I agree. We need more retro. And I l9ve your box set suggestions. 9ver the tears I lost or never had a large portion of tge original figures, do I like the reissues. But new figures are always welcome. And YES! ANDOR. I canceled my Acolyte order due to employment issues, but my Prequel sets are in the mail now.
Expect a force awakens set next year, and a rogue one set too. I’d also see a star wars rebels set being made They could split the last jedi and rise of skywalker into one set if disney force them to make one for that too. Solo a star wars story won’t be too hard since tvc doesnt have lots of figures for it
Pass on Acolytes, Pass on Ashoka, Pass on Kenobi except Darth Vader.. Nothing for Andor, but not really wanted, love to get Retro style Rogue One figures!! 💯 Episode 2: set of 8: Mace Windu, Padme, Jango Fett, Clone Trooper V1, Count Dooku, Zam Wessel, Camino Cloner, Yoda. Episode 3: set of 8: Clone Trooper V2, General Grevious, Anakin Skywalker, Obi Wan Kenobi, Commander Cody, Senator Bail Organa, Plo Kloon, Kit Fisto. Prequel trilogy filler pack of 12: Child Anakin Skywalker, Captain Tarpals, Aurra Sing, Watto, Dexter Jetster, Anakin Ep2, Kenobi Ep2, Blue Senate Guard, Ki Adi Mundi, Shaak Ti, Ayla Secura, Darth Sidious. Clone Trooper Wave of 8: Cpt Rex, 501st Trooper, Captain Baccara, Commander Gree, Commander Bly, AT-RT Driver, Clone Pilot, Red Shock Trooper. Then finish off the prequels with 2 or 3 more filler sets of 8: Wookie Warrior, Nute Gunray, Sebulba, Destroyer Droid, Luminari Undulli, Saesee Tiin, Agen Kolar, Quinlan Vos, Captain Banaka, Barriss Offee, Super Battle Droid, Gungan Warrior, Shimi Skywalker, Cloaked Darth Maul, Ric Ollie, & Lott Dodd. (Pick 8 more) And one bonus set of Podracers set of 6.... Sadly doubt they will revist or make a full toyline of prequels or clone wars.. But if they really wanted to expand the retro collection the prequel trilogy is rich with new character possibilities.. but I think that ship has sailed.. to bad they didn't attempt retro style collection along with the regular releases as those films were released.
As soon as I saw that combined retro box I thought they must be ending the retro line I love the retro line and I they would focus on the remaking the originals and sprinkle in some of the figures we should have gotten like han stormtrooper
Oof.. seeing that first New Hope set opened up the old wound from the Fans Stirike Back scam, that wasn't a pleasant sensation. I think you kind of answered your own questions here, Mr Maclunkey. Disney want to push new product as it's a growth of the brand. Falling back on the original trilogy is like admitting defeat and I'm sure that makes big investors and stakeholders nervous.
I get what you're saying but investors care about profit growth - they don't give a shit about growth of the story or the mythology other than as a future revenue driver. If their market research tells them that original trilogy product will sell better than anything based on their D+ series...then more OT toys it is. But I have no clue what their research tells them so who knows!
@@funkymaclunkey Ahh indeed. I just think the policy of keeping brands like Star Wars, Transformers, He-Man etc evergreen; which they were never designed to be, makes them push hard at making new generations of fans and staying relevant. That whole 'this is my Star Trek, not my Dad's Star Trek' is the thing I see as the real driving force. The lack of big new IPs coming in and being cross generational (what was the last one? Harry Potter?) because of investment risk associated pushes them to get further away from the original movies that got them there to begin with. I'm with you 100% though, if it ain't making money, it's done, 'cultural signficance' is only so if it's profitable. Sorry for the long replies.. I guess it's all pretty obvious anyway.
I like how you bought the acolyte crap…even though you had no interest or real connection to it…don’t be part of the problem…they’ll never stop the garbage when people buy the shit…
I didn't say that I didn't like the show. I didn't say I had no interest in it. I thought the show was OK - not amazing, not the worst. I've made it clear I'd prefer original trilogy characters that we've never had before over stuff from D+ shows, but as I said in the video - I love the retro figures, I wanted them, so I bought them. Honestly the only reason I cancelled my initial order of this set is because I go so sick of the toxic garbage coming from fans that I just needed to back out for a sec. But then I realized that overall I'd enjoy having the set, so I reordered it. As for me being 'a part of the problem,' I pretty sure that most of my followers and customers will attest that I most decidedly am NOT. But thank you for your comment anyway!
Love the retro! I'm glad there are retro creators where I can get my dreams figures such as Shadows of the Empire, Kenobi and
Rogue!

I don't even like the prequels and think not putting out two sets is odd.
