My 39 yr old daughter climbed into her townhouse dumpster to rescue 3 skunk that she feeds and tries to play with. This is the honest to God truth. Helen is the best.
My friend was going home to spend the night with me in college, and we were driving to my house about an hour away. We saw a dog in distress in a fence line and stopped to check on it. Bad move. The skunk promptly turned its back to us and let loose. Got the entire side of my car. I don’t remember it being on us…. But we went home, showered. Scrubbed the car as best as we could and showered again. I drove her to her college the next morning. She went back into her dorm and showered and changed clothes again. Said she walked into her first class and everyone got up and moved away from her. She was so embarrassed. Her backpack was the stinky holdout after all that showering. She eventually ended up throwing it out and just buying a new one. Couldn’t get the smell out. Love all your haul and WIPs. I feel like I get nothing done compared to you all!! Thanks for sharing with us ~Roxanne
Great to catch up with you Ladies! Thank you so much for stitching my design, Kathy - I'm so excited to see it! I hope you feel better, and I am looking forward to seeing what's coming. Have a great day!
Great video. Thanks for all the things you share and show us. Even the skunk. Hope Kathy is feeling better soon. Helen’s tutorials are awesome. Stay well and happy stitching.
I love to see what you are stitching (or not stitching). My parents had a skunk family that lived under their carport for awhile. They used a company to trap the skunks and all were caught except for the dad. A couple of years later, the dad showed up with another family and they lived under the back patio until they were trapped. This was NOT in the country, but in a city in PA.
A few years ago, my fearless Corgi, Willow, picked a fight with a skunk. I was clueless! So what did I do? Brought her in the house, got her wet, used my good towels to try to clean her up, did not have a drop of tomato juice in the house….what a mess! Not fun, even after a professional groomer cleaned her up, she still smelled for weeks! Not sure what was worse, the skunk smell or the stuff she used to clean her with!
Corgis! Mine is so fearless. She leaps out of the back seat of my car and just trusts that I will catch her. Bless her heart. Corgis are such funny dogs. She is SO BOSSY. They call her the “sheriff” at her daycare. Love her to the moon and back!
Our first mini schnauzer got sprayed by a SKUNK and what a fiasco!! Every time we bathed him we could smell that stinky aroma and that went on for 6 long months! Enjoyed your floss tube. I’m stitching the recent release from Not Forgotten Farm, “Merry Chickmas” and it’s so fun! Thanks for another wonderful time spent with you both. Get healthy Kathy/Cathy! See you at the JingleBall ◡̈
Wonderful to see you again! Skunk...I had a dog who became friends with a skunk and her babies. Curled up with the momma and her babies right in the middle of the yard.
Hi ladies! I love your videos - had to split this one over three viewing sessions! There was so much stitching! Wow! I’m getting very excited for your retreat in April! I can’t wait to meet you both in person. 😊
Happy Thanksgiving, ladies! Kathy, sorry that you aren’t feeling well! Your stitching projects are beautiful. Missy, Christmas Bells Sampler is gorgeous. I’m always inspired by all of the projects and plans you both share.
Oh my! Skunk! On our daughter’s 6th birthday, with a house full of 5/6 year olds and had a skunk come in our house! After Animal Control came and got it, we had to open the whole house and left for the day. We locked it up that night and 3 weeks and $10,000 later we were able to get back into the house!
Missy and Kathy, I had to switch to an artificial tree due to allergies - try Balsam Hill. Pricey, but run lots of sales and their trees look real. Very happy with them!
I watched a video that suggested washing the cardboard Aida with fabric softener…even putting it through the cycle twice…to make the fabric more stitch friendly. If I had some to try it on, I would…I am curious if it would work. Lots of fabulous finishes today ladies. Happy thanksgiving….when the snow arrives, the skunk goes to sleep.
Our son's dog celebrated Thanksgiving in a new way. He had an encounter with a skunk the night before. Glad I wasn't going to eat there, lol. We have white squirrels here.
We have a skunk that visits every evening. Complete white on the top and black underneath. We have named her fluffy. She doesn't always have her scent glands on. Someone may get a big surprise one night when they go to the mailbox. 😂
Thank you for sharing all your pretties. My granddaughter wants to own a skunk, P-U....she heard a vet could take out the stink gland, I don't know about this. Thank for another great floss-tube.
I found Helen D a few months ago-love her designs and her finishes are fantastic-I really don't have a funny skunk story other than I remember when I was little some guy stopped at our house to see my dad and he had a "pet" skunk with him - Yikes -you both get so much stitching - I am amazed!!
The jingle ball is the best. It was so much fun ! I remember popping into a room last year and Missy was there. I was home so it was VERY late for her. I’ve blocked the weekend. Since I’m 5 hrs behind the East Coast the timings will be very interesting. Some early days are coming !! I’m so with you Missy about coffee. Give me a pot with 12 cups ! Happy Thanksgiving ladies Kate.
Love you guys! And all your stitching and craziness! You make me giggle! My girl friend in school had a pet skunk that would ride around on her shoulder. It never sprayed anyone and we all loved it. I feed the skunks around here (we live in the country) much to my husbands dismay! The only thing I will not stitch is a snake. I hate them and am terrified of them! Can't even do pictures of them. Kathy...I scored a Hawk Run Hollow pattern at the second hand shop a couple of weeks ago for $4.00!!! I snatched it up right quick! Happy Thanksgiving gals!
My dad was from New Hampshire and always left out the r’s or put them where they did not belong. He lived in Nebraska 50+ years and never did lose his accent. I love Helen D! Where I live, I see raccoons, foxes, and smelled the evidence of a skunk, but thankfully I have never seen one.
When I was teaching my son to drive. He thought it would be fun to hit a McDonald's bag in the middle of the road. As he approached the bag a skunk stepped out of the bag. It sprayed the front end of his car. He did not hit the skunk but his car smelled awful for weeks. Love your channel.
Catching up on my floss tube watching. I just finished watching the latest one, so I'm working my way back. :) I'm stitching a model but have Christmas at Hollyberry Farm kitted up and ready to start. My husband hit a skunk while pulling his boat to a bass fishing tournament. His boat was very stinky for a few days.
Can you believe I have a pet skink in my yard in Jersey City NJ! We have a freaking over population of skunks here! He loves to let me know he’s in the yard visiting each month!! 😣 love you finished !! Tfs christine
Miss you guys! It was too long. Helen is just the best! Her tutorials give me hope I can finish things myself. Happy Thanksgiving and I hope your cold goes away quickly! 🦃
Such an enjoyable video… listening and watching here in Midwest. We had our first snow~ 3”. So pretty… i wonder if i will see a skunk here in illinois?😂😂😂. Loved listening to the life’s stories of the Mainer’s… beautiful stitches… blessings to both. 🎄
😷 I drove over a skunk that was on the road one night. I turned around right away and went through the car wash twice. Then left the car out for 2 or 3 night before bringing in the garage.
Happy Thanksgiving! Enjoying my day catching up on floss tube, stitching and going out to dinner with family! Fabulous WIPs and finishes! Maybe I will catch you at the jingle ball!
Nice catching up with you gals! I loved seeing all that you're stitching on...such inspiring ideas!! Looking forward to your Christmas stitches video! Happy Thanksgiving!
Enjoyed a great video ladies - thank you! 🥰 Happy to hear Kathy and Ashley got into the Barefoot Retreat. I tried for that one too, but … no luck this year. 😔 Happy Holidays ladies! 🦃🎄 Hope to see you at the Jingle Ball. 🔔🎄🎁 Jacque 🐑

Oh, Missy…I’m not a Star Wars fan either 🫣 much to my boys dismay 😮. I’m heading over to watch the Christmas parade video right now. Waiting for Jingle Ball to start 🎅🏻
Happy Thanksgiving! Helen D has great tutorials! I enjoy watching her videos. We recently passed a dead skunk on the road. The smell was overpowering! Encountered it coming and going! Ugh!
Thank you for sharing your stitches. A couple of charts have been added to my list. We have both squirrels in town. At our house we have gray, across the road they have red. Now in a town I go to there are black squirrels that are called melanistic…they are as dark as a skunk!
Your video is great! Just love your stitching! Love that you choose your own colors! I do that a lot also! Just beautiful stitching! The smell is a skunk will take your breath away!
Look at all that stitching!!! My husband started sneezing a lot last night. Either a cold starting or allergies. Depending how he feels when he wakes up, we either go to his uncles or just stay home (which is what I want to do). Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!

I have been watching Debra since the beginning and she is very well spoken and a delight to watch. And yes she loves her cats! I don't think she likes skunks though.
Lots stitches girls. Great. As for a skunk story they would gather under my grandparents house (no matter how hard to bar the crawl space openings). Every February in OK is mating season for 🦨 and they spray while they’re busy so much that my grandparents would have to leave their home 🏡 no kidding 🤢
So happy to see you both and know you both are doing well. Cathy, I certainly hope you can get rid of your cold. All of your WIPS, finishes and starts are so pretty. Thank you for the joy you bring to all of us . Is there such a thing as a Christmas skunk ?
My kitchen is working too many smells. Pecan pie, barbecue ribs, cornbread, ham. If an innocent creature were to wander if, even a skunk, they would be so confused. And I will be adding turkey, dressing and brownies as well as the heat up smells, veggies, and rolls. Happy Thanksgiving!
I've used "Noel", it is a great color combo on so many fabrics, glad you did 1 full X at a time, Very Pretty!! Nice of Helen, she seems so down to earth, great Designs, Finishes & awesome Tutorials too . Carla @ Cobweb Corner has great prices! We made Doughboys last Sunday😃. Fun Video. Feel Better Kathy. Happy Thanksgiving to All.
Many years ago when I was in high school I was with a group of my friends and very innocently said I smell a skunk. My friend was so mad at me because a skunk had gotten under her house a sprayed. The odor somehow got on her coat. I felt so bad about it and she didn't talk to me for days. I have missed you guys.
Hi ladies! Just started watching your flosstube and have really been enjoying it. In this episode you mention scanning patterns into GoodNotes. I’m really interested to know how you use GoodNotes for patterns. Is there an episode that you talk about it? Thank you both for sharing with us. ~Denise
Yeah so glad you ladies are back! I love krenik too and beading is your easy and fun! I do make an entire x thru my beads though because I like them to stand up and not lean unless they look like they should! Make sure you use a beading needle! I tried a reg and yeah that didn’t work! 😂 lovely finishes and stitching ladies and have a blessed and Happy Thanksgiving! 🦃🍽

All the stitching! Fun to see all your projects.
It was so nice to see you ladies back. Missed you…. Can’t wait to watch the Christmas video. Happy stitching to you both.

Ooohhh a skunk.
Hi ladies! Just started watching your flosstube and have really been enjoying it. In this episode you mention scanning patterns into GoodNotes. I’m really interested to know how you use GoodNotes for patterns. Is there an episode that you talk about it? Thank you both for sharing with us. ~Denise
We have not done a Goodnotes tutorial but I know there are some informative videos on UA-cam. Emma with B&E Stitchery has done one.
Thanks for the tips!
