    This video gives me really nostalgic feelings! I was an exchange student at Aarhus University last autuum and I am so looking forward to go back to Aarhus for my PhD in 2022. I simply love the city, the university, the lectures, everything. Sadly I didn't learn danish so far. Sometimes I can understand written words or textes but the pronunciation... hell..

    • @legaleagle46
      @legaleagle46 8 років тому +56

      They drop half their syllables and swallow half their vowels. It's what makes spoken Danish so hard to understand, since it doesn't sound anything like the written language.

      jasmineflower trust me that was me at first, I feel in love with the Danish language at age 9 , self taught, now age 17 ,As a Mexican, I understand it , I have Danish friends that I met online, talk in Danish, their snaps are in Danish, I can read it easily. I can also speak and write it decently . but ofc still not perfect , won't consider myself fluent until I can pronounce the famous phrase "Rødgrød med fløde " right. Took 8 years but I got there . Advantages though, I can read a bit of Norwegian and Swedish because of Danish!😌 ♡

    • @allesindwillkommen
      @allesindwillkommen 7 років тому +3

      Yes, "t"-s are normally pronounced in words that end with the definite particle "-et" as the "soft d" [ð].

    In Croatia, your first year of studying is free, the rest you have to pay (depending on how many points you've got, you get them by completing/passing subjects and the amount of points also depends on how good your grades are/were).

    • @tetea7257
      @tetea7257 4 роки тому

      We also have to get a certain amount of point, so we don't get kicked out of school. We have to pass. So that's also a little similar.

      Hi! If you want, you may slow down the speed of the video. Hover your mouse in the center of the playing video and click on the Settings icon, which resembles a gear. In the menu, scroll to find Playback speed and click it. UA-cam gives you eight options for playback speed. :)
