How is the regular iPad model hard to understand? It’s the cheapest iPad model! Many people don’t want to pay $600 for a tablet. And you say the things ppl use the regular iPad for they can just use the mini. But the money is much more expensive! If anything doesn’t make sense it’s mini. Why pay more for a smaller screen? Taking notes or surfing the web would be more enjoyable with a larger screen. Lastly, you can do all basic computer things with the regular iPad. If you’re looking to not only watch videos, read books, and taking notes, but also type emails, maybe create a pages document, you can do that with the cheapest tablet. You don’t need to spend another $200 on the air / mini to do those things. This is what the regular iPad is the second most popular iPad model (only superseded by the pro)
IMO these guys are a victim of “tech elitism”. I totally agree with you about the base iPad. I’m now on my third iPad and have enjoyed using it everyday. Compared to other higher priced models, what’s not to like? Word type document:Pages. Excel type documents:Numbers. Email, text messaging, content viewing, web surfing, etc. We’ll just call this one the Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla of tablets…last I checked these two car models have proven to be top sellers for a reason.
Did you know that there are geriatrics who so happen to want to see bigger to text and watch the news and that’s it? Ideal candidate for this regular iPad. I work in a hospital and see many old people who just have one to watch movies or text and FaceTime their family. The entire world doesn’t consist of young, tech savvy people like you and I. Expand your brain my guy 😅
I wonder if there will be any significant improvements in new generation of basic iPad which is rumored to be announced quite soon ... This is also good device for film makers as a monitor for their cameras and as a control device for all devices on set (lights, recorders, wireless mics, etc).
I am 76 years old. All I have ever had is the entry point iPad , got my first in 2010 , I am currently using a 9th generation. For the last 15 years they have served me well. Total investment $500.00.
iPad mini is more similar to iPad Air. Even their colors are the same, plus display color gamut and some other similarities. iPad 10th gen is more like an SE in my opinion.
Shame apple does not allow really multi user work on iPad like on android devices, although most android tablets I had were kinda lame in switching users. If they allow it my kids will have an iPad ... but they don't :P
but the baseline ipad 10 (2022) doesn't make sense to buy in 2025 since the ipad 11 is rumored to be coming out in spring. which is only a few months away. as for the mini, it is the absolute best form factor for maximum use. currently, my most used gadget around the house is samsung galaxy note10+ (flagship from 2019) - ahead of my iphone 11 pro and macbook (2016). the only downside is the lack of apple ecosystem. there is no prospect of the ipad mini pro (120hz + OLED + M-chip and external monitor support) by the end of 2026. but never say never. one day apple is gonna have to put out that dream gadget. when it comes out, it will be the most used item for many people. but it's such a crime that apple is delaying this as far as possible to get people to buy the range of segment of imperfect products.
Strange to develop and sell a bespoke keyboard for the cheapest iPad. I would think it would make more sense both financially and from a manufacturing standpoint to make one that works on all models
Using the 10 as a substitute for my current desktop. Hooked up the Ipad to 2 40" flat screens. Use it to day trade. Faster than an HP laptop and nice then buying a used MacBook.
iPad Accessories I use:
My iPad leather sleeve: amzn.to/4cVktPa
ESR Rebound Folio Cover: amzn.to/3S8fhjh
It's also for business because it's cheap to give them to thousands of employees.

Like Kareem said, great for kids!
Yes indeed!

The price was reduced from $449 to $349.
The newest iPad Mini doesn't have an M series chip.
I ordered one, looking forward to using it, thanks for the video!
You won’t be disappointed!
I would HATE taking notes on the mini. At least long form notes, which is usually what I do.

I agree, those are great use cases indeed. I anticipate the new iPad 11 to just have the A17 Pro chip so it supports Apple Intelligence
Thanks for this great video, was very informative, wishing you both well!

Schools purchase the baseline iPad because they're more affordable compared to the Mini or the Air.
4:02 did you mean to say 1st generation Apple Pencil? 👀🤔
(The iPad 10th generation does not support the 2nd generation Apple Pencil)
You’re right. That was an error on my part - iPad 10 only supports 1st gen
@ it happens!
I buy these for my kids!
Great for casual tasks and those who want a display larger than the mini

That’s very true! iPad SE is what the 10th gen is

I think Apple just wants us buying each person their own iPad 🙈
@ Seems like it. They just want all the money families have 😢

My doctor uses that iPad. A lot of professionals use that iPad. It’s a portable device that transfers files that’s it.
what about kids using it. Id rather give my 8yr old this then my €1500 iPad pro
iPad 1st generation not 2nd
I think it’s the kid and point of sale iPad
first comment, I’m goated
Appreciate it!
