    The big green thing is coil of wire. It's the output inductor that all class D amps have. This one looks to have a steel core, is on it's side and is wrapped in heatshrink. They can get pretty hot so you don't usually see them covered.
    There's also a smaller inductor near the power and ground terminals. That's to filter noise from going back into your vehicles electrical system. The better quality amps always have this. (That Prime 500 has one)
    That's a nice looking unit. It's got the glue on top of the transformer to prevent the wires from vibrating and shorting out. Plus glue to hold it in place.
    I like it.

    Back then to me Pioneer was top of the line. It was what everyone I knew wanted. I almost always ran them for a head unit. I had and loved the 10 inch truck subs. Sounded great and hit well to boot. Had a friend who had an astro van with eight mill 12s and it was rediculs for the time. My first real big demo to get. No one around had anything close. Those subs were great. Just like MTX I wish they were still in the game like that but unfortunately I think the game has out grown them. Haha yeah it seems all the bass knobs are that way..

    • @JasonWW2000
      @JasonWW2000 2 місяці тому +1

      If you think it's the potentiometer inside the knob, take the housing off and spray the same cleaner inside the pot and turn the knob back and forth a bunch of times. The traces in the pot might get oxidized over time and when turned to that position it loses contact (you get the same result as unplugging the cable)

The drain hose for water that runs down the windshield runs inside the car, behind the kick panel on the 2000 Accords and over time they become hard and will come loose.... I have a 2023 F-150 4 door that I ordered with the 5.0 and I have it stock, except tinted back half, and I had to do the exhaust. I went with Flow Master Super 10, and straight out back under the trailer hitch with 4 inch Chrome Tips 45 degree cut angle! No I don't race it, but I have taken down many that wanna do something stupid around me, and I know what they are going to do, and I put my foot in it, and they think twice, about squeezing in front of me 😁 So I've had it for a year and I'm 56 and I come from the days of ZAPCO and Becker Lavender Woofer's, 4 10' on the back dash and 4 10's behind the rear set, and the trunk was our box back then. Mine was in my 69 Dodge Dart ( high school days 😁 )! ZAPCO SEQ, Tweeter's on the upper door by the wing window ( I can't believe I just said, Wing Window 🤣😂🤣😂🤣 ) mid on the lower door panel and all Beckers in the back. I had so many ZAPCO Amps, Bridges, Cross Overs, wires for days, but the way it hit 🔊🔊🔊🔊 This was 1986, Junior in highschool, Twisted Sister, Slayer, Suicidal Tendencies, DRI, Ramones, Beastie Boys, Depeche Mode, Talking Heads ( Burning Down The House was fire on my system, didn't know what he was saying, but it bumped) and so on. I even have a tattoo of the ZAPCO symbol on my right arm. Ok now that's is done, let's fast forward, been thru 8 million divorce's 100 million girlfriends, had new Ford's all day long, and had a Awesome life, Thx to my Dad ( Love that man, Love You Dad and miss you 😘 ), but with all that life going on stuff, I never took time to put a system in any of my vehicles, nothing. I thought look, if I can't go like the 80's and everyone is telling me I need a box, I just thought that they were Crazy, cause I always said, no you don't, you just need a big trunk and a new trunk gasket and you'll BOOM 💥💥💥 the whole city. Then fast forward some more around what?, the year 2000 and I hear rattling and vibration coming from Donks, and cars with people trying to bump, and I hear no bump, until the driver door opens, and I don't know if it's just me, but I then just cringe and I'm like 🤢🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮 but hey, it can't talk, I have nothing, so who I'm I to talk, and I forget about it, but I remember those 80's 😁. Fast Forward to today. About 3 weeks ago, my coworker ask me, when you gonna put a system in that coyote and I tell him, never, I have exhaust to listen to and he tells me, open the cab up, and I roll my eyes, so I do and he just starts going to town with his eyes and looks at my dash, front seats, and moved to the back and pulls the back seats up and said oh ya, you could hit hard in this. I'm like right, sure thing there MacGyver, he laughs and says no, really. I'm thinking in 2024, I'm not dumping big money like I did in high school and he said, no really and you could do it for under $1,500.00. I'm thinking $1,500.00 ain't going to fill my bed up with woofers, he said, no really I could do it and you'll be hitting hard, plus you have this truck stock looking, no one would even know. I told him, I don't want my truck broken into, cause I'm more worried about a broken window than the system gone. He laughed and said, no, I'll come off the factory unit, and I'll put it in for free ( cause don't let him fool you, he just wants to use my truck as a ginny pig and learn the routing) so I said ok, I'm single and I'll have it in 2 weeks, tell me what to order. He had me get the Skar dual enclosed 10" under the back set, but the 2 10's were on one side, and I said, that looks like 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 So I said, what about this one, Skar dual 12's loaded enclosed he said, oh SH++, the whole town is going to hear you. Now mind you, I come from 8 10" Beckers and I looks at him, like these and I point at it and say these are going to hit hard, ye right 😂🤣😂🤣 I accidentally order the dual 12's one on each side, but I thought I ordered a better box, because one was open and the other one for $250 more I thought it was a better build box, so I said screw it and bought it, well when it got to the house, I didn't know what loaded meant when I bought it, well I do now, so know need to buy the shallow mount Pioneers, because mine came loaded, plug and play. 😂🤣😂🤣 Ok rest of stuff, pioneer 6x9's and the are in the front, not in the back doors, the 6's are in the back, which shocked my coworker, and if do this, I'm running Pioneer 6x9's 5 way fronts and Pioneer 6's in the back doors 4-way. Also if you swap out your fronts, we learned that you'll need to buy the mounts for the doors, as you can not put the 6x9's in the factory holes, the magnet will hit the window and you'll not be able to raise or lower them. The bracket holes all line up bracket mount to factory door hole and then the Pioneer 6x9 holes to the bracket mount, all line up. Now I'm waiting on the two coils and 2 wiring BOSS kits. He had me buy this amp that's on this video for the box and the Pioneer 1,200 4 channel for the doors. He says it'll bump, but I just don't believe him and how he's going to turn all the new Pioneer door speakers into highs and mids only with that amp, is something I'll have to see and hear to believe. I guess times have changed and he said, amps today are digital not analog like back in the day. We'll see and I'm not showing him, but I'm kinda getting excited about the system we're putting in it. Look I'll be happy if I just get a little bump, that I can hear, nothing like the 80,s but he said, I'm in for a world of a surprise, so we'll see. I'll post back when we're done. Be about 3 to 4 weeks, as we're doing this at work, were yard spotter's, so when there's no trailers need to be moved, we'll be in the truck wiring it up. Thx and can't wait to hear it and " Black Pink In Your Area " 🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊

      @@stereomojoI really appreciate the response. I didn’t bother looking into it. Got a CT Sounds 1000 mono and am very happy. That paired with the Hydro 12 2ohm wired at 1ohm BANGS.

      @@stereomojoalso…. Why is the “normal” gain position at 12oclock? I barely had mine at the 3oclock point and it would distort like crazy clipping the sub with the bass turned all the way down on the head unit.

    I dont know what kind of secret sauce Rockford puts into their subwoofer amplifiers, but I sure do like their punchy, dynamic tonal characteristics.
    I've tested out a few other brands and they just didn't match up. They had a more mellow, softer tone to them.

      Yeah. I've got 3 of the 1998 vintage 225.2, a 500a2, 4 of the T10001BD, a T5002, a Prime 500, 750 and 1200, and a matching R400 4D. So 13 Rockfords.
      I'd like to get a T2500-1bdCP with the blue meters, but it's hard to find a cheap one.

      I have a 60ix that was basically used like a neighborhood ho everyone used it at some point, when something happened to their amp I let them use it until they got a new amp. It looks horrible, but It still works.

    Put up some healthy numbers I knew what these do I had 2 of them they love .8 ohm and .66 ohm if u can get it to not protect at .66 ohm it does very solid power numbers I had 2 use 2 50 amp fuses when wired below 1 ohm I was pulling 150 amps.
