Totally agree with so many of your comments! Single release the battle droids, or at least a multi-pack of them to army build. I've always hated the giant retro stickers...why not just a smaller version in one of the corners. Maybe instead of all the artificial weathering, how about a red/racetrack style border with the retro logo in a corner of it. Why not release all the retro figs at least on Hasbro Pulse as individual carded figures. So disappointed in the limited/exclusive distribution....
Yeah I think you're right. And the cardstock feels similar to the ROTJ boxed set, which is much better than the Mandalorian or Obi-Wan series' which were like paper thin!
I wish I had kept all of my original Star Wars figures from back in the day she made me throw them all away when I go older. consider how much they would be worth today?
As for soft goods, I got extra robes from the Kenobi Ben figure (got extras) so that will go on the Ep 1 obi. Plus I'm gonna make an Ep 2 Obi with the Kenobi head. I'll either carve off the pony tail or just remove the paint. For Maul. I'll probably use the Jedi Luke robe pattern from The Trash Compactor, in black material to make Maul a robe.
Yeah, I plan to do the same with the Kenobi figure. With those figures so cheap at places like Ollie's, it's almost worth buying a bunch of extras just for the robes! And there was an original Episode 1 "Sith accessory" kit from the 90s (it's super-cheap on Ebay) that has a great robe for Maul.
@@funkymaclunkey o forgot about that Sith set. Good idea there. And more Obi Wans means more Tatooine folks. Just repaint the clothing. Switch blasters. Lol.

I would say that, if it's Retro, rather than cloth goods, it should be vinyl. Capes like Vader, skirts like Snowtrooper. Like, for example, I love the Greedo vest TheNext17 does, but I think it should be vinyl instead of toy weave.
I hear what you're saying and I'm a sucker for vinyl capes myself, but...if we're thinking of the Retro Collection as a "continuation" of the original Kenner line, then the capes and robes should be cloth. Mainly because Kenner's use of vinyl stopped after the ESB figures, and they used cloth goods for the ROTJ and POTF figures. That's how I'm justifying it anyway! :)
@@funkymaclunkey Okay, I get your logic, but I just can't get that granular with it, because if you take it to it's logical extreme, it kind of invalidates thew whole Retro line. The evolution after soft foods was better sculpts with partial poses (Power of the Jedi) and then jointed limbs (TVC). And the whole "if" idea behind it should be that prequel figures should be set BEFORE episode 4. And, don't even get me started with the post RotJ stuff being in "retro" style at all. BTW, I LOVE your stuff, and only just realized you had a channel, well, with this video! I've been getting your Holiday Special figures. I'm actually planning to do a video about them once I finish painting them.
Solid point about the Ep 1 figures technically coming from "before" the Ep 4 figures. I guess by that logic they should be large Mego-sized figures though, right? ;) Thanks for the kind words - glad you dig the figures!
@@funkymaclunkey Do NOT tempt me with Mego-esque Star Wars figures. The S-Type bodies and crafters making custom heads and equipment make that a real possibility, but that would bankrupt me. LOL
I have messaged Hasbro through the Pulse website begging for Army builder sets. Stormtroopers, biker scouts zgammorian Guards, Death Squad Commanders, Battle droids. These 6 packs would fly off the digital shelves. Literally.
I stood in line at midnight for these back in the day. Then I saw the film, and I sold my entire collection from the 70’s on. Why on earth would I want to buy this.. it’s not for me shut up.. oh ok 👍

Weathering looks less on the front, but the back of the card looks like it has the same amount, by comparison it looks less anyway.

Which ones in particular? I have quite a few!
@@funkymaclunkey any that have references to figure collections

Good vid/calls. Couldn’t agree more. Smaller Retro sticker and for the love of god, do something with the card back 🤦♂️
