    Keep meaning to say it... your channel is one of the best. I like that you don't mince your words. It comes across so well how sickened you are by these perps, plus the 'music' quietly in the background is JUST how it should be, and a bit unnerving at the same time so it's spot on. So many channels drown everything out with the music.

    This is why sadistic treatment of animals should be taken extremely seriously; in the 'States, this is a Class A felony, and the FBI often get involved which has saved lives. The sentence is puny, as is he.

      @@nevadatan7323 If anything, maybe it shows that sadists don't get quite the same high from cutting up dead animals or giving them a fatal shock. I suppose though it could be a stepping stone for some, it's hardly exciting to be slicing cuts or cleaning the blood from the floor, for most people it's just a job. It's been shown they're much more likely to carry acts of animal cruelty with pets or strays.

    The utterly, utterly bizarre thing about this case for me is that I and my family *live* in the street opposite Shuttleworth House; the high-rise block of flats where Metson lived, and seeing the police teams cordon off the area, and what was clearly a serious investigation, then to find out later on it was a murder, is just 🤯. Like literally, we live no more than a hundred yards away. To think a murder took place there is mind-blowing.
    I didn't know Metson (or actually, remember seeing either of them about) nor Holly Bramley; but I've a couple of friend who knew them both as acquaintances, and my eldest son (who has learning difficulties) at one point accessed local support that Nicholas Metson also was a user of-his mum pointed out that we had taken my lad to a day out which involved bowling in the evening, and Nicholas Metson was there. So I looked at the photos we took from the day, and yep, lo and behold, there he was.
    I did know *of* Joshua Hancock, Metson's accomplice-he was well known around the area, he'd always struck me as odd in a way I couldn't quite put my finger on.

    My son has level 2 Autism ( moderate) He is 11 years old. When he was 5, he wrote to the Prime Minister to ask him to make selling mice in pet shops illegal because people were buying them to feed pet snakes. My point? While autism is very much a spectrum, the diagnosis does not equate to cold, dead in the eyes, no feeling humans. My son has limited social etiquette, is extremely egotistical and has a real hard time saying sorry. BUT the same kid will still come home with a sick bird or penny lizard and bring it back to health, pick flowers for his Nana and tries every day to be a 'good friend.' He also knows right from wrong. It infuriates me that autism is used in any type of defence case. This idiot knew that hurting people was wrong, he CHOSE to continue with his behaviour.He CHOSE to not show remorse. While his face may not 'show' it, he is still capable of seeing that cutting up a person is not ok. Sorry for the rant but sick of autism being any type of 'excuse.' IT is here to stay folks so we need to embrace neurodiverse individuals and research more not use their differences as any reason to go lenient or give a laughable punishment.

      as an autistic adult, i thank you for this comment. Because we often get treated as a stereotype, and content like this, often gives the public the idea all autistic people are like this.. cold.. no empathy.. im often being reduced to the diagnosis, tho i myself do identify as autistic.. but its a part of me, not me entirely, these things contradict each other, as im quite extroverted, the introverted parts in me are my autism and they lay in direct 'battle' with who i am as a person

Prison is ultimately there to protect the public, not just as a punishment so I don’t think mental health issues should be used for more lenient sentences. I did have to laugh or at least smile to myself when you said that Josh Hancock looked like a twat, but that was the only moment of levity in this video. There are so many things wrong with their trial and sentencing, but the worst is of course The brevity of their sentences. Three years for Hancock? Are you kidding me? And 19 four Nicholas? I both knew Nicholas Metson and Joshua Hancock from school, and I’m shocked and saddened by what Nicholas did to that poor woman. His actions were horrible and sickening. When I heard his guilty plea for murder, I couldn't help but wish he had never been born or that I had never gotten to know him.
    Before the Child Online Safety Team confronted Joshua Hancock for inviting a 13-year-old girl to his house, I remembered that I was going to message a 12-year-old girl after she had completed a musical tour. I had messaged my dad first, and he replied, saying, ‘It’s going to be a hard no.’ He was right. Looking back at what Joshua did, it shows just how wrong he was. I hope he truly learned his lesson while on bail.

    Wow. I’m a US listener & these UK cases always leave me stunned. Not from what a person has done, but from the police procedures & sentencing. If the police would’ve gone by a person’s home for a welfare check & their spouse was behaving abnormally while in possession of a bloody saw on in his bleach scented house that man would’ve been detained or questioned until his story could be verified. I cannot believe they went to follow up with his story prior to arresting him with all that alarming circumstantial evidence alluding to a crime. 🤯
    Also, why don’t England’s laws allow judges to sentence a person to life in prison without the possibility of parole? I live in a death penalty state & I’m not pro death penalty, but I know if
    this case happened in my state that man would die in prison even if he wasn’t sentenced to execution. Has it always been like that or were these put in place post executions? You’ve opened up a whole new rabbit hole for me lol.

      English law does allow a full life term tariff. This man has been sentenced to a life sentence, with a 19 year parole period, which means he has to serve at least 19 years. There is no guarantee he will be let out then and could serve the rest of his life in prison. And in many cases I have seen of American welfare checks, they cannot just enter the house without getting a search warrant. In the UK they can enter without a warrant, when in close pursuit of someone the police believe has committed, or attempted to commit, a serious crime, or to sort out a disturbance, probably the same in the USA? Getting a search warrant protects the police, and later the case, when it comes up in court.

      @@janetpendlebury6808 first, thank you for kindly clearing that up! I assumed the 19 years would be his first eligibility for parole, but I was shocked that it’s only 19 years before his first parole hearing with how horrific the crime was. I definitely can’t say that there aren’t people who received similar sentences in the US because that would be an outright lie. Lol. There are plenty of people who make plea deals & do whatever it takes to try to have another chance of freedom.
      Yes, our search & seizure is the exact same as yours! They definitely cannot enter unless they’re in pursuit of a crime or there’s obvious signs of a crime. When I look back now, I think I completely misunderstood the situation. I took his description of the scene as if the cops were allowed in & saw those things first hands. It makes sense why they would go follow up his story & acquire an arrest warrant now. All they had was disgruntled husband with a story & a very clean house. I definitely got caught up in the story 😅 I appreciate you providing me clarity!

      God this is such an uninformed "murica da best" comment. First of all, this is just nonsense, our police and legal system is VASTLY better than yours in every single way you could think of. The police DO perform welfare checks. Secondly, the law DOES allow judges to send people to prison for life without the possibility of parole. It is called a whole life tariff. Why not read something before being a stereotypical US defaultism american?

    been watching this channel for a long time - its one of the most prolific TC channels on youtube, and my favourite because the narrator is amazing at showing how contemptuous these individuals are in his own way without coming across as crass or overly virtuous, and they often cover more obscure cases from the UK I hadn't heard of before.

    I really like hearing your opinions at the ends. You obviously do your research and know what you're talking about, but you don't make the mistake a lot of YT/Podcasters do of completely overreaching and acting like they're experts. You have a perfect mix of explaining facts, and giving your opinion, making you sound educated, but not like. you think you know it all. They're really interesting to hear. I never skip them like I do a lot of people's (just quietly!)

I am an animal lover who is NOT easily offended but everyone has their limits. I absolutely adore your videos. Your voice, your narration, please always continue to bring us this amazing content. Appreciate it. I am so greatful for the disclaimers you give at the beginning of your videos. To anyone thinking I'm too sensitive as I have been called in the past, rest assured I am not. This case was very interesting (and disturbing) I quite like it when you do these "lesser known" cases. I wouldn't normally have heard of many of the cases you cover as I don't really watch the news or read it online. I suppose though, high profile, well known cases get a lot of clicks and foot traffic. I'm not sure what I'm rabbiting about now... I'm making the mistake of trying to watch your video and keep a train of thought going.. its not going well...

    Think of the sentences in terms of work. Imagine your most boring day at work that feels like it drags for more than eight hours. But you don't go home later, you just stay there. You're trapped in that set of rooms. You can sometimes wander out a little bit but you have to go back. You're not allowed to take a day off ever. And you're locked in to work weekends, too. All weekends, all day. You also don't get paid anymore. You just have to be there. For the next 19 years, that's your life. I was 12 that long ago. That's not the few weeks on a tedious piece of work we've all done before then gone home to get high and play video games, that's the entirety of high school, university, post grad, then years working in multiple places. Friendships, major events, romance, all of the things in the teen and adult years. Instead of that, you're boring, unstimulating, unpaid, 24/7/365 work. Surrounded by physical and sexual violence.

    In this country the law here is a disgrace, life should mean life , 3 years 3 months is a spit in the face to the family an absolute shambolic sentencing for both . Metsen should of got maximum the uk law can give and the other should of got at least 15 years. My condolences and thoughts go to the family ❤😭 rip holly 🙏🏼

    • @Oceanbeauty825
      @Oceanbeauty825 2 місяці тому +1

      They don't leave as such, the time they are given on the register is determined by the sentence they get. Which is a load of bollocks. Especially in this case!

    • @nevadatan7323
      @nevadatan7323 2 місяці тому

      @@Oceanbeauty825 the bad thing is nobody in everyday life ever actually checks this kinda stuff. i mean, Clares Law etc does exist, but thats not uppermost in everyones minds when they meet people down the pub or on Tinder.
      it needs to be far more commonplace, second nature to check even....
      and people need to not only look at a register they need to equip themselves learning the read flag behaviours of abuse.
      There are countless abusers and offenders who lack a criminal history.
      manipulative love bombers will find a way into your life regardless, but it IS possible to educate yourself into recognizing the warning signs. they operate in a very formulaic way; you just need to know what to look for.

    I know I’ve recommended a case last week but there’s another which you might want to keep your eyes on as the trial is taking place this month. This is the case of Irish UA-camr Stephen McCallaugh, aka VoteSaxon07, who murdered his pregnant girlfriend Natalie McNally and used a fake livestream as an alibi. I was a massive fan of his content when I was younger, so hearing if what he did was horrifying, particularly considering the fact many of his videos in hindsight indicate he wasn’t quite right, and for some reason his channel is still up.
    Approach this case in your own time no pressure at all, I understand that making these videos can be exhausting so please take some time off. Thanks
