As a woman who wouldn't be caught dead wearing a dress, I'm appalled that any person would spend $500 for a DRESS... I think instead of all the drum gear I could purchase. Well, maybe one realllly nice snare drum! 😂😅
@@adamfrost3722 Thanks man! I use Sonor and paistes too. Love Both Bruford and DC. I know a fan of great music when I see what equipment they use. Outstanding man. Congratulations on your new baby!. I was a DW collectors guy for 20 + years. I finally went and got an SQ1 (SQ2 would of been a year wait). Best move i ever made. Ive never heard drums that sound this good. Good on you, man. i hope that kit brings you many warm n fuzzies
Congratulations Adam. I agree with your choice to integrate different shell types to achieve the sound you're looking for well done. They sound great, play them in good health.
Now that truly is a dream kit,not just the drums, that cymbal setup is perfect as well.congrats Adam, beautiful kit,and really like the shell layup you chose for your kit.sound is phenomenal.
Congratulations on your beautiful new kit. It sounds even better than it looks! And I didn't think that was possible! Another fantastic video from DCoP.
Super excited for Adam, excellent kit. I would love to hear or play one in person... that would probably sway me to get one. I have never even seen a kit of this quality in my local drum shops aka guitar center.
Congrats Adam. I’ve got my dream SQ2 I bought last year. I went all beech but, like you, I went heavy on the rack toms, snare and medium on floor and bass drum. Absolutely insane kit. Enjoy hell out of them.
Gorgeous kit! I remember my SQ2 unboxing day. I also remember the day I drove (one of) my dream car(s) home. Similar feel. Sonor day was more memorable. From a “car guy,,” that’s saying something.
Congratulations! Super happy for you. It’s a great feeling when you get a new kit. Also, I totally agree with getting the sllotted tension rods. That’s just a SONOR thing you have to do.
I don’t normally watch unboxing videos… but this…❤❤❤❤ is the NICEST drum set my eyes have ever seen. Sonor is now my dream kit! Thanks for sharing and enjoy!
I bought the medium thin beech 13x5.5 scandinavian birch semi gloss from you guys. I collect snares and you name it, I've got it. The SQ2 is the best built best sounding snare I've ever heard!
"I can't afford not to buy this" Had a similar expirience last week at my local music store, when I bought my new MEINL Byzance cymbals, after they told me the HUUUUGE discount they where giving me. 😂😂😂 BTW, as you bought a german made drumkit ... you definetly need to get some Meinl's foundry reserve to accompany his one
Great video!! Indeed, new-to-us drums are inspiring and can make you want to practice and jam away - enjoy those new tubs!! The ONLY think I wish could have been different about buying my barely-used set from you folks was that there was no unboxing, which seems like a cool ritual :) But, I can't complain a bit about my set - a great deal - and it was fun to watch you like a kid on Christmas morning!
Beautiful drums. Pleasant to the eyes and ears. I'm jealous. I'll be hitting y'all up soon. I'm just about to able to afford my Gretsch kit. Getting excited!
I don't have a lot of experience with Sonor but they're super impressive drums, this kit here is top notch. That kick drum especially, so much punch from every hit. Awesome video, loved the sound effects here (especially the South Park "I'll use my credit card"). Brandon and the Drumeo team should come down to DCNH and have you each play songs you've never heard before!!
Interesting design. Kind of a "backwards" kit to what all the manufacturers normally do. You got thick shells on your small toms, thin shells for your large drums. Most manufacturers go with the thin shells for toms and thicker shells for floors and bass drums. You went with Maple for the small drums and birch for the large drums. If you were to look at Pearl's Reference concept you would go with birch for the small drums and maple for the big drums. I mean, they sound good, so who's to complain. It's just a very unique build.
Congratulations on a beautiful new set! You outlined some of the details about the new kit (different woods, brass snare wires, specific hoops, etc.). I'm interested in a run down of the choices you made and why you made them. I would find it educational to hear why someone (who clearly knows the details of all these options) would make the specific decisions you made when ordering a custom kit. There are so many options, and one of the things that I would be concerned with when ordering a custom drum set is that I would make some decisions based on looks or price without knowing that they have significant sound or even functional ramifications as well.
I prefer thicker shells for the rack toms for a little extra volume, and I went with Maple because they tend to be a little "fuzzier" sounding (or blend well in a mix with other instruments.) I prefer Birch for projecting low end, and then getting out of the way quickly. The Medium Birch shells tend to resonate just the right amount. Heavy Beech shells have always been my favorite Sonor snare shells. Tons of volume with the right amount of highs, mids and lows. Brass snare wires were just an experiment, since I've never tried them and wires are easily replaced. At the end of the day, we took 11 months producing an in-depth comparison of all Sonor options so that people can make their own informed decisions when ordering a custom kit. It's worth a watch, and we're always happy to help narrow it down! ua-cam.com/video/dZrcJsidPCo/v-deo.html

Congrats! They sound as great as they are beautiful! The sizes you picked are perfect and would be my dream kit as well! Really enjoyed watching you unbox this kit. Best of luck with them and hope you get a good amount of time to play them.
Absolutely gorgeous! And sounds beautiful. Last year I purchased a Sonor AQ2 kit from DCP ,which is a mid range Sonor line kit , and was very impressed with it’s quality build and sound. No regrets at all. And I’m a die hard Gretsch loyalist but love my AQ2 as well. Congrats on your fine new musical instrument. 🥁😎
Congrats, a beautiful kit, Adam! I was interested in the tom reso choice of coated heads, I've been thinking about doing that next time I need to change out the reso's. Anyway, the kit looks and sounds great, now just enjoy it.
@@adamfrost3722 Yes, I've been using Evans ec's as tom resos to control and reduce sustain, with Evans 2-ply coated batter heads. I also tune the resos abit higher than the batter to reduce sustain as well. And only recently thought I might try coated batter heads as tom resos when I next change them out.
