You explain things very clearly thanks. I'm a beginner and can't afford to continue my in person sewing classes right now. So I was stuck mid project. This helps a bunch!
Yes! I was going to say the same. I'm teaching myself to sew and this is the best video on darts I've found! It really helps that you are showing it on a fabric that has a very obvious right and wrong side. :)
I have one question about dart after you sew you dart and you iron the fabric to lay it flat if it's bulky can you the bulky fabric that is in the inside or will that mess up the project? I'm just wondering
+Coral Rose It shouldn't mess up the project. But, if it's annoying to you, you can sew the dart, then cut off the excess fabric. I would finish the raw edges as well.
Yes Rebecca, there is! I haven't done a video on it, but I'll add it to the list. In the meantime, this tutorial I found may help you! www.craftstylish.com/item/5855/pattern-drafting-101-how-to-close-a-bust-dart-and-move-the-fullness-to-the-hem/page/all

What about sewing a dart on the top when you make a dress?
It's the same technique.
Is there away to take darts out of a pattern? I don't like darts at all in my clothes. Please comment.
