      Never put ANYTHING into acid. Whenever you're working with acid, you should pour the acid into the non-acidic thing, to avoid splashing.

    I wonder what the smoke would look like if you added food coloring to the water before you dropped the dry ice?

    • @VenusStateofMind
      @VenusStateofMind 5 років тому +20

      The vapor the dry ice makes is just co2, being why they cant breath it for too long.. so the water being colored wouldnt effect it because its the ice rapidly heating, not the water, and even still steam will stay translucent and white/clear reguardless of the color of the water, so since we cant necessarily color the dry ice, im not so sure we can make colored co2 from it but who knows maybe theyll give it a go 😂 .. i think they also have an older video similar to what youre asking tho :p

    You can actually boil the dry ice (as in turn it into liquid CO2 then let the liquid boil) if you have a pressure vessel that can hold at least 5.1atm, which is the pressure at carbon dioxide's triple point. It would be really cool if you did some other high pressure tests as well!

    Nate i found a crazy way to make clear ice. Today when i went to the car i saw the water bottle that i left in there the whole night. And it was very cold -9c outside. and the the water was very clear ice. I think because it took the water very long time to freeze what made the bubbles to rise up. Please try 😎

      Yep that's correct. Slower freezing makes for larger crystals and less bubbles.

    What about using a ridiculous amount of dry ice in a jacuzzi or hot pool, at night, on the halloween night? That should put the neighbourghood in the mood. And recording everything with drones, of course.

    Try putting dry ice in water with food coloring to see if you can make colored dry ice smoke and lastly put a huge amount of dry ice in a big swimming pool and see how much puff you can produce.

    Try to expose random items to extreme temperatures and see how they differ. e.g. put a light bulb in the forge then a new one in liquid nitrogen and see how they break or how it breaks if you shake the vacuum chamber with it inside.
