It's awesome that you guys take the same level of care and attention to detail in older cars with budget gear as you do with the nicer cars with higher end gear. I wish everyone in our industry did the same. Then maybe dealerships and other me mechanics wouldn't automatically blame the aftermarket as soon as something electrical goes wrong. I do a ton of remote start installs and my goal on every one is to blend in with the factory wiring. Using the same type of harness tape as they do etc. If they don't see it they can't automatically point the finger without even testing for the problem.
Pioneer amps are absolutely killer for the price.
Confirmed. 2x GM-D8704 driving 4 channels of Full range, 2 10" soundlab kickers with bandpass 80-200 Hz, and 2 pioneer TS-W300S2 subs. Both pairs bridged to 2 Ohm operation. All in a 2009 Citroen Berlingo XTR 1.6 VTi. I used jumper cables for the speaker wires, fat copper for a fair price lol

You know what would be awesome...is a comparison video of shallow subs, the kicker rt vs pioneer Ts-z10ls vs jl tw5 vs Kenwood vs image dynamics. Keep them all 10". Test in sealed, and vented, judge by box volume needed, dynamics, SQ (I know it's subjective), SPL, Price. I think that would be a hit.

When my poor DNX8120 died, I put in two - 4x60 A/B amps for the doors and pillars. The head had been doing a fair job driving them, but the upgrade was worth it. Now I have 2 DD VO 6.5's in the rear door and 2.75's in the rear pillars to cover up the muddiness of the VO's. This gave me reasonably clean vocals and mid with decent SPL. The mid-range amp is definitely something to look at for anyone seeking better than factory sound.

the angled connections on the prime amps is a bugger but the way my amp rack is made my wires go directly down through holes I made into a cavity on the back.😎

So being late the reason for the angle terminals is for a more secure hold. Since the wire goes in at an up angle and the set screw comes in behind like a Y shape almost it forces a wedge just like hammers and axes have used for hundreds of years and is better than a pin through method. Yes if properly set with a ferrel or even without the simple push in terminal and set pin are fine. But i do have to say no denying these angled terminals are best for secure connections
I'm installing this same amp.. in my 07 escalade and replacing with some 4way pioneer 6.5's on the doors with tweeters on A pillar... thats all simple.. my question is the 3.5 speaker on the dash what is that wired to? Meaning what side FL FR?

Hello. I have a 19 Kona SE. Replaced my speakers with Kicker KS series. Bought off Crutchfield Clearance. Rated for 100, 120 Watts RMS. Running off the factory radio now. I would like to add a 4 channel amplifier. Not much trunk space for a subwoofer. Not sure what I should look into?? A local shop suggested a JL RD 75x4 amp. I don't know the number. Then I saw this Pioneer you used. One thing about Pioneer that turned me off to them years ago was, The Power Ratings. Used to be Inflated. Speakers rated for 120. Then find out 40 RMS. Same with the Amps. Thank you

I know it’s been two years since this video, but I’m putting a pioneer amp in my car. I bought it and it’s all wired it up but I don’t know how the power connections go I only have one thick one which I’m guessing is the positive but what are the other two on the left of it??? Please help…

I have the Pioneer GM-A6704 4-Channel Amplifier. I will will be using it as 3 channel in my workvan, My 2 front speakers and a subwoofer. My radio is Jensen CAR710W. This radio has 3 Pairs of 4V preamp outputs (F/R/S). Where should I connect the rca for my sub? Should I use the rear channel or the ones labeled subwoofer. Also, the radio is kind of unusual how they label the subwoofer preamp outputs. They are labeled as subwoofer 1 and subwoofer 2. I am used to seeing (L/R). Please advise. Thanks much...
Hey Dean and Fernando. Question when you hit the high volume on the radio and you tell the customer. Is there a setting that will prevent it from going any higher? Home theater recievers let you set a max and a turn on volume. Very helpful to stop others from destroying your speakers.

There are two different types of RCA interconnects, I’ve just learned. Do you know which these would use ? Differential Input (“twisted”) or (other) ‘coax’ type …..
The ABS board that the amp is fixed to, is it free floating behind the carpet? Or is it glued/fastened somehow to the body of the car?

I have this amp with a classic sound retro looking radio in a 1964 convertible Corvair with focal 6.5 USC 165 speakers in the doors and I’m not happy with the sound. Is it the kicker speakers I need? I want to make my radio punch like yours when playing songs like rush if that helps. Being. Corvair there’s no room for speakers anywhere except the doors.

I noticed the nice catalog that Fernando is looking up speaker adapters in. I was wondering what company that catalog is for so I can contact them and set up an account and purchase that catalog. We are trying to grow our shop/business (M&W Kustom Mobile Audio) and wanting to team up with good companies and we really like having catalogs to just crab a look at.

Is that amp any good? I've been looking at it to power my Morel Maximo 6 components and coaxials because it has good power and people say that they play good, clean sound and is hifi rated.

Man, I wish I was even remotely close to your shop. I'd let you install my system. Your attention to detail is hard to find in today's world. Everyone just wants to slap it in there and, as long as it's playing, call it a day. Looking to upgrade the stock stereo in a Q50 (non-Bose) and figured I'd do a set of components in the front, stock back fill and a 10 or 12" sub in the trunk. Would this amp sound decent to power the front components (maybe JBL or Polk, nothing super expensive) and a Pioneer shallow 10 or 12? I think it would do good, right?
So after watching you remove the rear seat I have a question. If removing the front seats, will I get an airbag light if I don't disconnect the battery prior to taking them out?

Got the 9605 pioneer amp. Don't distort until volume 60-62. Max volume is 62. Had Kicker kxa800.5 used for a week and put 9605 back in. Kicker kxa800.5 is crap compared to pioneer 9605. I say that because I have both amps. Sub channel on kicker is a joke. Pioneer sounds so much better. All Focal system with Pioneer headunit.

Another clean install. After seeing how much attention to detail you guys put into your builds, I'm going to use your shop within the next few months to do a full sound system install for my 2018 Honda Accord. I just need to get the speakers first and ill be ready for the install.

I've got a 2019 Ford Fusion SE with the 8 inch nav screen and base 6 speaker system. Is there a factory amp? If so are there any harnesses made yet for bypassing the factory amp or integrating after market amplifiers? If there is no factory amp is there a T harness for this head unit to get speaker level output from the head unit to integrate an after market amp? There is so very little info available on this vehicle online and it's very frustrating. I could try and pull everything apart to run tests and figure it out but hopefully someone has the answers. I also want to do the install of speakers and amplifiers myself without taking it to a shop...if I was near you guys in Florida I definitely would, but I'm not lol

Colin McDonald you don’t necessarily have to find Fusion info as the Sony system is the same for all models. There’s tons of integration products for them, you just have to look in the right places. Lots of small companies make custom t-harnesses that suit your needs if a company like Audio Control, Axxess or Metra doesn’t have them. I bought my harnesses for my Focus from LLJ Customs, they have videos on their installs, look them up! Most late model Fords share the same audio connectors so if it fits one, it probably fits most😂

Hey guys massive fan from Australia quick question when setting gains using the 1khz and 40 hertz test tones should they be set using 0 db or -5bd test tones
0 when testing output of radio to see where it distorts. For this radio it was volume 43. Then we switched to -5 to set gain leaving volume at 43.

Five Star Car Stereo~ Dean, is the -5db, to allow for headroom? I always use the liumy now for output/clip/ gain setting @0db- I also heard you say with crossovers off?( you set the amp to fullrange/all pass, head unit too?,while gain setting@-5db, then turn crossovers back on?) ty, Christian

Hopefully you won't ever need to swap for a different amp, wires cut to length and pulled tight, not seviceable friendly in many situations.
There is a reason why they make it that way cause instead of straight you drill holes so u can hide the wires!

@@FiveStarCarStereoInc Definitely not BS...You did mount it to an amp panel. All about matching the right amp to the customer's budget. If budget allows an amp panel, then it is our job to make it match the equipment selected. Part of the process! You have a unique way of wiring things and that is not a bad thing, but stand offs and center holes to completely hide the wires is a valid method too.
