Black cockatoos

These wonderful birds remove bark in the hopes of finding a tasty borer grub to provide them with some much needed protein.
In the past the cockatoos would have helped control borers in these trees, which are prone to that particular pest.

They sure are hard at work😅It is always a strange feeling walking under a tree which is full of these guys. The way they look down on you! And the ground is always covered with chopped branches. It is a wonder they are not nicknamed "Lumberjacks"😅👍
