I've seen ring mandrills before but never this tool. Not to mention seeing how its parts fit together. Thanks for the vid, nice to learn new things even if it as about old stuff.
fantastic music..thanks for digging that up..it seems everybody uses the same tracks..and kick ass on restore..amazing how tough..and beautiful these old 'tools' are!
Hand Tool Rescue do either of you ever think about replacing the old Phillips head or slotted screws with something like a star drive screw for more positive control?
Brilliant video, my friend. Your restoration projects are so satisfying to watch. You must get an amazing sense of achievement from them. Great work, as always - Thanks very much!
I make some coin rings too! I am so jealous, those are not cheap. Great find. You did a great job on the restortation! Let me know if you ever find another one that needs restoring.
I didn't even know such a thing existed! This would work great on stainless steel rings which can't be resized using a cut and insert material method like gold or other precious metals.
Nice job! Am I right in saying you're missing the reducing/flattening plate(s) for the bottom? Do you plan to make a replacement? Iv'e gained a great deal of enjoyment and inspiration from your channel, thanks chief. Jay.
Grande lavoro Bro. Il colore è fantastico, è la stessa vernice usata per la morsa e la levigatrice a nastro? A e grazie per avermi fatto capire come svitare le viti bloccate. Non sai quanti cacciavite ho buttato😅
I never looked it up, so I don't know it for sure. But I guess heat isn't much about expanding the metal, it's more about breaking the bond between parts, like rust, I'm pretty sure it gets converted by heat, that might help too right? The point must be to move stuff ever so slightly to free them up... But again, that's just how I see it! Don't quote me xD
maybe.. just maybe... that would work for real steel... i mean those old stuffs made from real steel and the steel at that years are real deal not just stainless steel like nowadays stuff...
Great tool, beautiful restoration, and epic music.
It's fun watching someone else restore a tool.. Well done.
Thank you sir :)
You’re definitely not afraid of hard work that’s for sure. Great video.
This was so helpful! Mine wasn’t stretching anymore. Now I have enough faith in me to disassemble it and have a look why

Great video, just a little tip,use wood chips\dust to clean parts after you put the stripper on.It absorbs the used stripper for easy clean up.
Thanks paul! I'll try! :)
That's a nice tool you got there! Great job cleaning it up. Some fresh grease and paint and it's like new.

i can't get the concept burning the bolt in order to loosen it... the bolt would expand and become tighter isn't it?
