an unopened one from three years ago I got from Amazon and it has battle damage like the ones in the video. The newer one from Best Buy has more of a bronze tint and the tape is circular. The display hanger is black cardboard like the box. The older one from Amazon is clear plastic.
Neca uses round tape and sometimes the hook is plastic or cardboard every ultimate I’ve bought are from Walmart/target or from necas eBay store only fake one I got fake was a fake 09 Jason I bought from wish gave it to my 4 year old nephew for Christmas this year lol don’t buy from wish and always check the sellers Info and customer ratting and reviews I just got one today from Walmart
you won't be able to tell the Fake one just by looking at the box, unless you're comparing it side by side and you know which one is fake..
Very hard to tell on some of them especially the new ones. the older ones you are able to more tell from how bad they were made but now a days these new ones are spot on.

Are you sure the fake one is not just a re-packaged original version. There were 3 re-issues of this figure afterall.
That's cool but once you have ordered the thing it's to late what would be helpful is where the fake ones are from I had abit of paint on the clear window from the head but the right wire ?? If you got the fake first I'd be happy mmm depends what I paid for it ?
Actually on the predator figures the ties are not always bendable some times they feel cheap but are still real
Everything you have shown to be real does emulate my jungle pred, the only thing is the eyes do have black around the eyes. It was Walmart buy . What’s your thoughts ? Also my blaster fits fine. My hands are shaded different then both your hands u shown. 🤷♂️

Where do u come across the knock off version of predators ? Because I hope these others online toy stores don’t sell em lol. I bought a marvel select venom from e bay and the damn arm falls off.
I had no doubts, but still, I check my predator after this video. And this a real neca predator. After checking predator I took the box from under the bed from the set of corporal Dwayne Hicks vs xenomorph and seeing the light wire there calmed down completely, thank you very much.
Maybe u gotta in between version, some details of being real is there, but seems to have fake details as well , idk, what's up somebody help me please
So when I did this video years ago I did know much about the release dates. What does your date say on the bottom of the box? If it isnt from the first release than it isnt a fake as they didnt make fakes of the re-release.
