What a great demo! Now I get why you have to flip it over. Never thought about the cone shape. So interesting to see how this is done. Its a lot of manual measuring, checking, and finessing. Tool is worth every penny. Will look into buying one. Thank you for the excellent demo!
Thank you for this video as well. We have one of these in the shop, but my instructor never took the time to show my class. It's nice to see the benefits and disadvantages of this tool.
Would a little spray of PTFE or silicon cut down on the marking from the steel template. I have been looking at a resizer and it's great to see videos like this.
We ended up exchanging this model for the slimmer version ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx0jZ_lGlDVJhDnmagEU8gn47cmfPNlLQU because it was too wide for the only door trim area that made sense to mount it on. However, we should have just noted the dimensions prior to purchasing. Otherwise, we love the doorbell. It works perfectly, and the video is very clear, even at night.
Another great thing about Pepe Tools is that they are made to last a lifetime so the expense is well worth it over time. Normally no replacement cost. :)
Hi. Thank you for your video. Great. I have one question please. Do you have to aneal a yellow golden weddingring (just à simpel band) to stretch it up one size? Thank you in advance🍀
Sr, how do you lube the inner mandrel in the spines of the ring stretcher and what type of grease or oil do you use.I bought a cheap Indian ring stretcher it works good but I think is time to clean it and lube it.
Hi randy, where did u get the larger plate for coins? 🤔 I make coin rings but my stretcher/reducer plate was too small so I bought the dies. But I would like to source a larger plate for my reducing. So was good to see u mention the coin ring one 👍 thanks
Here is a link to it, I haven't used it yet but when I do I will make sure to make a video about it.😊👍 Coin Ring Reducing Die - bit.ly/CoinRingReducingDie
Nice technique sir. Sir can it be done on 9.25 starling silver with solitaire AD stones or any other imitation ring? Or this flame process will ruin the total ring if it's not pure silver?
It would depend on the metal. If it's stainless steel it's not going to move but if it's copper or brass filled then it will stretch or shrink a little but if it's plated you might crack or rip the plating
@@GomeowCreations the diameter and center hole diameter. I tried to order one but it seems the plate cannot fit between the throat and the center holder!
Oh for sure it was very helpful. It's nice that you take the time to do these videos for those of us who are interested. Love your videos...all,of them.👍🤗
I hate youtube most of the time for censorship on creators and comments on various topics against the global agenda - BUT it can also be amazing (though i suppose frighteningly so) Basically i was THINKING i need to watch a video on a ring sizing/reducing tool and this popped into my feed 😮
So you can but it's going to change the overall look and shape of the Ring a ton and you might also rip through the gold filling so I don't suggest doing it.
Good video, thank you! I'm a newer subscriber and I like all your videos. 👍 I wonder how many of the thumbs down are actually what I call fat finger hits. (Accidents) and they don't know how to undo it. When I first started using youtube i hit the thumbs down button a few times. I eventually figured out how to undo it. Lol Keep the videos coming!
Looking for how they reduce Rings with Jewels set in them and on the sides like an Engagement ring. 😕 This was interesting...gotta keep looking though.
You don't for the most part. If the stones are all the way around it just can't really be done. If the don't go all the way around you would have to remove them if they can't handle heat or keep them in cut out some metal from the bottom of the band and solder it back together. This is not easy and you can mess things up really easily

I've just had a gents wedding ring increased 1/2 size. I always thought they would either cut & insert a segment or stretch as per your video. Instead it appears they have ground material away from the inner circumference. I can tell as the hallmark is virtually indistinguishable. So they've stolen my gold & charged me £35 for the pleasure too. Any genuine goldsmith's comments please?
That kinda sucks but it might have been the only way to do it. If it is detailed or has stones set around it it would be very hard to resize it. If this was a simple band sadly they ripped you off 😅

New to coin ring making, I found this video very helpful 👍
That’s nice to see how people sizes Rings thank you for the video
Okay, I may be a bit weird, but watching this video made my heart flutter...it's just so cool. I need one of these on my bench NOW!!!
It's a very handy tool. I use it a lot to make my rings perfect circles in seconds. 😊 Let me know if you get one and what you think of it 👍

Have seen this from several people but not with this detail. And none of the don’t do points. Now more interested in this tool. Good job
Well thank you and I wanted to give more information about the tools I use because I know people might want to know what they could use it for. 😁👍

Amazing video sir. 🙏🏼
Though i have a question, my finger size is 6 and i have a silver onyx ring of the size 7. Can it be resized down ???
You can't do that with stones in the ring.
Hi. Thank you for your video. Great.
I have one question please. Do you have to aneal a yellow golden weddingring (just à simpel band) to stretch it up one size?
Thank you in advance🍀
A good rule of thumb is to anneal anything that you're wanting to manipulate.
Thank you very much. 👍🍀

I haven't had to do that yet be other tools I just use machine oil on them.
Is it easier to re size up or down ?
It really depends on the ring you are working wirh
If I wanted to make a gold band bigger than 1 size should I anneal it first maybe? Im not able to fix it if it splits.
How many sizes are you wanting to stretch it up?
Oh ya I guess I should have said that, about 2 sizes up
Thanks for the reply😃

Is the ring stretcher suitable for spoon rings?
I don't think that will work well unless you solder the ended together or else it will just open it up.
Thanks for your help
Can i ask for video of how making astronomical ring please i tired trying it🙏🙏

Does this only work on silver? What about titanium, tungston or stainless steel rings?
It will only work on soft metals so the ones your listed will not work. Normally those kinds of rings are machine to the right size.
Mine only opens up a tiny bit? Is that how it's supposed to work?
What part?
Are ring stretchers standard
What do you mean by standard?

Can you resize a ring with a setting on it?
Where can I buy that large ring stretcher? 25, 26, 27 mm
This is amazing
How many sizes can you compress a ring down?
Like 1 to 2 sizes make
Very specifically it’s a 2 mm gold band really like to take it down three sizes is that a bad idea?
Do you have stones in it?
@@GomeowCreations no just a plain gold band
cool tool, shame it costs loads tho but i guess someone professional as you can get your moneys out of it from a few average rings
Reheat and cool down for hardness
That doesn't work on non-ferrous metals.
Sandwich used cycle tube rubber over the ring with steel sizer you will get no marks on ring and fast results. Thanks
Hey can I resize a gold fill ring from 8 to 5??₩
So you can but it's going to change the overall look and shape of the Ring a ton and you might also rip through the gold filling so I don't suggest doing it.
Can a jeweler bring down a size 8 down to 6.25 without damage or losing an important hallmark? Thanks , Liz
In 22k , that is
So what can we do with all the stainless steel rings being made now, can't resize, hard to get off if injured quite useless!
In short, don't use them if that is your concern. All of the steel and tungsten rings are machines to the right size and really can't be resized.
How much for the tool to downsize and hub size rings and where can I get it let me know in the comments below
I have links in the description of the video to all the tools.
I saw some Videos on coinrings and they Said that you can reduce the Marks the Metal Setup adds to the piece by a lot by using vaseline
Good to know, thank you
