    Well done, Becky! Almost all tutors skip steps, leaving the student frustrated. You attend to detail with delightful clarity. Perhaps you will share your expertise on mixing tracks; since the presenters in all the videos I have watched ramble on endlessly, promising info about setting levels but then offering no useful info.
    I set the peak amplitude of the lead voice to -6dB then adjust the accompanying tracks, one by one during playback. The 32-bit float option protects against clipping when mixed down to stereo. In mastering, the final headroom is 0.10dB. Most of the accompaniment tracks are about -9dB or lower. But after that, I find myself adding compression or using a limiter to feature fills, etc. But what a labor that is. No doubt you have a more expedient method.

    Call me crazy but I could've sworn that in a previous build we could hover over the automation value bubble, click it and enter values directly from the keyboard. For the life of me I can't seem to edit the value bubble's data in version 11 unless I drag the automation curve around with the mouse. It was so much easier to just key in a +/-1db value to an automation lane.

    Very nice but can´t i record the clips pitch automation? That´s the one thing i want to automate the most! And i mean recording that by turning knob in my midi controller, not painting that envelope.

    You must be psychic - I recently ran into an unusual issue with Automation, and I'm wondering if you might have an answer:
    - I grouped two audio tracks so I could affect both clips
    - added a ShaperBox 2 plugin to the Group track
    - added a Volume Shaper to repeat a level envelope for 1/2 a bar across two bars total
    - automated the ShaperBox Mix slider inside the Arrangement view, so the effect would go from 100% to 0% across the two bars
    This was working lovely until I saved and quit, came back to it an hour later, and it wouldn't work. The automation changes were still showing, the red dot on the parameter was still there, but the change wouldn't play - audio from both clips was still playing fine. What keyboard shortcut did I accidentally press 😬 to disable the Automation?
    PS - sorry to hear you're sick - hope it wasn't COVID again. Be well!

    • @BeckySaifMusic
      @BeckySaifMusic  2 роки тому +1

      Is the automation line grey? You may have to re-enable automation, which is on the top bar to the right of the play/stop/rec controls.

      I switch to Ableton from Logic X and I haven't regretted the decision one bit. I slightly prefer the UI of the comping in Logic but now that there's a comping feature in Ableton 11, it's really the leading DAW in my opinion.
