- Toaster Entry #21: One year has gone by so quick! I’ve had tons of learning experiences with the Toaster, big and small, positive and negative! If I could travel back in time to talk to old Jer, this is what I would say!

You are not alone, brother I’m currently living out of my vehicle as well and honestly, I feel more positive than ever!!!
May I ask why you’re living out of your car? I’m thinking of doing it by choice.
@@Rawbeauty15 tbh I couldn’t afford rent at the time anymore plus I plan on going back to school for Interior design and I’ll be able to save much more !!
Hey girl im also thinking of doing this by choice are u from Cali!?? And if u are maybe we can get together sometime n hang cause im about to start this type of lifestyle for myself
@@Rawbeauty15don’t do it unless you can stop caring about the choice part. People don’t care, just hope it’s not a bad person to take interest. Be stealth, not sneaky; stealth blend in. The less people know the better, have fun.
Great video. I have been living in my Toyota Prius for 8 years. I feel like I struck gold with this lifestyle.
You’re an inspiration, bro. You gave me the push I needed to downsize.
Wow! Glad I could inspire you, that means so much! Thanks for watching and good luck on your journey! :)
1 year bro wow! You made it man. Lol it gets easier
Thanks buddy! Really appreciate the support! :) Thanks for watching!
Great video. You have a very genuine perspective 👍
I’m thinking of doing this by choice for a year or so. To get more comfortable with myself, to not be so materialistic, to downsize, to have a year to really get to know myself more.
I am moving into my 🧡Element in July! I’ve sold everything and have purchased everything except my fridge/freezer and Jackery❤ I’m excited for my adventure..a little nervous, but excited!! Headed to the PNW to start!
Thats awesome! I'm so happy for you! :) Good luck on your journey, enjoy the pnw!! :) Oh, and thanks for watching :)
new here and about to be living out of my saturn ion. go us!!
You are inspirational!! Living WITH yourself (not by youself) . You must be great company because you're getting to see more of YOU and are enjoying life with you!!
My husband and i are on our second E build. We LOVE our Element for MANY reasons.
If you ate ever traveling upstate NY.....you are welcome to park your toaster on our off grid, middle of nowhere property!! (Becauseyou havegood energy)
Ahhh thanks so much for the kind words! I may be planning a northeast trip later this year, might take you up on that offer! Thanks for watching! :)
I feel it bro
Haha thanks for watching buddy! :)
Woah I'm in raleigh. Back in 2018 I lived in my car for about 8 months. Toyota prius. It was great, but I didn't do doordash or gigwork back then. I was "stuck" at a 40 hour a week job only making 400 bucks a week.
Now I can make 400 in a day if I rlly tried (18 hours lol) anyway. Been thinking about doing this again, I have another prius. I'm realizing I could save so much money doing this with gigwork. My lease ends next December tho.i know it's a huge sacrifice , I've been an apartment dweller for 4 years now. Rent is just annoying and all the bills that come with it.
Hopefully year 2 will bring you up to New England to paddle! Love your videos! SYOTR
Hopefully! I am planning a northeast trip later this summer, lets link up for sure! :)
Deerfield Riverfest (American Whitewater) is the first weekend in August.
I’ve got an 08 tangerine EX AWD and am trying to come up with a name for her. Thinking either PSLatte or Musubi. Thoughts?? 😜👍🏻
BTW your video on rear latch install was super detailed and helpful! 👍🏻👍🏻
yoh, that water fall at 6:01 where is that? looks pontentially sweet (judging from a 3 second clip which was filmed from a bridge 200 feet away :D )
Haha thats Hurricane Falls on the Tallulah! I dont know if its runnable? we were looking at it while hiking into the run! Thanks for watching!
How much money did you save
Honestly.....not that much. Sure I don't have to pay rent, but my gas costs go way up, and food and groceries go up too because I can't buy in bulk and keep stuff. That, and wifi and laundry and it adds up!
Hope that sorta answers your question? Anyways thanks for watching :)
Your hair grew so much
How exactly do you wash your clothes? Do you borrow someone’s machine or do you go to a laundry mat? Do you wash it with your hand?
How did you make that rope roof rack in the interior of the car?
hey! i basically took a bungee net and reinforced it with rope woven thru! ua-cam.com/video/JGK1SQmGvlk/v-deo.html
Hope that works for you! Thanks for watching :)
Do you work still? How do you maintain the balance of that with full time car living ?
Why didn't you just buy a camper trailer to connect to your element? That way you could have stored everything in that and your truck and you could have left the camper trailer wherever you want and drive your truck instead of having it connected to you element and saved on gas and space.
Thats a great idea! Unfortunately I drive a ton of mountain roads and switchbacks that are not trailer friendly, and I also wanted to make sure I could go wherever whenever, and not have to worry about going back somewhere to pick up the trailer. If I weren't a kayaker, I might have done that! Thanks for watching :)
Okay but how do u get ur money doing this??? Is what i want to understand!?? Lol how do u survive living in ur car with no job?? I have a job and ive been wnating to do this soooo bad but how do u do it with a job? Can u still travel??? Lol
My only problem is making money
If I was living in my car, I wouldn’t stay in the south. Sorry, but a lot of those people are too puritanical. I’m staying on the west coast. Preferably around Nevada.
"I moved into my car 1 year ago…" and yet this is titled ‘living out of my car’. Strange Americanism!
Haha yeah! The english language can be weird sometimes! Thanks for watching :)
