I have both this and the M50. The M50 comes with me when I travel and for UA-cam, the M100 when I bike. Lens choice? The kit lens is pretty good for most situations. The 22mm and 32mm EF-M is great but Sigma lenses and Canon EF-S and EF lenses makes both M100 and M50 a work horse for photography or video.

I have this camera,, its best bang for your dollar. I think it even has a little better dynamic range than the M50...And i liked it so much that i got a Speed booster for it, and with the booster, photos looks just like a Full Frame !

I've just bought the canon 22mm lens to add to my m100 for street photography. I think this combo is great bang for the buck.

I am torn and have been for a few days now after watching a handful of your videos lol, sony a6000 or the Canon eos m100?! Beginner over here! Looking to shoot mainly family portraits and landscape photos. Thank you for all of your information! You've narrowed it down tremendously for me. Best wishes, you've gained another new sub!
I bought this last year and couldn't be happier! I used to have big expensive DSLR's and the camera bag was soo heavy I ended up leaving it half the time.
I dont think the M100 has the same sensor as in 80D. I just sold it because the image was noisy even at 100 ISO and bright daylight. The sensor is of lower quality. I switched to Sony because of that and particular because of the focus shift issue in kit lens when using lower apertures. Sony A6100 changes aperture in real time as if u have manual aperture ring whereas this canon kit lens rely on bigger aperture when focusing than shift to ur set aperture which effects the focus.
My advise: don't buy it if you are critical about image sharpness.

I bought this and the Commix (sp) adapter for $350 USD new. I added the 22mm f2 lens for about $120 more. And I own a Zoom recorder. You described my kit. 👌

I have this but currently selling this as I prefer the g7x mark 2. It's a good little camera but you need to be a good photographer for it while the g7x is easier to use. It's still a great camera

Cool vid, i'm planning on getting this, however I can't seem to understand what the battery life for recording videos is. Some mention 80mins (CIPA standards, whatever this means) while others got it to 125 mins. So what's the correct battery life for videos?
In my opinion, you could just use a lavalier mic and connect it to your phone and do an recording via your phone's sound recorder.
One hack that I do is create a sound cue (ex. clap) near the beginning of the recording so it'll easier to sync in the audio 😂

I bought the M100 to shoot mall show/concert pictures and I bought a tamron 18-200mm lens and I get better photos than most of my friends with dslr connected to a telephoto lens. Get the m100.
I use my phone (iPhone 12 mini) for photos because I don’t have a camera. Do you think it’s worth it to buy canon eos m100?

viltrox and metabones are the best options. One is budget and one is highend. I really like the 24mm or a 28 mm. I think 16mm just looks too wide. As for which specific lens, the canon efs line is great.

sadly no evf, I think that’s why the cost is so low
Makes it more compact and the flip up screen never fails me, its fast and easy to use for all kind of angles anywhere i go.
Anyone know if when u connect this to your phone on the app it gets videos on the phone too?

Which is better M100 or M200 ?
M100, its the same without the crappy 4k (it crops, and yiu lose the autofocus) and without the slightly better image processor. So its cheaper... there's a design failure of the m200 but its a personal opinion of mine.

This camera only has electronic image stabilization when paired with an image stabilizer lens.
It has nothing when used with the 22mm f2
So you said this camera isn't good for fast moving action, but my question is, is the Canon M50 good for fast moving action?
Yup! the canon m50 does 10 fps in single focus and 7.5 in continuous. Its decent compared to other cameras!
