@@katzcreates I'm hoping you'll make some video using it. LOL I've been thinking that when I get around to putting my own rep-rap together, I want all the printed parts to be made from GitD filaments. Although... I also love the tinted clear filaments. I wonder if anyone makes glowy glassy filaments? Hmmm... Oh. Ohhhhh.... Could I use clear filaments with LEDs to get that fiber-optic effect? Hmmm. That could be unnecessarily sexy. I have to think about this. Thinking out loud thru my keyboard is always such fun.
Pushing ropes is NEVER EASY. Great work and a GREAT journey! Gorgeous time-lapse too! ;) I am glad we are not the only ones that have had TERRIBLE issues doing flex on a timelapse lol! Gorgeous prints with the Varioshore! We will have to get some!
One of the first cosplays I ever did was a goku into Saiyan Armor cosplay and back then I used EVA foam to build my first armor. However, the high density EVA foam I used, wasn't very giving and was rather uncomfortable to wear, albeit it looked good, but just too stiff. In the anime the armor is supposed to flexible to contour to every body shape, yet sturdy enough for combat. Now I'm not going to combat, but the flexible part stayed with me and I've been thinking of perhaps printing the armor in TPU that is rigid enough on its own, but flexible enough to be worn comfortably to cons, especially when sitting, moving, eating etc. Or going to the bathroom.
Brilliant video! I've been wanting to get into flexible filament recently, so it's cool to see a video about it pop up from you. I hadn't heard of varioshore and it seems lovely! The bulbas are so cuuute
Looks great... By the way... Have you tried to print it with a larger nozzle if it can lower the print times?! Or the TPU just force you to go down to 0.2 by default?!
Hooray! I finally got around to watching! I agree, I LOVE varioShore (when fully foamed). I see uses for other TPUs for tough, flexible prints but if one needs something *soft*, varioShore ROCKS. Nice work. 🙂
Awesome stuff here. I just started printing and jumped right into flexibles for cosplay. I absolutely love PCTPE. It’s flexible but holds its shape and is incredibly tough. What I did was print using mostly shells for thickness and have it run slow. I set the wall width to .6 which helps speed things along. I subscribed because I enjoyed your review and you’re pretty 😉
Very cool and fitting that Rita Farr from Doom Patrol is educating people about Flexible Filaments
Thank you for the video! I hadn't heard of flexible 3D printing materials before this video. I'll certainly have to try them eventually!
They are both SUPER fun and SUPER challenging! I'm always happy to give tips and advice though! :D
For bigger projects combined 3d printing and using a 3d printer pen
try elastane of spandex filament prints as easy as petg but flex and strong like a nylon
I'm getting a varioshore reel.
NOW.
good recommendation on a vario shore but a suggestion. cut the bracelet and add velcro on it. you can wrap it around your wrist
Great video and, info. Would be interested to see if either filaments are paintable
Yay bonus pokeprop
I recently learned there exists... Glow-In-The-Dark Filament!
Have you done anything with these?
I have played with it a bit! 😀 It's lots of fun!

Some of those time lapse videos look like Spiderman was creating the benchy.

I've made....a mess. Varioshore has been challenging and settings posts leave a lot to be desired.

Can you suggest a printer for a beginner that can print with tpu or other flexible materials?
So useful! Loads of great info and beautifully shot and edited 😍
Kill Bill intro was fire 🔥
Awesome video ! Thanks for making this one !!!
How did you color it?
Have you had tried painting/dying either TPU OOI? There's very little info online about it this and most of it heavily conflicting.
😀
Looks great...

My first TPU prints have been with Overture High Speed TPU and it's turned out better than expected. Still have some settings to dial in.

Have you tried drying the filament while printing? Or making a dry box to store it while printing? It would definitely improve the results :)
I love you so much! #instantsub!
Oh! Thank you!! 😍
Epic, I think I'll give this a try, too. Also, love hearing a hint of your accent. ;-P
My reaction is... WOW! Great video, super informative!
