This is the best most detailed video I have seen. I just purchased this kiln. I have a question regarding the electrical outlet. Mine was second hand and did not come with the cord. How do I plug it in!?
This was great! It answered so many questions on the order of operation steps that I could not find in the manuals. What I didn't see was if the upper peephole was closed when the third switch was engaged.

I have since found out that since I have those little holes drilled in the top, I don’t need to keep one peep open throughout. In the video I kept the top peep open the whole time. Plus I have a lid latch that I discovered a year ago! So no more stilts holding the lid open for the first switch. Best of luck using yours!!!

Thanks for taking the time to put this on UA-cam. I picked up an Evenheat 3220 manual kiln yesterday from the local want ads and there doesn't appear to be much in the way of manuals and such, so a demonstration of something similar in real life is very helpful!

This is great! I inherited a similar manual kiln by Sno Industries. They were bought out and it's like they never existed, but this gives me a good starting point to figure the thing out!

I appreciate this video. Your kiln is the most similar to mine that I have seen in a video. I would be curious to know how you do a glaze fire in this kiln as well. I’ve fired my kiln a few times and I feel like it’s going much faster than most videos I’ve seen from others. Wondering if it’s just how my kiln operates, if there’s something wrong with it or I’m doing something wrong.

I am very new to pottery and considering getting my own Evenheat Kiln because I'm paying $100 a week in kiln costs at the studio where I take classes. Your video was awesome, gave me hope that this isn't over my head. However, I do have one question, why did you have to vent your kiln if you were using it in an open door garage? Thank you!
Good question. I usually keep the garage door closed during firings especially in the winter. Plus this way the organic burns up goes outside rather than within the garage and potentially into the house.

Glaze firing is a bit different and easier. I don’t prop the lid or open the peeps. On my kiln it’s one switch per hour. The entire firing and cooling is longer because it’s much hotter.
I Just bought a kiln with Kind of this Setup, instead of the 4 switches IT got 4 lamps(for wach heating) that engage after 75mim( IT says so in the Manual), will be interesting to See how IT works, dont know how high IT can fired tho, there is no Info Plate in the kiln

Try the Facebook groups Clay buddies or pottery heads for help on the search if Google doesn’t give you what you need. I made a few errors in the video. @@jacquieblondin it turnen out my electrics were not strong enough for the kiln, the fuse popped after 5 min of firing, I bought a New one with less kw/h, and Sold the old, now it works...

PS I made a few errors in the video. It’s 2 hours for the first switch and 1 hour for each of the others. What was the fan you turned on, after turning the pottery kiln on? Does your kilns give off any bad gases that can effect our health?
